Flexcil Note & Good PDF Reader Reviews

In the first Flexcil you could have your notes on one side of the screen and when you flip the pages it goes to the next page but you don’t have to move your notebook page. Not with Flexcil 2! For some reason on Flexcil 2 when you flip to the next page it skips the page that’s under the notebook. So no more of the seamless experience of going on to the next page and leaving the notebook page there. You have to do this awkward moving your notebook to the other side of the screen to see the second page and then flip it and then move it back to the other side of the screen again. For all the features you guys are adding for Flexcil 2 why not keep the features from the last Flexcil. And using Flexcil 1 has all of this annoying stuff about upgrading and promotions. Why? Why would I upgrade to lose basic features?

There is a problem with writing in Arabic ( textbox) (Arabic is written from right to left) and with a connected letter, while the application on the iPad reflects it from left to right and makes it intermittent and unconnected. This problem is just on the iPad.

FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader has failed me on numerous occasions but I continue to be a sucker. Problem number one that they do not advertise this enough, BACK UP YOUR NOTES or get screwed. The second problem is saving stuff. Sat in a two hour meeting yesterday had some great notes I needed to reference, only to open FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader and absolutely nothing saved. I don’t know how, I don’t know what happened or went wrong but I’m screwed. So thanks again.

I keep trying because I paid for FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader, but you guys continue to let me down time after time and I just wish I could begin to understand WHY ME! Update it, fix it, do something but this can’t keep happening.

By far one of the best note-taking app than flexcil 1 itself or other app i’ve used. But 1 main problem on flexcil 1 is that FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader doesn’t read greek letters and sadly not been fixed on flexcil 2. All the greek symbols and letters on my calc textbook are missing (example: theta, gamma). Aside from that, this is the BEST. Everyone who mentioned that flexcil 2 doesn’t have the good feature from flexcil 1 probably didn’t know there’s an option of how to turn on many different option on scrolling the page (yes, we can scroll 1 pg or 2 pg at a time, vertically/horizontally), resize the floating notes, look at the pages we on, and many more. Click through all the tiny buttons showing and you’ll realize flexcil 2 have all the feture and many other feature tht will chang your life!

So basically Flexcil 2 is missing or has a terrible translation of almost all the best features of Flexcil 1. When you have 2 or more pages on the screen, you can’t scroll one at a time, which means I have to continuously move my notes. It doesn’t even give you a reference to how many pages there are in your document. Almost every time I try to highlight something in gesture mode, it gets stuck after about 2 lines and I have to start again to get the right passage. And just a small thing, but one of the primary reasons I switched from goodnotes to Flexcil was because Flexcil let you automatically drag and drop passages from your file to your notes and aligned them within the lines of your notebook. Now I have to fight to get it into my notes and it sits there as an uncomfortable jumble of letters and lines.

I’d be more than happy to buy Flexcil 1, but apparently that’s now impossible. If you missed the deadline of December 1, 2020, you can only use Flexcil 1 standard for the 30 day free trial. Like, what? How is that even good business, completely discontinuing an app that works way better than its new clone?

Works well with Apple Pencil. FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader does what I expected, but it has taken some trial and error to figure out how to do certain things, like "find on page" (because the search icon is hidden if you have the tool menu on the smallest setting), and how to set up so it will automatically go back to pen after eraser, which is convenient. I am finding that as I use it and learn, I am liking FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader more and more. Some people complain that the eraser goes by stroke and not pixel. I think stroke is faster, so I hope they keep the option to choose if they add a pixel eraser later.

I used the original Flexcil 1 and loved it. It was super easy to do everything I needed to. Now, with this version it is super frustrating to do my work. I have not been able to edit a text box once I am done typing in it, there is no read mode to use the pen to scroll through pages, and the notebooks are now in a folder instead of being in a separate tab on the side like in the original version. Also, if you want to bring up a notebook page within a pdf it does not go to your most recently opened notebook like in the original version, but instead goes to the first alphabetical notebook. I’m not sure why they changed these features, but I hope they are able to fix them. I’m giving two stars because I do like the feature of having tabs at the top of the screen to quickly switch between recently opened pdfs.

I purchased Flexcil2 because when I tried to purchase version 1, it forced you to buy flexcil 2. All of the menu buttons are slow in responses. I have to click the “undo” or “tab closing” button several times to make events happen.

The most annoying part is you can’t past objects in the pencil mode. When I use image capture gestures or text capture gestures to copy the contents, I found I can’t paste them in the note or anywhere else within the same app. But I can paste them from the clipboard to other app. I checked the tutorial, it said “long press and select paste from the pop-up menu”, but when I followed the instructions, it said “pencil mode is working”. So in pencil mode, you can’t paste anything. This is so annoying and not supposed to be the right way to use.

Please fix the bug. And I really want my money back.

I have relied heavily on Flexcil for the last year as a working my way through grad school and I have to say, I am so disappointed by this update for so many reasons. The biggest and first I noticed was the removal of read mode which I found totally unnecessary and incredibly annoying. I’m not sure why this was done but I’m pleading with you to please bring it back. I also deeply dislike how tiny everything is I don’t have the greatest vision and the fact that I can’t change the settings to make things more visible is incredibly frustrating and makes using your product very challenging at times. I really wish I could continue using the original as this update is making me rethink whether or not I want to continue using flexcil at all.

There are way too many glitches with this new version. It is absolutely not worth it. Save your money. I have been using it for just two week and already have countless issues. I wish I hadn’t migrated . Palm rejection region glitches, selection tool glitches and many other issues. It’s just not convenient. I left a short comment on their Facebook page asking when an update will be released to resolve these issues and it was quickly deleted so I guess I will leave this lasting review. Even though Flexcil 2 has all these new features, Flexcil (flexcil 1) is smoother and gives overall better note taking experience compared to 2. Far better. I am reverting back to that until there is an update to fix all these issues.

FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader is great combination of a PDF reader and an annotator. I have used it for some time now.
It will be great if FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader allows syncing across devices, I know it is not easy to establish its own cloud, but it can definitely store the files and annotations in the cloud like iCloud and DropBox, then if one opens other device and open from the cloud storage, the contents can be synced to other devices.
For example, another great app I’m using daily is MarginNote, it allows its own folder to be in iCloud, and the notes and mindmaps can be synced across the devices.

Flexcil was a near perfect study and note taking app. This update seems completely unjustified on the surface. And once a dedicated user delves in, annoyances, bugs and virtually no support for migrating will be found. Certain taught gestures and techniques from the first version oddly do not work anymore and there, is as far as I’ve seen so far, no mention of tutorials or introductions or explanations for the changes or what replaces them. The developers have made one of the biggest sins in product development: don’t fix or even tamper with what isn’t broken and has already been adopted lovingly by many users. Fools!

Have been using this thru my PharmD education and so far so good. Minor problems are : when vertically formatted files are getting processed, the images loose its original position and “disappear”. I guess that has something to do with the margins? But be aware of that. Also, when the document contains lot of handwritings, it glitches time to time. And I cannot use ctrl+F function for the handwritten notes. But overall it was a great purchase and I’m willing to use FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader continuously.

①When I create a link, I click it then, and I just jump to the page corresponding to the link, but the exact content of the link is often covered by the pop-up page of the note I opened, instead of automatically displaying link content on the other area of the screen (except under the note pop-up window); ②when I switch to another application and then open flexcil2, the position of the previous page will be reset to display the entire page, not the status when I leave FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader；③When I write with an Apple Pencil, the note pop-up window often shakes, and the palm rejection function still needs to be improved.

UPDATE: I would look elsewhere. The Flexcil team has completely failed. I am now officially in a search for a new provider.

Flexcil has been my go to app for more than a year. They must have fired the old team. They need to go back to the drawing board. I have spent thirty minutes this morning trying to select and paste to a workbook. They must have removed their prior tool that allowed you to do so. If they provided video tutorials that actually instructed you on how to do so that would be nice but instead they choose to shoot video from five feet away and at 2X speed to show how fast FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader can be but give no instruction. I have so much invested in Flexcil but will begin a search for a new tool. If anyone has recs please post.

I really liked Flexcil 1, but my favorite feature (horizontal scrolling showing 2 pages, but scrolling 1 page at a time) is gone. Also, swiping down with 3 fingers no longer closes notes.

A different reviewer mentioned an option to put notes to the side with the pdf on the other side. This would be an awesome feature.

Mostly enjoy the new interface though! My experience with migration was easy.

Reading multiple reviews for different talking apps, I realized it is relative to each person needs. For me, I really like flexcil 2 as it is providing me what I need for reading and highlighting PDFs and taking notes and most important to copy text to my notes and book’s attached notes pop up anytime when I need to take boots. In conclusion, any product has drawbacks but really search for what are your needs? and for me fkexvil is working fantastic.

Migrated to Flexcil 2 after having used paid version of the original Flexcil for a year. It's basically the same except with a design change which needs some getting used to, I do like the dark paper mode. The handwriting feels a lot smoother too which is nice... If you can get it to work. Handwriting is pretty much impossible due to the seeming lack of palm detection. The original Flexcil would occasionally fail at detecting palm but it wasn't too bad. Flexcil 2 refuses to write while my palm is on the screen which basically makes the entire app useless for school. Hopefully this gets updated before start of the school semester.

Love FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader but can you please bring back The way pages would scroll in flexcil 1. I liked that version because I could keep my notes on the left side of the screen and when I scrolled I could keep the pages on the right. Also, please allow us to highlight, make bold italic and underline while typing in our notes.

I have been a user of Flexcil 1 since 2018. Loved FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader and upgraded to standard version in Jan 2020. All was well until I tried to upgrade to Flexcil 2. When following the upgrade procedure, FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader Store failed to authenticate my purchase. Recommended troubleshooting was to reboot and if that did not work to remove FlexcilNoteGoodPDFReader and reinstall. Now not only will the purchase still not restore but my purchased version is now been downgraded to the free version. Reached out to developers and still have not gotten a response. Tried Apple support and they confirmed it is a problem with the developer. Not happy at all.

Wonderful tool for editing pdf, but there are some developments needed. The one I need the most now is the macos app. (Goodnote, notability all provides mac os app) i want to view the notes on my mac too

You’d think this would of been the first update.

Edit it still isn’t working for me. Nor is the gesture feature of, circling an image and dragging it to my notes. I’m not trying to be rude, I just legitimately am unaware if you guys know this is happening

For someone new to being paperless, the features are nice. HOWEVER, I am NOT able to renew Flexcil standard and I cannot access my files on there now. Get a more reliable note taking app.

Bold fonts are not displayed properly. Probably other fonts/styles either.

It was a pile of trash when it came to Appstore at the 1st time.
It stopped every moment.

For now,
It gets better.

But,
① still stops every 30 min,(NOT STABLE)
② not compatible with keyboard shortcut.
③ Not that fluent as I expected.
④ Can't overall its brother 'flexcil 1'.

Hope it gets better soon..

Used to be good App(previous version), not anymore. Should kick out from App Store : worst customer service. Just keep up with version 1.

what’s the point of making it free if you can’t even add a note
