Sonar: create worlds together Reviews

I’ve had Sonar for 6 months now and I have a love-hate relationship with this app. I love the concept, I’ve never been a prominent member of the gaming community or other apps like this, but I immediately felt at home. I loved expressing my creativity in building servers, and I was able to make many friends through Sonar. However… the community as a whole is very toxic. Bullying and harassment are extremely common, even amongst the users considered “role models”, such as the discord team or the new Valid badge holders. There is extreme bias in who gets punished for violating this app’s strict, “zero-tolerance” guidelines. While new, smaller and lesser known users may get banned immediately for small infractions, users that are affiliated with the right people can bully, harass, and mock other users on a regular basis with no action taken against them. I don’t believe this community is healthy within an app marketed towards younger users. I suggest there be limitations set on how much influence certain users have on the moderation team’s decision to correct the inappropriate and extreme behaviors. I believe the discord should be kept separate from Sonar itself, meaning the discord mods should have no power or influence within this app and are only there to oversee the discord server. If that cannot be done, I do not recommend Sonar for younger users. It is very damaging.

I think that is a great app I really do but there are some things that I think should be added. Number one I feel that you should able to change your name, I mean what if you don’t like the name you originally chose then what your just stuck there with a name that you don’t want to be known as. Number 2 you should be able to delete your account, your account should be able to be deleted that would add an addition to the settings menu which is another point there aren’t enough settings it’s just log out which is an inconvenience in a way. But despite all of these things I said it’s still a really good app being able to chat with friends and other people it’s great.

As a starting campaign in this applications premature stages Sonar has a good ideology of what our society will come into preexistent in the near future. Sonar allows you to have a interface much more convenient than Discord and Minecraft combined. The accessibility on Sonar allows you to engage in Sonar and allows to be able to be doing something else and that is what i love about it ! Seemingly Sonar has a bunch on momentum to be one of the most running apps in the future. Therefore, I hope the team of Sonar keeps pushing towards striving to more influencers so that Sonar can be potentially having competitions with more of the big developers such as instagram and facebook.

I don't normally leave reviews, but I love Sonar and I hate to see what happened to it. I will also send a email to customer support about this, I just want it to be fixed ASAP.

In the new MOJI/wallet update many servers both mine and my friends glitched. There are now "phantom blocks" as I call them. This use to happen as well but now leaving and re-joining won't fix it.

This isn't just me, all of my friends servers and games have the same problem.

One of my servers had many blocks that seemingly vanished, but upon further inspection I found that they are now un-movable and unable to be deleted. They are invisible so it looks like you could move there, but when you try you are pushed back.

I'm giving this game 4 stars so that if it gets fixed I don't forget to up the rating, but this is a very important issue.

Sonar does have its problems like slightly overactive banning(perm at banning is very uncommon) and somewhat toxic community I feel Sonar could use more moderation, but over active banning is much better than not banning at all. Overall it’s a fun app that has come very far in the 180 days I have played it. I felt as though I should review it as people usually only review a app when they have a problem with it. Sonar has a long way to go but it has been fun seeing it grow I hope it will fix moderation problems, as getting temporary banned can be annoying, but I know it is a small app and will take time to become a perfect one.

Idk why but i got banned for no reason. The game is fun but when you get banned they don’t give you any notice and they also don’t tell you why you got banned. I messaged their support account on twitter and they just said i was banned. I asked if there was any way to see the cause of the ban and they still haven’t answered me. You can get banned when literally anyone reports you, there doesn’t even have to be a reason, just if enough people report you for no reason then you will get banned (according to other reviews). In my opinion the ban system needs to be improved and the moderators need to be more professional. I don’t recall doing anything that could even gotten me banned, so it would nice if the game developers actually did something to fix this and somehow came up with a way to unban innocent people who got banned.

Let me tell you why… I was playing around for a day on here already made some friends and was overall having a really good time. Until I had figured out on my own that I was banned from Sonar for no reason… They don’t even let you know your banned Sonar just stops working, I had to find out from Reddit. There is no way to submit a rebuttal. My guess for the ban is people have public servers but the don’t want the public joining for some reason so as soon as you join the ban you from that server. Literally makes no sense, it happened like 10 times and I’m almost positive that’s why I can’t even use Sonar anymore. I tried to email the company to the email they left in someone else’s comment for the same thing and no response in 5 days. Clearly they don’t care about the people that use there app.

Once you get on Sonar, it's quite easy to figure out how the mechanics of Sonar works. It took me only a few minutes to adjust to it and start my own little hangout w my friends. Just one thing has been bothering me quite a lot; when you try to place an emoji more than once (or duplicate it) it takes a very long time, and the horn just keeps making that noise in which I can't turn off. It would be easier if the duplicate button and the horn button were sepereated. Other than that, Sonar works perfectly for only launching in 2021 or so.

When I first got Sonar I was able to enjoy comfortable chats with only a few weirdos in the mix, now Sonar has kind of divulged into this mixture of idiots saying the me word and spammers that just ruin the fun. Typically muting is the best option but when the whole community is full it’s kind of hard not to mute everyone. I also had bided my time building some interesting things all of which gain popularity quickly and were memorable maps. I can’t have much fun anymore like I used to. It’s not the devs fault really it’s more the player base it just makes me sad to have this happen to a pretty cool app.

i’ve been on this app for about 4-5 months and i’m that time i’ve made a lot of friends, ive also spent a lot of nights up on Sonar the thing i love about this app is how open concept and when i say that i mean how much freedom you have to do anything you want you can build in servers and even meet new people i like how the game developers are active with the community i’ve grown a bond with them, I really think this game is as good as it can be thank you hq:)

I love the game so far but I notice that it doesn’t have a lot droppable emojis. Like for example when I build my “house” I wanted to add a window 🪟 but I cannot place this down. It pretty disappointing to not be able to place a certain emojis down. I know some emojis can be made into inappropriate stuff but it just a window. If you consider adding more droppable emojis please add the following: 🧸🚿🛁🧺🧹🔮✉️🪅🛒🪞🧴🪥📫🗓🔒📹📷🔦📡🧯☎️⏰🖨🚲🎮🥇🥈🥉🏆⚽️🏀🏈⚾️🥎🎾🏐🏉🍩🍦🍧🍮🌤🐥🦉🐇🕊🎒 I’m sorry if some of these are already droppable which I’m sure not most of it.

I got Sonar yesterday it and it’s alright. Well, when I first started I got called a slur so that wisest very welcoming, but after figuring it out I feel right at home. Its fun to make room, use the emojis to build, though I feel like Sonar needs more structure. There should be a place were you can’t here the rooms like a Home Screen or something. Also more instructions for how to build and use signs and stuff I just had to learn how on my own.

So I completely am addicted to this and I really love this game! But I have an idea for the developers, so ik you guys are still like working on the emojis and like blah blah blah, but anyways so I love how you can build lobbies, have no problem with that. Also you guys can add like a thing where you have to wait to press the horn again like 3 seconds (to stop spammers because they are honestly annoying at this point). In general this game is super awesome and I recommend it 100%!

Sonar it’s self is great and the ad I got for it was top notch. However there is social injustice going and a lot of what I will call “trolls” on here that say slurs to the lgbtq+, black, and other communities. I know that given this is a new app and a new idea and it’s almost impossible to keep people from being mean to each other. But if you ever find a way to moderate things a little better Sonar could be huge!

I honestly love Sonar , its a great concept with great execution. i’ve had 0 problems with voice chat, 0 bugs, and everyone is really nice. I only wish there was a private room feature, or some way to play little minigames? idk, just some suggestions i came up with. anyways, i really enjoyed my first day on Sonar and i hope i can enjoy many more! thank you devs for working so hard on something like this ❤️

I like everything about Sonar . But now all of a sudden ppl have been complaining as much as myself about these glitches and voice mic cutting out. When we use a different app other the the this app app it glitches and sometimes kicks us. Also, we would have to restart this app sometimes bc it freezes and stops functioning. Can we please fix these major problems.

Hi i have more suggestions

1: i wish we can create more than 1 radio. Ik you can make as many signs as a server owner but not radios.

2: i wish i can duplicate my servers. For example; i have this hotel but it only fits 16 rooms in it. What i wish to do is to duplicate that server so i can have a second hotel that has 16 rooms in it making 32 rooms! Ik we can copy it emoji by emoji, but it takes a while.

3: i wish we can have multiple accounts so i can test stuff with a alt account or something. Ik we can use multiple devices for it but some people don't have 2 devices.

I may write more suggestions in the future but this is what i thought of.

It's really good but sometimes it bugs out for me, I'm gonna try to delete Sonar and install it again, but it spazzes out and I can't type it deletes it or dosent let me type at all, I thought it was my phone but it works fine until I get on Sonar , and it lags , but hopefully it dosent when I install it again, love Sonar tho, it's really good.

I removed one star because ever since my phone died in the middle of playing it I tried to log back in but nothing would load it won’t stop I click on explore but the loading button goes on forever my internet speed is extremely fast since I live near a cellphone tower but it doesn’t want to load please respond

It’s alright at first. I love the idea that you can chat with people while placing emojis around. It’s nice. However, I’ve already encountered suspicious people and possibly children acting sexual. I would actively see +18 servers that children can already have access to without a NSFW warning. this app is a good app, but the problems I’ve encountered are too significant to be ignored. I hope there will be an update soon to regulate servers and overall have better protection and security for everyone, especially individuals under 18 or lower.
