Tasks: Todo Lists & Kanban Reviews

Tried Tasks for free about three days ago, and enjoyed using it so much, I decided to just purchase the lifetime pass. Does everything I need, and has many ways to customize the task you create. While using Tasks , I requested a feature that I thought wasn’t available yet from the developer. And within 10 minutes he responds with screen shots and instructions for the very feature I thought was missing, which was the ability to add notes to your task. Not only that I also found out you can even add pictures to your task and many other things. I highly recommend Tasks, and will be telling friends and family about it also.

The title speaks for itself. Tasks : it’s functions, features, custom attributes are well thought out and perform as desired. That’s why it gets 2 stars. It’s nothing special per any other this app app except for how colorful it is. I will say similar yet better is the amount of colors that can be assigned per a project is wonderfully surprising vs. the native Reminders app.

Here’s the rub — Per the title, only two (2) projects and a third project pulls up the window pane to purchase Tasks and make it licensed. I think a trial for two projects is absurd. Give us at least 5 before requiring purchase. It just make me want to go back and use the Reminders app especially after looking at your pricing. Talk about greedy. If you’re going to charge a yearly fee it better come with new features monthly instead of additional users — this likely doesn’t help the average consumer. Ever heard of a tiered pricing structure for enabling features or added bonuses or a one time fee for X something or another? You’re app is just too expensive for what you get. I’ll go back to Reminders or another app called TickTick is also free regardless the amount of projects or this app you add.

The layout is clean, simple and efficacious for a productive day. I keep it open on my desk and all the proper dopamine responses are triggered when I tap a completed task and it move silently but triumphantly from the "Todo" column to "Done." Don't sleep on this one.

Review update: I reduced my star rating from 5 to 3. I still really like the potential of Tasks. However, I had hoped that I could create a work weeks' worth of projects at least, so that I could look back over my successes and challenges using this routine before deciding to upgrade to the paid version.

Unfortunately, I could only create two projects before payment was requested. The alternative was to delete the two existing projects and start over with a clean slate. That was not enough time to establish a habit or enough info to assess whether a year's subscription is worth the investment. It may not be a big deal for some., but I don't consider a year's subscription to be an incidental expenditure.

I’ve been using Tasks since the beta. It has a native iOS feel, more customization options than most task apps by larger companies and on top of that the developer is super responsive. All this from a developer that’s a 1 man team. Matter of fact I had a suggestion for a feature that would be super helpful to me and the developer responded agreeing it would be a great feature then a month later when that feature rolled out, he remembered me and contacted me directly letting me know he added and asked me to check out. Again Tasks is great, and the developer is dedicated to making sure he delivers great value to his customers. Can’t get better than that!

This latest version is a significant impprovement however:
1. I just found out that this app does not use the Share extension. I wanted to link a page from one of my apps with important info to a task, and found that this app does not show up in the list of supported apps. For an app that was built for MacOS and iOS from the start, this is a glaring deficiency.
2. Subtasks should be collapsed or displayed only within the task info; the number of outstanding subtasks/total tsaks should be displayed next to each task with subtasks.
3. Adding a note field is nice. There should be an icon next to each task or subtask that has an associated note.
4. We should have the ability to add notes field and image field to this app at Tasks preferences level so we do not have to repeat this for each individual task.

Beautiful, stylish, intuitive app. Like that it can be used like a kanban board as someone mentioned. I'm glad the developer is working on repeating this app. Would be nice to be able to arrange the projects in the order we want rather than just alphabetically. Another thing is that it is easy to add and reorder task statuses, but I see no way to delete a task status. Maybe I'm missing something, but that's a glaring omission if correct. Really some small improvements, happy the developer is responding to people. A few tweaks and this will be my task organizer going forward. Can't wait to see the macos version when it comes out.

This is an outstanding app that ingeniously combines the advantages of a light project management database with the visual cues of a kanban board. The result is software that allows users to configure workflows to their specific requirements. I have used many task managers/productivity software and not come across something as fresh and well-designed as this in several years. The developer would do well to build an actual website to promote this app (instead of linking to a social media account) as I think it takes a bit of experimentation to really get how Tasks works and to appreciate the power of user-defined statuses. Keep up the GREAT work!!

I've tried many (too many) task apps previously. Spent hundreds of dollars on the lot. And this is definitely the best one I've come across. I use it every day and all friends I've recommended it to love it. And, when somebody has a feature they'd like that's not already available, the developer reacts nearly immediately and most times (I've found) has been able to meet most requests. I actually can't remember one that he hasn't.

Give it a go and see for yourself.

Very easy to use and become proficient in its use. The user interface is excellent and easy on the eyes. The developer is one of the best I have ever worked with. He is very dedicated to making the application the best Task Application in the world. He is totally open to any suggestions and thoughts you have about his app. His communication with me on my feedback and suggestion is almost instantaneous. He really cares that his customers get their moneys worth. This application gets better by the day, not by the month. He is working very hard to get it right.

I don’t need Omnifocus, as good as it is to keep track of important projects but fairly simple ones. This is a great program to do that. It is new and the developer is a one-man band, meaning he did it himself, he answers his support requests personally and promptly. I don’t think you can ask for more than this, the price is great, multi device, useful.I contacted the developer the day I bought the program to ask about after adding a glyph. he immediately responded and offered to do it as soon as possible. That’s customer service!

I have used so many different task and to-do apps that it became a running joke. Tasks is the first one that gives me all of the flexibility and functionality I'm looking for, with room for more as I learn even more about what it is capable of.

On top of that, if you have a question or problem... Mustafa is ON TOP OF IT! I have had a couple of questions since purchasing it, and the responses have been quick and exactly what I needed.

I'd give this 10 stars if I could.

I love Tasks! My only suggestions are to let you set the status of a task when you create it, add support for using sublists instead of statuses, add support for selecting/editing multiple this app at once, and add the ability to have daily/weekly this app (for example, I have to vacuum my room every week; it would be cool if Tasks could automatically create that task for me every week). Other than that, Tasks is great. Simple enough to not be overwhelming, but complex enough to do what you need it to do.

There are about 2.83 million task tracking apps on Tasks store - heck, my own first app was a task tracker! this app, however is great - I had been held back from using it previously, because support on the Mac was a necessity, but it's here now, and this app is now where I track all of my personal work.

It's beautifully designed on each platform, and it oozes with the care that the developer has obviously taken in buildling it - so support a great Indie Developer, and start using this app!

Tasks is really good, for someone who has been using a task manager for more than 5 years now, this has a lot of potential and I like it. But, it isn't there yet, the tiny features, lilke being able to move this app with subtasks around, easy drag and drop, highlighting multiple, are things that make or break a task manager. So I'm going to partialy use Tasks while I stick with my former app. Can't wait to see where this goes!

Every review here is talking about the fantastic app, so clearly that goes without saying. Never written a review before but I need to compliment the developer’s incredible support. I had an issue with family sharing (which was probably due to an error on my part.) I reached out and within minutes he replied and worked with me to get the problem fixed.

I have been looking for a native iOS and MacOS app to manage my this app and keep various projects on track without the resource requirements of project management software. Tasks fulfills that requirement. It is easy to learn and intuitive. It also has a very responsive developer which a pleasant improvement over many other similar apps. Well worth the price.

Tasks itself feels like a refreshing step away from other applications in the space.

That said it seems like there are a lot of little UX and UI improvements that could be made.

Why 3 instead of 4 stars... Honestly the behavior of Tasks feels inconsistent in some places which is a jarring adjustment. That said I would be quickly ready to bump this to 4 or 5 stars with some small changes (Which have been reported)

Developer has made some great changes and is very passionate about Tasks. Great task manager application. The pro version is definitely worth the cost especially for those who use this app to organize their personal or work life. Even for small businesses you can get a lot out of the family plan. Looking forward to see the growth from such a great service.

I got Tasks to try it out, but now it is a daily thing! Tasks does have fifer premium, but you can enjoy it without it as well! It makes your day to day life feel like a video game and there is no better feeling then going to sleep knowing your lost is all on the “done” side. Would totally recommend! So far its okay... It keeps crashing which is very disapointing for the cost.
I would suggest adding an inline quick add feature and making the add box bigger. One other thing which is huge- allow users to add a list to an item. IE. grocery shopping.... show list and there is my list of groceries. Also allow for sharing amongst devices without having to pay more... this is disapointing... as so many apps allow this for free or at a basic subscription cost.

Love Tasks!!! It is clean and very elegant.

Privacy policy is spot on.

It is a good start but need some features and visibility to customers.

Do you have any webpage for features planned for near future? I see you have sub this app planned soon but do you have attachments to this app sub this app also planned?

Do you have any plans for repeated this app? I would love if you could support functionality like

- Drink water every hour between 9am to 5 pmon weekdays.
- take break every 2 hr between 9-5pm on weekdays etc.

There is no app/software in market which provide this basic functionality.

Would love to support with premium. Please let me know how do we get visibility of what’s been requested, planned and in execution.

I hate organising because it needs some disciple, while I like to work in an agile manner. Tasks somehow makes it look so easy to prioritise and plan thanks to its simplicity. Gone are the days of project management apps with corporate jargon. This approach is human. Congrats to the developer. Very stable app with tons of feature leveraging iOS

Projects and high level this app implemented through this app (and Reminders) progressing through a Kanban board set up in a fast-load format that includes copy and paste text from other apps converted to this app. Simply the best system I have used, and I have tried most. Extraordinary.

This is exactly what Reminders should become, an actual task app. However they have been too slow with updates so I’m moving to Tasks.

I downloaded Tasks about a week ago and I have been using it this entire week. It’s simple, easy to use and understand. I love the design of the application. I now use Tasks more than reminders!!

Well designed and very functional. Everything Apple Reminders has but includes better organization and customization.

Tasks helped me organízate my time better ,thank you creators ,I really needed Tasks because sometimes I don’t remember that to do and now I can do all the things to do I recommend u Tasks it’s 100%

I have tried just about every task management app out there, this one has not only great features and user interface, but also great support.

Can see replacing reminders app.
Some suggestions:
App badge for due today.
Need to be able to sort - at a minimum, be able to have todos In chronological order in today and this week.
Repeating todos are awkward to set up - if I set the date to “June 25” and then select repeat monthly, this should be automatically set to repeat on the 25th of each month.
Today widget would be nice.
Apple Watch app.

Tasks feels right at home on my iPhone and iPad but gives me all the flexibility I need to track my projects. I'm really impressed!

Liking Tasks but can’t fully support as I bought on IPad and downloaded to iPhone as well but it won’t restore my purchase on iPhone it’s aggravating since I can’t create task o. iPhone on the fly instead I have to reach into bag and tag out iPad to do that very inconvenient since I don’t always carry my iPad

I have an Apple Watch, I would like to see it in my apple watch :)
I think that would justify the price tag for Tasks after that.
