First off I’m 100 percent for quarantine and believe that installing app like this is absolutely necessary for containing infection. With that, I have a few criticisms to make about 자가격리자안전보호.
1. It tracks location 24/7 making it practically impossible for me to use the phone unless it’s plugged in the entire time. I have no problem giving location to the government but this is just beyond insane. It drains battery so fast that if I leave my phone for an hour or 2 it’s already almost dead
2. One of the designated government worker/official was extremely rude. The daily check in times were 9am and 4pm and just days after I started quarantine, I missed the 4pm check in time because I was jet lagged and 4:10 just 10 minutes past 4 I get an angry call from this guy telling me to do the temperature check and started threatening me that I will be sent to government facility if I don’t comply. Literally everyone was very nice to me but just that one guy was just unbearable leaving this whole experience with a bitter aftertaste.
I appreciate everyone working in the frontline of the pandemic and believe that 자가격리자안전보호 itself has no malicious intent what so ever but there’s clearly a room for improvement and for that reason I’d give 4 star

First, it speeds up battery consumption which makes it impossible to use the phone without a charger. I have once left my phone without my charger for a few hours without using it (including when I was sleeping) and the battery drain was outrageous. Not only that, but by requiring permission to use my location it implies the spying of some of its citizens by the government. Even though I understand that Korea is dealing with a global pandemic, and it is necessary for people not to breach quarantine, this still characterizes the government’s will to spy on its citizens by their locations and it is bullćrap. Lastly, it’s most dysfunctional algorithm is the warnings 자가격리자안전보호 gives me when the phone isn’t in motion for a longer period of time. That not only includes when a person possibly breaches quarantine rules by leaving house without a phone, but also when a person is not using his/her phone or is sleeping. Without regards to any of that, 자가격리자안전보호 warns me with a disturbing alarm if the phone is placed in a certain spot for a few hours, and then literally threatens to notify a local authority just because the phone lacks motion. This is the most dysfunctional feature I’ve seen on any app, not only because it is irritating but it completely misses its foremost purpose.

I keep seeing reviews talking about how horrible it is that the korean government is tracking their location, stealing their “personal data” and making them download this oh so terrible no good app. Get over yourselves. This pandemic is serious and they need to know that you followed the quarantine rules. If they dont have any method of tracking you while you stay here, they have no way to know whether or not you adhered to policy procedures. Honestly, I know that the majority of the people who wrote those types of reviews are American. I came to korea to stay with my family because of how serious covid-19 got in America. Over 11,000 infected in California alone, how am I gonna feel safe staying there? So stop complaining so much about how angry you are at the korean government because they care more about you than the american government. Angry about your data being used to protect you and other korean citizens? Maybe you should be more angry about facebook selling your data over seas. Get your priorities straight or just don’t come to Korea again if you’re so angry.

So I saw a comment about how the Korean government is 24/7 monitoring people with gps and following us. Well, this is an unusual case with covid 19. We are trying to keep the ones with potential spreads. This is an excellent method to keep everybody safe. To the one who wrote the comment about the whole “big brother” does not know anything about Korea, and if they do and live in Korea, I am ashamed that such thought can come out from a person. If you want to talk about the big brother, wrong place buddy. If you want personal liberty for your self over public health, go see a therapist.

South Korean government officials forced people from foreign countries to install this application. For the sake of “preventing” the virus, a lot of people think this is reasonable. South Korean government can track where people go. Suppose that digital virus, which can spread between smartphones, come out in the future. The virus can make a smartphone explode and hack bank accounts with small percentage as the lethality of CoVid 19 is low. Then, should we allow government to supervise people’s smartphones and ban all the communications sent by smartphones for the sake of “saving” people? If there are biological virus and digital virus, we might not be allowed to communicate with people. What a nice way to go to Communism! This level of supervision is mild compared to what I just said. 자가격리자안전보호 can be the first step to create Big Brother. It is ridiculous that Apple Store allowed 자가격리자안전보호. This is so outrageous .

So is our health. Don’t understand why people so concerned about their privacy. They don’t track you down what you are doing but just need to know whether you stay at your location or not just for two weeks. While millions of American and European die every day, Korean government is doing their best to contain the unprecedented virus. BTW do you know your smartphone and google track you down where you have been? and many apps have ability to locate where you are?

App interfering with your privacy? Annoyed that you are checked on when the phone is not in motion? Mad that they make you download 자가격리자안전보호 to enter the country? Well if you thought yes to any of the questions above, that mentality shows why the virus is not contained in your country. Be grateful the country didn’t even close the border once during the pandemic and get over it like an adult.

I know we are having a hard time on these days due to the Corona virus. But the more we do, the more we must help each other by reporting our symptoms. By doing so, we can break away from now and hang out with family. So guys, cheer up and we are rooting for each other, right?

If you try submitting your daily checks, there are SEVERAL instances of 자가격리자안전보호 glitching and never submitting then you get a call from the office saying that they assumed you escaped quarantine when in reality this hot garbage of an app barely works.

Second, internet doesn't work well? Your fault. Wherever you stay, if the internet doesn't work well, you get bombarded with calls assuming you've escaped quarantine yet again. Despite having absolutely NO control over it, they give you a bad rep.

자가격리자안전보호 is absolutely horrible and I hope the developers do something to fix all these bugs. It's as if they hired high school computer science classes to create this hot mess.

While some people might view this as infringing their rights too much, this is an absolutely necessary measure in preventing COVID spread in Korea. Heck people in the States doesn’t even want to wear masks for the sake of freedom. The Korean population need to be defended from those kind of idiots. If you don’t agree, you are putting the safety of the Korean people at risk.

Never had any actual technical issues with 자가격리자안전보호 . It works just fine, as intended. No battery drainage (?) etc.

Don’t come to Korea if you don’t want your “freedom” infringed upon during a global pandemic, residing in one of the safest places to be precisely for reasons some are so upset about. Get over it or get out, sincerely a fellow American.

If you can’t cooperate, just don’t even come to Korea. You guys are shaming a country that is trying its absolute best to prevent this virus from spreading when you can’t even stay indoors for 14 days? People like you are the reason why there is a global pandemic. Get over it guys.

Korea is a backwards country. It’s effectively a house arrest without a warrant.

자가격리자안전보호 uses location 24/7 and sends notifications constantly. How can I check my temperature when I don’t have one and it has not been provided to me?

Checks activity so I have to pick up my phone once in a while. IPhone GPS is glitchy and it has been a noted problem by even Steven Wozniak. So when it glitches and the government which monitors me 24/7 notices it (and believe me they do because I got a call several times even if I did not go outside at all), they call me and I have to send them a picture.

It is a nightmare.
