Good review

LingoDeerPlus isn’t bad, it’s a pretty fun review app, but that’s all it is. It gives you new (seemingly random) vocab and grammar exercises and has you review them in little mini games. If you come in as a beginner learner it’s mildly inconvenient because while it’s easy to get the right answers after a few tries, it doesn’t do a good job of explaining how or why to grammaticise correctly. So if your at an intermediate level maybe this is LingoDeerPlus for you, but if you know the content already I don’t see why you’d get pay for LingoDeerPlus when you can review on your own with your own methods that would probably help you more. Maybe having this as supplement to the original lingodeer was what this was meant for, but I also don’t see why you’d get LingoDeerPlus then, because if you get the original then you can review either with it or in your own way, so it seems like a waist of money to get this. But maybe it’s just me and I don’t understand because I’m not the demographic. So while it’s not bad, it’s not outstanding enough to recommend it to anybody.

Can we label the levels??

It touts itself as a language review app. It has a few games and different levels of the games which are good. Doesn’t have the versatility of the mind snacks language game that I had bought for five dollars and now is no longer supported by the phones. My main complaint with it is that it labels every level by a level number but that makes it very hard to go back and review some things such as types of rooms, colors, automobiles, etc. i’m writing this review in hopes that they’ll adjust this so that either individuals can label the levels to make certain topics easier to find or they will do so themselves so that you can see what clump of words is covered by each level making it easier to review. I don’t want to have to go digging through all the levels to find the one set of verbs that I want to refresh my memory on. This should be something that’s already set up for ease-of-use in a language review app.

Since day one

I remember downloading LingoDeer the beginning or middle of 2017. And I’ve used the 1st app a lot and I would use it when I would have free time. LingoDeer really did improve my Korean and it helped me remember the alphabet. but I would always forget words in Korean, but now since you created this second app. I was kind of skeptical, LingoDeer plus is so captivating and easy! It’s so useful and it helps me remember my Korean vocabulary in a fun and educational way. I’m very happy to be using LingoDeer+ and LingoDeer! I’ve been with LingoDeer for quite a long time and to be honest, I deleted many of my other language learning apps because it did not help me the way LingoDeer did! I love this new app!

Gaming setup

The new LingoDeer has set this up more like a game with similar audio and content. I am not sure why it deserved a separate app. Are they discontinuing the other app shortly after they charged for it? It seems like a grab for cash instead of improving the other app. Should we expect new apps rather than big updates like Memorise or Duolingo does? Sorry if I am suspicious. I have only used it for a day. I have used the original app daily for just under a year (I paid lifetime). The new app is fun. Before I pay the lifetime again, I want to know the intention.

By the way the “Super great!” review is deceiving. Two weeks of playing a language game does not equip one for a “conversation.” LingoDeerPlus has existed 6 days and they have been using it for “two weeks.” Hahahaha

Post reply

Thank you for the reply. Also I have sent my comments via LingoDeerPlus “contact us” section. My tickets are missing the next day with no response. It might be a glitch.

Still not happy with the separation. I would be just as frustrated with a Duolingo 2 or Memorise 2. Mondly has a 2 but it is for kids so it makes sense.

I hear you on “super great.” It still reads like a paid review. It includes advertising cliches that people seldom say in real life ;)

Nice Concept but...

I like the idea of a more fun extension to LingoDeer but it has flaws that is making uninstall LingoDeerPlus . The first flaw is that the audio only works for some words. Sometimes you would get a question that requires you to hear the word in the language you are learning and it would be silent and you have to guess what the answer could be. You never know which words would do that. The second flaw is they only let you play two to three levels before telling you to get premium. They won’t let go past that and you can’t do nothing else in LingoDeerPlus . I’m not paying 4.99 a month for an app that doesn’t work right. I really do like the idea of LingoDeerPlus and waited a long time so see some games from LingoDeer but I guess my expectations were too high. I’ll stick with the original LingoDeer.

Worth the buy!

All the games are so fun! The levels and games all fit together so you learn the vocab words and the grammar. I used the other app and a lot of their grammar points are reinforced in LingoDeerPlus. I am really glad I decided to buy because I finally found and app that makes me feel like I’m challenging myself without making me furious. I also love the little touches they do with each of the games that have their own narrative behind them (the animations are precious!). Also the pronunciations and reviews at the end are very helpful. I’m looking forward to learning everyday with LingoDeerPlus!

Ok, could be improved

Developer: It would be nice if each section had a review option! Ex: Word Express has that green review button, but many others like Speed Reply do not.

I’m almost 100% finished with LingoDeerPlus, and I finished LingoDeer app for Korean twice over. I would say this is a helpful supplement, it gave me something to do if I didn’t feel like doing any real studying that day. I really like the phrases section and the integrated section. LingoDeerPlus does give you many different ways to review the same material (from spelling to listening and sentence making), so I still think it can be worth the time. Especially if you’re consistent.

Japanese Kanji

I think both LingoDeerPlus and the regular Lingodeer app should add more games/lessons that focus solely on Japanese Kanji and adding more kanji aside from the first 100 given on the main app.

On the topic of kanji, I think LingoDeerPlus’s vocab list needs an option to zoom in on it. It may be difficult for people to see it well enough to memorize it prior to playing.

Other than that, I think both apps are very good and helpful. Despite being considered “intermediate”, I still bought both apps because I think the “Lingo Deer” is very cute. Definitely recommend it to people who are purely beginners looking to learn 1 or multiple languages.

So so worth it!

I’m not really one to write reviews, but LingoDeerPlus has made me do it. Lingodeer itself is a very high quality app that’s sole mission is to help its users learn different languages. I’ve been through many language learning apps, and none of them seemed to fit until I found LingoDeerPlus. It’s a very fun and challenging experience that keeps you on your toes and excited to learn! Lingodeer has helped me with my journey of learning different languages! :-) So much so that I downloaded the rest of their apps and I’m not disappointed!!!

Fun for what it is!

If you like puzzles/brain games, generally like to gamify your learning, or just want to casually review a language you’re learning, then this is a nice app! It’s cute and I love anything that gives me points (even if they’re more or less meaningless). I recommend using it with the OG LingoDeer app especially if you’re just starting with a language, or use it to supplement some other learning activities/curriculum.
4 stars for what it’s for, but considering it’s $60 or a (pricey!) subscription for a non intensive language practice (not learning) app..... not really a bang for your buck. Really depends on what kind of learner you are.

Worth a try and a purchase

Even after I have taken like a five month break from LingoDeerPlus , I’m amazed by my retention and encouraged by the interactive nature of the game. The fact that I can still remember what I have so far is amazing. Imagine if I would’ve kept up with it! 🤷🏽‍♀️Well I’m here now, and I am doing so much better than I thought I would and having so much fun learning Japanese. This simple game version makes it easier for me to see the payoff of my purchase. Don’t hesitate to get this for yourself as an adult language learner.

Love it

I just adore LingoDeer and I’ve been on their bandwagon a long time now. Their standard app is bar-none the best language learning app available, and I’m soooo glad that they finally have LingoDeerPlus for practicing too. I’m particularly a huge fan of their listening games, because I feel like that’s what I lack the opportunity to do the most. When I see translations, my brain is just drawn to trying to read it instead of processing what I’m hearing - so the listening games are invaluable to me. Keep up the great work!!

Loving it but

I haven’t used LingoDeerPlus for and extensive period of time but from first use I really like it! I’ve been looking for more game oriented apps to help me learn korea, so I was very happy to see Lingodeer+

I’ve been using Lingodeer for some time now and its definitely the best app I’ve used so far to actually help me learn in a useful manner. My only downside is that you have to pay for two separate subscriptions. I wish pre-existing members could have full access without paying another fee or if there was a bundled cost for full access to both apps.

This is what I’ve been searching for

LingoDeerPlus is truly amazing!

As someone who’s done plenty of vocab drills and flashcards for my target language before... I’ve got an understanding of words, but I’ve never been confident in my grammar. I’ve gotten to the point where I can read okay (not that I know tons of verbs, but I can get by with a simple enough book - like kid level stuff) and I’m trying to pick up on grammar through reading, but I’ve always wanted more exercises like the one I was taught when learning my native tongue and that’s exactly how I feel with LingoDeerPlus.

A Great Learning Tool and Learning Supplement

LingoDeer really helped me get ready for my first Chinese class! I had never learned it going into college, but my professors continue to be impressed with how well I’ve been picking up and applying classroom lessons thanks to my extra practice and exposure to the language on LingoDeer and LingoDeer+. That, and LingoDeerPlus being super cute and easy to use makes it 5/5 for me. (There’s also not a scary owl to worry about murdering you in your sleep, only a deer you don’t wanna make cry.)

Use this WITH LingoDeer or a textbook

This isn’t going to teach you a language although you’ll probably learn a fair amount of words. This is a really good REVIEW app. You need to learn grammar and the 3 alphabets elsewhere. I use LingoDeerPlus in tandem with the regular LingoDeer app, WaniKani, and a textbook. It’s amazing at what it does.

I highly recommend you get about halfway through the Basics on lingodeer before using the majority of the (grammar) games but the vocabulary building games can be used pretty much from the start.

Great, but Chinese needs another type of practice.

First off, LingoDeerPlus is amazing! I am currently learning German and Chinese, and both are great, especially as a supplement to the normal LingoDeer app. However, if it is possible in the future, PLEASE add a measure word exercise for Chinese. For example, guess the measure word, in which a noun is presented, and the user selects the correct measure word. That would be extremely useful.
As LingoDeerPlus is now though, it’s still great, and at the moment, I own lifetime memberships for both, and it was worth the price both times.

Not great for new learners

I got this to practice vocab and I think once I get more advanced, it might be more useful. However, it gives too little context and Im just memorizing phrases and spellings in an attempt to not get so frustrated I rage quit. Because of this, when I leave LingoDeerPlus I have almost no recall for what I’ve learned (and I’ve guessed so many times on some of the words and phrases incorrectly that I have more than one pattern in my head. :()

Anyway, more context other than the little deer just doing his thing would be nice. Or, I guess I’ll eventually get good enough that it’ll be useful.

By

Double dip.

Users shouldn’t have to pay a second sub fee to get these features. There should be one app with all the features of the two applications combined. This just seems like a money grab to me and I’m disappointed by the LingoDeer team on the decision especially because in the main app you cannot get rid of the new app notification. Also I work in customer service so don’t even bother with your “We’re sorry to hear that, but this is how it is” response.

I’m language building

I’m using it for structural integrity for stability of my soul at exchange value. I’m dealing with a lot of accommodations for other templates that are equipment for even having a Heaven. I’m making sure that I will stay around forever and be of some good use. Even though we’re in Scenericals. I’m trying to eventually get us out. I pay for membership and have to get accommodations for those at soul value.

Awesome

I use LingoDeerPlus to help with my Korean and Mandarin vocabulary, sentence structure, and grammar. In my opinion, LingoDeer is not meant to be use as a sole resource to learning a new language. However it is a helpful building guide for your studies. I also love the fact that you can remove romanization. This is helpful if you want to learn the language straight, without the “helping aide” of romanized words. I just wish there was a lifetime LingoDeer+ purchase option.

Great App but the Price Hurts

LingoDeerPlus is excellent. It’s well developed and the games are fun. It definitely has helped me study Korean, and I really enjoy it.

I held back one star for the cost. Even at the initial 50% off - yikes! At first I thought it was subscription only, which was not something that made sense to me. Then I saw the lifetime offer and really struggled. I love LingoDeerPlus , but $60 for access to the content...it just feels crazy, especially considering the other content out there and the other price points.

I love you guys but your pricing is reaching for the stars.
