I liked Promova learning format and structure. However, advanced words and phrases are very limited. I purchased Promova thinking that I will get new words and phrases on a regular basis. However, it doesn’t seem like it. I completed my whole advanced lessons and now I am left with no advanced words and phrases to learn. Also, although it says advanced, only a few are advanced. What kind of advanced learning is learning living room, bedroom , kitchen ? Promova is good but lacks good amount of words and phrases. I can have a better word and phrases database for you to use into your app. I don’t understand how difficult it is to just update the database content. I am seeing Promova already got similar reviews in the past.
I want to request for a refund of my purchase. I don’t want to waste $20 on something that’s not useful to me.

App is great but there are areas that need improvement. I am a native Sinhalese speaker ( Sri Lankan ) and Promova does not support that language. I don’t have a way around to use Promova without selecting an other language as my mother tongue. I believe option for choosing English as the native language should be there. This would be a workaround for people like us. I don’t mind seeing explanation in English for all these sections. Also, app can consider to include Sinhalese as an option as there are 15-18 million Sinhalese speakers and language is already supported in many other places ( windows , google , etc..). Also, there is a high demand for Learniñg English in the country.

I think the advertising could have been more direct about who the target audience for Promova is. I downloaded thinking it was a means to enhance my vocabulary in my native tongue. I quickly discovered that this was not the case. So, wanting to give Promova another chance, I pursued improving my intermediate Spanish skills. Selecting “English” as your native tongue wasn’t a choice when it came to learning another language. I could choose Korean as my native language (if that was my native language) and choose Spanish for the language that I wanted to learn. I could pick German to Spanish, but I could not pick English to Spanish .

Promova claims to boost your vocabulary but its designed for people who have minimal understanding of the English language. Anyone with a high school degree will realize that Promova will add little to nothing to their vocabulary. Even their “Advanced” section has basic words like “agenda” or “flawless” (I’m not kidding you thats the most advanced level you’ll find). That might be useful to someone who is just beginning to learn English but its not even middle school level vocabulary. They also charge OUTRAGEOUS AMOUNT OF MONEY. An “auto-renewing WEEKLY SUBSCRIPTION OF $9.99.” They ripped me off for the lifetime subscription with a $50 cost. In my 12 years using Promova store and downloading countless apps I have never written a negative review until now. They are total SCAMMERS.

I really like Promova overall, except the translations. The translations from one to another language are not consistent with the drawings and long explanations in the same language (since one word can have many meanings). It’s so annoying and confusing that it distracts everything else. It would be even better to have the options to exclude all the parts with translation in it.

I found Promova quite nice but after going through the introduction “test” for the level of the english language I found out that the vocabulary is too limited for advanced level. In order not to miss and pay subscription that I doesn't want I checked in the subscription in my apple id account and in the application. My subscription plan was not there. After 7 days I was billed for the monthly subscription (which I didn’t want) and I am very angry. Looks like the developers intentionally made cancellation not easy (by writing an email to them). Very disappointed!!!!!😠

My favorite part was English to English section. If you could do more of that - more people would sign up. It’s so much fun to learn the language with explanations in that language for advanced learners. Advanced vocabulary didn’t impress me, there were things like “Thursday, Wednesday, Santa Clause”, I wouldn’t call it advanced vocabulary. Other than that, great app, so many games, you learn new words fast and effortlessly!

I download it to learn more “advance” vocabulary but Promova is “teaching you new language” which is not what I intended to do. Anyway, I put down my mother tongue which is chinese and it had horrible translation. Simplifies chinese mixing with transitional Chinese. What a ridiculous mistake. It’s like mixing English with spanish together. And the my mother language Chinese translation in Promova was harder to understand than the English words I am going to learn.
Promova needs better quality control and it’s way advertising it’s product.

I was promised a personalized plan for advanced vocabulary leaning. I spent the time taking the assessment and bought Promova subscription, but was never able to find my plan. I reached out to customer service and when I finally got a reply from the team, after more than a week, I got this standard message asking me if my request was still valid, then my ticket was closed right away without allowing me to reply. Reached out them again and still no answer. Very dissatisfied.

The ad showed someone improving on their English. It was displaying ways to enrich the English language, taught in English.
So I downloaded Promova and the first question they ask? What language do you want to learn? Seemed weird if I was going to enrich the English language. But maybe I could select English and there would be a way to select that later...
Nope! The next question was what is your native language? And because I’d already selected English, it was not an available option. I was annoyed this was nothing like the ad, but now was curious.
I picked a language I could read, and before it would launch me into Promova , it required me to either purchase their program, or give payment info for my 7 day free trial. I declined both, but was never able to enter Promova .

The ad I saw implied that I would learn better English vocabulary. Yet, when I open Promova it asks what language I want to learn. I don’t want to “learn” per se. So I picked English, my native tongue. Then it asks my native language. Well, English, but now I don’t even have that choice. The name is Word Booster. I want to BOOST my words, not learn a new language of words. Oh, I guess once you go further, you can pay a whole ton of money for English to English.

But the one and only problem for me is Promova’s only available on iPhone, iPod and Macs, we, most of students and kids uses iPad for Learning languages or some educational stuffs.. so If you launch iPad version, I’ll be so glad. I wanted to cancel my subscription and get my money back. it was their mistake, because the application says that I do not have a subscription to them, but they withdraw money. I asked to cancel the subscription and return the withdrawn money, but in response I received requests to stay and then they simply closed my question and no longer respond to letters. money is not refundable. do not recommend this developer!

I was excited to use Promova seeing all the advertisements on social media, I couldn’t start off from the very second sign in question about native language. I am from Nepal and I couldn’t find any option for Nepalese language in the section. My suggestion is that it is better to acknowledge language and people from various countries which helps building a strong diverse client background.

Through an Instagram ad, I responded to a free trial and then after trying it decided I was not interested. Within a day, I messaged the support team through Promova and asked for a cancellation. They asked me why and I said I wasn’t interested. They tried to give me other offers which I ignored. I just found out they charged me $20 and I am absolutely furious and have opened a PayPal dispute.

Saw the Words Booster ad on Instagram. Paid on their website. I haven’t received any confirmation from them but paid with my credit card. Now I have Promova , but very disappointed with it, and it’s impossible to cancel premium subscription if you pay not via Apple Store. I emailed the Words Booster team, no response for days. Please be aware and report them to Apple Store. Scammers!

They need a better grasp on appropriate app pricing on the US market. It offered me a 7 day free trial, after which I’d be billed $7.99 a week. That’s $32 a month or $415 a year for a vocabulary learning app? Absurd. I could do an actual course in French with a teacher for that amount of money.

Useless. The ads on Instagram and/or FB (can't recall which or if both) made it look like what I was looking for, videos with good practice for Spanish. I signed up for the month trial. It's mostly the usual vocabulary and grammar practice and below my level but I can't see how to up the level. Worst is that the videos are for learning English and there's no way to change it. I wrote to support twice and got no response. I cancelled.

I thought I would have access to a listening text with new words and expression to learn, like the add was. I paid for a month of advanced course. When I got into the course I realized it was only single words to repeat like a parrot, no text, no listening and reading at the same time like in the add. It was so ridiculous that I did it only twice and admit I have lost 20€. But now I realized they have charged me a second month and this time was 30€!!! Pirates!

This is a scam product and a thieving company. They don't react to cancellations or claims. Apple Store and Google Play should be ashamed for working with such fraudulent app producers and offering such scam apps. Beware. This guy based in Greece and they are scammers. I was on 7 day trial and there was no way to cancel via Google play unless you message words boosters. so during trial i sent them email to cancel subscription and they did not respond for a month saying they cancelled but I still was charged 19.99 USD. I was also foolish to pay for life time access another 50 bucks. Of course google play won't refund and words boosters just will not respond back. Shameless scammers

First of all, they did not give the trial expiration notification to me, they directly deducted my amount from my given card. Secondly, I purchased this by seeing an Instagram ad where they asked me to pay only one dollar so I paid, but now after a week they automatically deducted the amount. When I see into my app, there are no ways to cancel the subscription, either we should block our card or beg them to cancel. one good thing will tell you, from the app if you raised any request they cancel feedback and closed the ticket, but they are active on the google play store and apple store to say sorry for the inconvenience message to the people. They are doing SCAM very smartly under the hood of technology .

After downloading they get 1 dollar + tax for free week))))) As soon as I started to use this app I understood that its not an app for 15 $ + tax for month and deleted it. But today after 1 week they get 15 $+ tax as auto payment for app... interesting is that They did not write anywhere that the app will get money after 1 week and more interesting is that You cant do anything)))) There is no opportunity to unsubscribe through Google play... A total scam. I purchased the premium access and 2-month PDF online courses. I never received any PDF files. App shows potential, but definitely still needs a lot of work. I sent a complaint but was not given any response. I just sent a subscription cancellation email. I'm worried that I might have to make a call to my bank so the next monthly bill won't be charged to my credit card.

This app is a complete scam. Do not download or give them money. I saw an advertisement on Instagram as a vocabulary builder and it showed interfaces and examples that were terrific ways to incorporate better words. The app is nothing like the advertisement, and in the comments of the add, they said I had to "unlock" that feature, so I paid the $49.99 fee via Apple Store, and it is nothing even remotely like the advertisements. This is a language tool for foreigners and looks nothing like the advertisement I saw, and also provides zero services similar to the advertisement. I deleted the app with 5 mins and requested refund for which I was denied by both the app producer and Apple. Apple should be ashamed of themselves for working with such a fraudulent app maker, and for stealing money from good people.
