Don’t let the rating fool you. This app is not worth it.

I wish I had read the reviews before purchasing this. I saw it had 4.5 stars but I don’t know why. For the amount WalkingWeightLoss costs it should be much better than it is. Too many glitches and not intuitive to use at all. I really wish I could get a refund, because, after using it once I don’t plan on using it again because the experience was so bad. WalkingWeightLoss won’t operate in the background like most fitness apps do do when I went to something else on my phone or when it went into power saving mode it didn’t count my steps. Also when you select music to play through WalkingWeightLoss it lowers the volume when the instruction voice comes on but when it stops it does not raise the volume back up. So I had to turn the volume up on my headphones. Then without warning it would raise that volume back up and blast the music in my ears. You also can’t use it with your Apple Watch so I have to pull out my phone every time I want to check my progress. The free basic Apple fitness app is ten times better than this and FREE! If you are going to charge for something it should offer something more.

Not worth it!

WalkingWeightLoss isn’t nearly as effective or easy-to-use as advertised. The beginning seems promising as you put in your goals, weight, etc. but once you pay for the subscription, you quickly realize it’s not worth it!! You cannot view a workout plan as advertised and it doesn’t accurately track data. WalkingWeightLoss would be better if there was a calendar with an actual walking workout plan that users could view including expected length and duration of walks. As is, WalkingWeightLoss is not conducive to a lifestyle that involves planning. Also, a huge fault is that it does not connect to any devices or app such as an Apple Watch or Fitbit for data. Basically WalkingWeightLoss uses phone data only so you always need to have your phone with you in order for it to track data like steps. I was very disappointed to find this out as WalkingWeightLoss does not appropriately track or gather correct data of my movement. For example, my health app and Apple Watch app currently say I have about 1,200 steps for the day but because I wasn’t holding my phone for them, WalkingWeightLoss says I only have 66. Confusing and not worth the price. Save your money!!!

Wait. I need to learn how to use it.

I couldn’t make sense of how to use WalkingWeightLoss. Still a bit fuzzy to me, BUT, their support cares enough to get back to questions and try and clarify how WalkingWeightLoss works. If you are new to WalkingWeightLoss, take time to explore the work outs and ask questions. The aha moment for me to unlock a better understanding of it: The duration of the walk and time of completion will vary upon your pace. Likely obvious to most, but to me it was not. I followed what the target speed was supposed to be and assume I’d complete de work out based on what the workout preview said. I suggested WalkingWeightLoss offered a way to allow users to set their own work outs based on time and pace for some of us with domination and control issues. :-) I will stick to it for a moment. What WalkingWeightLoss has that most don’t is variety. Variety matters a lot when it comes to walking.

No way to test without immediately signing up

Am I missing something? I’ve never purchased a membership to use an app sight unseen. I don’t have a problem paying for a subscription AFTER I see that it’s some worthy of my payment. No trial period plus lots of tracking info sold to who knows who all add up to a major turn off. I’d also like to add that attempting to leave this review required typing this part in another app and copy pasting. Is there some attempt to stifle unfavorable feedback?

Thanks for reaching out. I did sign up and completed the process. It’s not for me. WalkingWeightLoss was glitchy and did not track well. The program also did not seem to take my original responses into consideration for the program is developed. I told it that I walked at least 3x week and about an hour a day. The suggestion was to walk for 30 minutes. Still not impressed but it might work for someone who is not so active.

I haven’t been fooled in a while

I’m currently out of shape. Haven’t gone to the gym in over 6 months. Gained all the weight back and just wanted to get back into shape. The introduction and process of how it asks you what your current body type is and where you want to be was the attractive part. I didn’t mind paying $4.99 for a week to see how it goes as WalkingWeightLoss promises a personalized exercise routine based on the set up. Once you pay then you are prompted to pay for something else I don’t even know what for. Like it was so complicated to understand I was like nope. Once I bypassed that I then was granted access to WalkingWeightLoss and it is also complex to look at and nothing like the demo they bait you with. I should’ve read the reviews first, the real reviews say the same thing. WalkingWeightLoss is basically a scam and not useful for any reason other than taking your money. I’ll be requesting a refund.

Not as advertised or worth any $$

First off they rope you in with screen shots from WalkingWeightLoss Store that look wonderful and then when you download the product they demand you purchase it to enjoy it right off the bat with no trial period (1st sign of a scam), then I faithfully believing the product offered as advertised the screens shown from WalkingWeightLoss Store and described there. However after purchasing the 1 year subscription I was opening a simple step counter and guided walking excersize tool. WalkingWeightLoss did not perform at all as described in WalkingWeightLoss Store or have screen graphics such as the ones they offer there as well. In fact the walking and heart fit manufacturer app was offering more than this one and made me worry that this is only a “SCHEME “ used to lure people like me to pay for useless apps. And I messaged everyone and am as of yet unable to cancel and get my money back.

more development needed

i thought WalkingWeightLoss had promise! i checked off every box necessary, then whabam! i have to pay to lose weight, just like majority of every weight loss program. if you want consumers downloading your app, make their plan free, make sure there’s a post notifications option to remind your customer that there is walking that needs to be done. if you want to make money, there should be an extra plan that a consumer can purchase that includes diets, gaining muscle, or even workouts focusing on one part of the body. i guarantee, people who see that they have to pay will delete WalkingWeightLoss as fast as they saw it. to make your consumer buy, you already have to offer something spectacular! for instance, in games people enjoy they have to work for a lot of the stuff they want/own in the game, and usually there’s features where you can buy more, or buy a premium. i think, that is a rather suitable for WalkingWeightLoss, you offer the walking plan first for free, and advertise other plans the consumer can buy like exercises and diets. hope you take this criticism for good!

“Contact us” isn’t working

I was planning on using WalkingWeightLoss for my very first time this morning. I clicked on today hoping I was going to get a preview of the workout but it started running the timer instead. I tried reaching out to support to help me get it reset to todays workout because I am now automatically on day 2, but the contact icon isn’t working …. I don’t want to rate this as a bad app so I’m hoping someone on their team will respond to this review and tell me what to do. Not really enough instruction on how to use WalkingWeightLoss unless I’m just missing it? Don’t give up on WalkingWeightLoss…..that’s not what this review is about.

Do not buy

Do not buy WalkingWeightLoss. Your phone already does all that it offers. After purchasing there are multiple prices listed but it forces you to pay the highest offering and at least a month subscription to get started. WalkingWeightLoss claims to provide you with a plan but in the set up - you set all the numbers yourself. WalkingWeightLoss then requests access to your phone’s fitness tracker to use their step data. All it does it track your steps that your phone already does. No plan created as it advertises. No recommendations- you set the plan, your phone does the tracking. Waste of money. Also, before you can see a single thing, it is already pushing other expensive products.

Walk fit app

First when you sign up I was not able to choose a free trial. It only let me choose the option of $4.99/week and the was for the whole month. Which I would have chosen just one week to start , but it took my payment for the whole month. When I went in the agreement rearms it showed a $4.99 for just the week if you want to cancel it . But again it would not give me that option. Also when it shows the chart with your weight and height once I downloaded WalkingWeightLoss I could not find any charts to look at to see how much walking to do. So I would only rate it a 2.

By

Hard to use

WalkingWeightLoss will be good one day. Right now it is a mess. It stops the timer when you lock the phone so you have to run with the phone unlocked in your hands. Also it lowers the music when the voice comes on and you have to go to the music app (timer stops when you do that) then you have to pause the music and resume. Then you go back to WalkingWeightLoss to resume the timer and have to keep WalkingWeightLoss open. Every time the voice comes on you have to do it again. All of this becomes quite fun when you are running. Quite disappointing.

Update: I did contact your support and I was told to cancel my subscription.

Help who do I call!

I paid for a year on WalkingWeightLoss Feb 22, 2022. It was working fine and today I open WalkingWeightLoss and it’s asking me to pay again. I’ve only had it for two weeks. Who can I call to figure this out. It has no customer service number. And I have done all that I can do on my end and it is not rebooting WalkingWeightLoss . I have a copy of my purchase and an up to date iPhone so there should be no reason as to why WalkingWeightLoss just all of a sudden when back to main page. It won’t let me in to all I have done for the past 2 weeks. Please someone leave an email in response or a phone number. So we can figure this out.

Offensive Paid App I Will Not Use

For starters, it asks if your body type is “flabby”. I’m not sure if WalkingWeightLoss was created by an English-speaker, but that word is considered derogatory— not a great start, WalkFit.

Second, they ask for height and weight (fine) to calculate BMI, even though BMI has been widely discredited as even an indicator of health— activity, not weight, is a greater indicator of overall health.

Third, it looks to just be a paid app with no free option. I couldn’t find a way to X out of the page with paid plans. So answering all their questions was a waste of time as I don’t want to pay to have an app tell me to walk.

By

Money pit

I seldom leave a 1 star review. WalkingWeightLoss is misleading. It asks for a paid subscription and even after you choose a level you feel comfortable purchasing, it forces you to buy add ons. It says add ons are optional but you can’t go past the screen. If you leave WalkingWeightLoss you have to re enter the entire information from scratch. Remember if you made the mistake of signing up for paid subscription you need to go in your settings and unsubscribe. Deleting WalkingWeightLoss will not get rid of the paid subscription.

I unsubscribed in 10 minutes. Save your time and find something else that fits your fitness needs.

If you have an Apple Watch don’t bother

I paid for the subscription thinking I’d be nice for someone to look at my goals and tell me “this is how you can get there.” Well they kinda told me how to get there with goals that aren’t explained well within WalkingWeightLoss . Also, WalkingWeightLoss will not pull workout data from your Apple Watch and does not record when in low power mode. I just went for a mile and a half walk this morning before work (about 5,000 steps for me according to my watch) and my app is saying I’ve done 1,500 steps… beyond disappointed that the ratings were so high and misleading. DO NOT PAY FOR THIS

By

DONT BUY THIS

Whatever you do do not buy WalkingWeightLoss. I should have read the reviews like others mentioned. I couldn’t even look at what it was about without paying or starting the exercise. On day one I realized WalkingWeightLoss doesn’t work in the background so when my phone went to screen saver the timer stopped working. So at the end of my workout it said I only walked 12 minutes however I had left my house 45 minutes before that. Total waste. I’m so glad I only did 1 month up front. I made sure the background refresh was on and still nothing. No idea how it has over 4 stars.

It doesn’t work!

Well first of all, it is not free! But the worst part is not that, the worst part is that WalkingWeightLoss doesn’t work. I am not talking about losing weight, I am talking about counting steps, keeping track of calories, steps per day or workout. That should be the basics… at least that should work, so expect to see the steps of the last 3 days just adding up on your calendar for 3 days ago, and you ask yourself well what happened for yesterday and today. It is not helpful to know three days later that you should have walk a little more that day. Very disappointing, do not recommend!

By

Integration Disappointing

I love the idea of WalkingWeightLoss and even paid for it for 1 year. The problem, however, is I have to carry my phone everywhere for it to accurately track my steps. I wear an Apple Watch and it won’t sync with that. The only device it integrates with is Fitbit. Disappointing for those that have other devices. I don’t carry my phone on me at work all the time but I’m constantly using my watch so this doesn’t accurately track my daily steps and walking.

By

Don’t buy!!

If what led you to subscribe was the graphics and the promise to show you what you would need to walk to lose your desired weight, I’m sorry to tell you what you see is NOT what you get. Total waste of money it is not easy to use and there’s no benefit to WalkingWeightLoss. There’s benefit to walking and tracking just no benefit to paying them to do pretty much nothing for you yet take your money. Also it wouldn’t let me leave this review. It kept deleting it, I had to write it in another app then come and copy paste it here so that it would stick. This is flat out stealing people’s money.

By

Just Meh

Cons: Price is far too much. No free trial period. It says it’s customizing a plan based on your weight and fitness level. For me in my condition that would be something very mild. I’m super obese and In poor health. My first day routine was escalating steps up to 5mph. I can’t walk 5mph. I was exhausted when it event from 2.2 to 2.8 mph.

Pros: it does attempt to show you walking speed so you can match it to the goal you need to hit. But I found it quit working often during the walk. Also if you were on a treadmill this wouldn’t work anyway.

Lesson Learned.

Not happy

Terrible app

By

Subscription

I was charged for an entire years subscription after my free trial. I’ve sent emails trying to get a refund of that email and have heard nothing back. I didn’t want an entire year and haven’t even accessed WalkingWeightLoss since the free trial. Terrible experience and customer service.

By

Good app but doesn’t connect with other devices

I like WalkingWeightLoss , but you have to have the phone on your body for it to work.

By

Scam don’t buy

It literally just tells you your steps and you set your own goal.... nothing predictive about how much you should walk etc.
Worse $10 I spent.
Same data your iPhone already tells you for FREE

By

Not enough info

Downloaded and now without using it am deleting it. Nowhere does it actually say how much the charge is or how long the trial period is—it states trial period if applicable. Talk about hiding behind an app. No transparency here at all.

By

Disappointed.

The first thing you do is encouraging. What is your weight now, what do you want it to be, etc. Then they force you to pay a subscription! Not doing it. Deleted app.

By

Will wait to join

I will wait until WalkingWeightLoss is able to work with Apple Watch. I don’t always carry my phone

By

App doesn’t let you see workout plan ahead of time

Really unacceptable and quite frankly, misleading. Spend your money elsewhere.

By

No 4 week plan

App advertised a 4 week customized plan, just basically a pedometer. Poorly designed and advertised. Don’t buy.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS APP!!!!

I purchased a year subscription for total of 71.39. I tried one workout and hated app, it was a 15 minute walk with no options for increased time. I tried to cancel my subscription which was less than one hour old and was told I would be charged 800$ if I canceled! What a scam could not find this revealing amount in fine print beware DO NOT PURCHASE WalkingWeightLoss!

By

Waste of $20.00

Downloaded WalkingWeightLoss today and it doesn’t count all my steps. Doesn’t sync with my health with Apple or with Apple Watch. I don’t carry my phone with me every where. Not for me. $20 for a few hours use and now I am canceling my subscription.

M. Avenevoli   2 years ago

I just purchased but the app does not work. It won’t move past subscription options.

Trelles M Hale   2 years ago

Please refund my 32.09. I thought there was a trial period, but got a text message saying they are charging me 32.09. Someone needs to shut down these apps that steal your money.

Luci B Hersey   2 years ago

I would like a refund for my $29.00. I don’t feel this app does much to help my Weight Loss program. Sorry for the inconvenience. But please refund my money. Thank You, Luci B Hersey

Suzanne van der Westhuizen   2 years ago

I purchased this app and the money has been taken but I can complete sign up as app wants me to make a one off purchase which I don’t want- I can’t go around it or decline it.

David Hart   2 years ago

They taken £29 thats about it, no plan nothing scam

Aleta Rossi   2 years ago

I bought the app a month ago, it doesn't count steps accurately. The walks can be recreated by yourself. Just walk slowly 2 mins, faster 2 mins , really fast 2 mins, slow down 2 minutes slower 2mins .. repeat.

Linda Harbin   2 years ago

Trying for 3 months. I thought it had a trial period before purchasing but didn’t realize until I purchased that I was charged $29.99. I did have a cancel button so I canceled so there will be no more charges if I don’t like this app. Most apps give you a free trial

Gerald   2 years ago

I received an email saying unless I cancel my subscription to WalkFit it will automatically renew for 3 months. I went to my subscription list to cancel it but there is NO cancel button. It’s a total rip off, don’t buy it!

SUSAN E. CONNOLLY   3 years ago

I clicked on an add and added the app to my phone, but have not selected a subscription level. I can't figure out how to NOT GET BILLED. I fear that they don't bill through apple app store so I'm probably held hostage until I get a bill from my credit card. WHAT A SCAM NIGHTMARE!!!

John Sharp   3 years ago

No instructions included!

Cindy Gillespie   3 years ago

I have not received my plan. How do I get the plan after you received payment? If I do not receive it I will request a refund through my credit card company.

Carol Fahrer   3 years ago

Not happy. How do I get a refund?

Lydia Murch Cook   3 years ago

Purchased it. Could not even get a free trial as advertised. Purchased for one year and this app is completely worthless. Don't buy it. I asked the company for instructions but there is nothing. I wish I would have done my homework before I purchased it. Actually I only had planned to purchase it after the free trial if I liked it. It is the worst app I ever purchased.

Miss M Marrs   3 years ago

I was very suspicious when down loaded app so decided to check reviews. Thanks guys I'm so glad I didn't pay the 12 month subscription.
