This is a great app is you are a college student and love to connect not just with your classmates, but also students elsewhere. The great thing about LoopChat is that there is a very active college community. It enables you to engage with friends and college peers in various ways. You can group message, create class chats, or jump into a voice chat room. I love posting on the College Circle to just share about college life. My favorite feature is the voice chat room, I think Campus Lounge they call it. They are always very interesting conversations going on there. I love hoping on there at random and dropping off when I feel like.

I’m so happy I got the link to this chat. I was so nervous about being a transfer student and finding a community. LoopChat really made me find a place within my school!
Let me tell you about my favorite features!!
- I was able to find a roommate on LoopChat
- I got to build my community before I even stepped foot on campus
- I now have this growing community of college students on the college circle. With the pandemic it’s been so nice seeing others and getting to know others from across the country.
- I hop into lounge rooms at like 1AM and just have late night talks!!
I’m so happy to have found a safe place for me to communicate and make friends! I don’t have to worry about cross tracking. The main thing that got me to delete my other socials. And as soon as I read the privacy policy that LoopChat DOESNT believe in that. I was sold. I’m a really happy user!

Within LoopChatOldVersion the most amazing feature to me is the daily voice lounges. It’s a wonderful way to hear from everyone and see insight on different topics . And it’s cool having the option to have join the social issue or chill room and maybe even starting your own room . 😂

At first, I was really excited for LoopChatOldVersion and I loved getting to connect with people who will be attending my future school as well as other college students. However, after having LoopChatOldVersion for a few months I stopped using it because I had to turn off notifications. Even after toggling off receiving circle push notifications, I still receive a notification EVERY time someone posts on the circle, even people I don’t follow which is really annoying. I also think it’s really weird that there are random students in private school group chats, ik it’s to promote engagement but it felt very intrusive and less private.

So I got a new number and I tried logging into my account with my email. They won’t let me log in because the email I used doesn’t allow spam. So I tried looking up how to change phone number for account. They made it impossible for people who gets new phone numbers. I emailed customer service and they said it should be good to use now. I tried using my school email and it says the same thing as before. I logged out to try again. Now it won’t let me log back in. Customer service needs a phone number to contact. I have no use for LoopChatOldVersion if I can’t get access to my school chat.

I don’t appreciate how loopchat automatically added me into the College Circle feature after failing to get me to join with their BILLIONS of spam ads. Loopchat was really good last summer when they weren’t advertising cringe things 24/7. It’s not a good marketing scheme it’s ANNOYING. The more y’all advertise the more I want to literally not be on LoopChatOldVersion anymore. Please cool it with the ads and allow people the option to not be in college circle if they don’t want to. You would think they would want to do more of what the users of LoopChatOldVersion want in order to actually keep them on LoopChatOldVersion .

I really like LoopChatOldVersion bc it’s sm college students coming together from such diverse backgrounds. It has great features like the college circle and voice lounge. It’s a fun way to interact with fellow humans lol. One problem I’ve been having recently though is that my posts don’t upload on the circle! Idk why it’s happening now bc it was working perfectly fine before. I really wish it could be fixed bc I liked LoopChatOldVersion a lot :((

I’m so happy to finally come across a social media app with no ads. I finally feel like I can post anything without having that worry in the back of my head. 10/10 would recommend. Circle is their best feature.

LoopChatOldVersion was started by Berkeley students. I really want to give it my support. Also, there are some really fun chatting groups here. LoopChatOldVersion is easy to use. I appreciate the founders putting so much efforts in making Berkeley community more connected.

I love LoopChatOldVersion! I was a little intimidated about meeting people from my school before joining but after being on LoopChatOldVersion , I feel so much more prepared for life at university! I’ve already made a lot of friends and it’s fun to see who I’m gonna hang with once I get to campus!

The admins and ambassadors take extensive time/do not take any action when users experience discomfort. Certain behavior should not be tolerated and stronger punishments must be implemented. Also, if you're thinking of getting it- probably not worth it if you aren't a freshman: LoopChatOldVersion lacks user retention because people don't go on it after the first few months of class.

TLDR: Take down offensive content and users. People are using LC as a medium to violate COVID guidelines, and no one has interfered.

I expect this to expand to other campuses. I like it’s simplicity and multifaceted features, it’s also great filtering out people you would prefer to not be in your inner circle. Other than that, “keep each other in the Loop” 😇

I think that LoopChatOldVersion has a great user experience and lot of potential for growth. I love the fact that LoopChatOldVersion has privacy at it core and how easy it is to communicate to the dev team!

Met some really great people on Loopchat and i enjoy how theres a huge number limit for group chats.
I really enjoy the new features like the lounge and the Circle as well they’ve allowed me to interact with other students easily!

I think LoopChatOldVersion would be better if it allowed you to send links in chats. On multiple occasions, I tried to send a link to a discord server for SCAD students. However, it would not allow others to view the link.

I found a community through LoopChatOldVersion which is why I’d recommend it and the interface is pretty clean so it makes for an easy user experience

Only thing to make LoopChatOldVersion better would to be able to add stories to the group chats, so that class announcements could be better shared

LoopChatOldVersion incorporates the positive community aspects of social media and alleviates the issues of authenticity and privacy that sway users away from the majority of traditional social media apps - I love LoopChat and can’t wait to see it grow!:)

LoopChatOldVersion is very functional and meets my needs exactly. I use it to communicate with friends and coworkers as a secure alternative to sharing my number. Highly recommend.
