Like others mentioned, you have to pay to get this to display as a widget. I kept Countdown anyway and just didn’t have a widget display since I didn’t want to pay. But my annoyance is that as soon as it hit midnight the day of my event, it started counting up. I never even saw 0 or saw it say that today is the day. It just automatically starts counting up yet it looks exactly the same. It doesn’t say “hours since” or anything. So at first glance it looks like it’s still showing X hours until your event. What’s the point of that?? I don’t need to know how long it’s been since the clock hit midnight the day of my event. And I didn't find any way to change it. It might sound dumb but most people do a this app for the satisfaction of seeing “0 days until…” or whatever so I felt like I counted down to nothing.

I liked this at first. I put a few events in and it worked well. Since I did not pay for it the ads did not bother me. But now you cannot change the display of an event. If you want year month day and did not set it up that way originally then you can’t change it. When you try to change a pop up tells you to upgrade to pro. No matter what action you take you are bothered with an upgrade message.

I tolerate your ads because I do not want to upgrade (and any consideration I had in doing so ended with the annoying upgrade pop up gatekeeper).

I am deleting this. Like it, might have upgraded later on but the pressure is nothing more than car salesman tactics.

Hopefully my last review didn’t go through. It doe display the hours and minutes but for some reason I had to remove the widget then add it again. I paid the $4.99 to use. I don’t think I even had to pay that I think I all I had to do was remove the widget then add it again. Sneaky app. Meh I still gave it 5 stars.

I purchased the premium for Countdown and went ahead and created my custom widget. The widget looks great in Countdown . Unfortunately the widget I’m able to add to my Home Screen is not the same. The font reverts to the original and is white (on a white background - completely useless!). I tried to contact the developer to figure out what to do and no response. If you are looking to make custom widgets - DO NOT BUY Countdown!!! It will allow you to create them but then is completely unavailable to add to your hone screen. I want my money back. I’d give zero stars if that was an option.

I paid for the $4.99 version so that I could add widgets to the homescreen. However if you add your own background there’s automatically some weird filter on it that can’t be removed that makes any image appear darker than it actually is. The preloaded backgrounds work fine but for users who want to add personal photos it kind of defeats the purpose. Not as important but you also can’t have 0 countdowns which seems a little strange.

Easy app to use, cute pics to put behind your this app. I like that it allows you to this app by many different options (year, month, week, day, hour, minute, second)! I had a different this app app for a short time that only allowed to this app by days and that wasn’t as fun :)

Love Countdown. It lets me see in seconds how many days until I’m eligible for federal-government backed healthcare. Everyone deserves it; not just the old and infirm. Just wish I could make Countdown my wallpaper so I could see even sooner how many days are left.

So I wanted a widget on my on my screen of my wedding date. This was the first one I came along. One month later I was charged 5 bucks for premium although I have never been back on Countdown after I did the one widget I wanted. Once I noticed I was charged for premium I went back to Countdown and it’s literally no difference and the basic app vs the “premium” app I don’t know I’m deleting because I don’t want to recharged for this stupid app and I’m not sure if it’s a recurring charge. Besides that I guess it does the jobs it’s attended for 🤷🏽‍♀️

Love Countdown or the idea of it. When it’s working it’s great. I like to use it as a widget, changing the picture for my event as well as the font. However, the picture I choose or the font I choose often won’t actually show on the screen after applied. If they’d just fix those bugs it’s great!

Literally does what I need it to. No glitches. no issues. Easy count down app until we can celebrate 3 years incident free at work. Helps me keep track of the days

I paid the $4.99 to get the widget for my Home Screen on my iPhone. Even after restarting my iPhone and making sure it’s updated (it is updated to iOS 15) i still cannot get the widget to my Home Screen. Not worth the money or hassle. If you don’t care for the widget, it still has cute back grounds to use for your this app time, which is why I give Countdown 2 starts.

The only one of many I tried that actually works and works properly. Now if only there where a few more stock option photos for events. Not easy finding the right size photo Countdown will accept. Disappointing but not a deal breaker , I guess. Overall I’m just happy it actually works

I guess with iOS users, it doesn’t allow for you to have the widget on the main screen. You can only view the widget’s this app on the locked screen if you swipe “left.” The owner of Countdown or whoever it is E-Mailed me I copied and pasted it below. Don’t buy this if you’re an iOS user. It’s a waste of money.

Thank you for your support! The widget you want to add is only available for the old style today view widget. Please swipe right from the left edge of the Home screen or the Lock screen to open the today view, then follow these steps to add the widget:

1. Open Today View, scroll to the bottom, then tap Edit at the bottom of the screen.
2. To add or remove widgets, tap or .

I played around with quite a few and liked this one best. Paying a one time fee is ideal for me vs a yearly or monthly. Only downfall is the separation from my widget that shows on the screen vs the widget that pops up. I’d prefer to make them the same.

The font color stays white on my widget even when updating it - not a huge deal just narrows down photo choices.

Widget only shows days vs the other weeks, months etc. that you can select - again not a huge deal.

Overall very easy to use compared to the others I tried.

I wasn’t super impressed with the free version, but the $4.99 was worth stepping up a notch. Love being able to add my own backgrounds, and of course, not deal with ads.

Extremely displeased,!!! . Countdown don’t work at all , even if you pay the upgrade or six dollars it’s still won’t reflect your selection the way you choose to , you select a font and it doesn’t apply and you put the correct date and it doesn’t apply it is basically it do whatever it wants to do . PLEASE DO NO GET Countdown , You cannot even posted on timeline or your social media whatsoever!!

Countdown looks great for widgets except for the fact that I can only show one this app at a time. Countdown should allow me to shuffle between them so I can see all of my countdowns in one widget. If this is fixed then Countdown would be 5 stars

Countdown is only free to download. It will blast you with ads at full volume. I never set the volume all the way up, so I know Countdown did it. You can’t use widgets without “premium” either. Widgets aren’t a premium feature, they are basic features. “Premium” is just an excuse to make the download free but make you pay to actually use Countdown .

Easy and intuitive. Several of us in our program are using Countdown to this app to big days.

It works well I love it! Doesn’t ask for money all the time! I love it because I have a lot of stuff coming this weeks and this organizes all of the events!

Super simple and clean. LOVE the aesthetic with zero ads. Plenty of options to customize but not overwhelming. Weird bug about a Facebook ad constantly popping up randomly with no x button so I have to quit out of Countdown entirely. Other than that, perfect this app app. Keep it up.

The application is a little wanky to set up but, once you find the settings you prefer, it’s a great tool.
Highly recommended.

If you’re using this for a this app to a vacation or something, it’s very disappointing. The this app doesn’t stay up to date. Mine is two days behind at this time. Every once in while, it will suddenly have the right amount of days left. But then slowly falls behind again.
Much much much better free options out there.

I used to love Countdown until I updated it and paid for the “premium” Now I can’t customize any of the widgets or don’t know how. There are no specific directions on how to customize the widgets. Some of my widgets say “unable to load”. I’m a little disappointed that they took my $4.99 only for me not to be able to customize my stuff or load my stuff.

Countdown has helped me out a lot when it comes to keeping up with events.
I also really like all the customization options.
I guess my one gripe would be that there aren’t enough colors options for the text.

But other than that this is a very well rounded app, does what it’s supposed to and adds a little bit more.

I love this this app app it’s got amazing backgrounds and each day as I open my phone and I see the this app to when I switch careers it makes me so happy!

It does the this app & I don’t have to pay to use it!! Plus the aesthetic is simple and clean. The pictures are gorgeous and I love that I can choose between them.

Simple and so clean. You can track unlimited things without any adds and a lot of customization available.
