Best Exercise app for getting started

I love FitnessVerv for it’s simplicity. If you’re just starting out to exercise FitnessVerv provides straightforward instructions, no brains, just easy to follow routines adjusted to your abilities. The programs are geared so that they are easily attainable, progressing as you get stronger. There is also wide variety of additional workouts you can add to your routine if you want to work a certain area or need a boosts of cardio. And the cost is so affordable for what is available in apps. It is the best value for what I’ve found so far. Love FitnessVerv!!

Some things are great, others things need considerable work

Pros: The interval training workouts are really great. I’ve gotten a lot of benefit from the targeted strength training. I like the meditations as well.

Cons: The majority of the walking exercises, in spite of their unique titles, are highly redundant. You do one, you’ve done them all. There’s not much to distinguish them from each other. The timer/reset format of FitnessVerv is not very conducive for an authentic yoga experience, and the introduction of poses are not very sequential - use Down Dog or Nike Training Club for a better flow and more customizable practice. (Verv doesn’t always use the proper name of poses either, so if you’re trying to learn yoga vocabulary, this only gets you about 30% of the way there.) The running exercises are really hard for non-runners to start with; I’ve been using the sister app Running for Weight Loss. The sleep sessions are good, but doesn’t initiate auto-lock after it ends, so it will run all night and miscalculate your workout minutes on your Apple Watch.

Love the single workouts but need more!

I could never commit to working out to videos online and would quickly grow bored, but FitnessVerv has kept me engaged for two weeks now and I’m seeing results! I love the single workouts and the ability to see all the workouts I’ve done. I don’t have to commit to an hour-long work out, but can accomplish many exercises throughout the day during breaks between working at home. I love the ala carte features, the visual clarity with different views, the timer, rest time while showing the next exercise, and the program progress line on top...all thoughtfully designed and organized for today’s multi-tasking mind!

My only suggestion is to add more single workouts under 12 minutes that focus on more body parts. I would love to see a Women’s chest and back sculptor, Thigh and cellulite buster and...Flabby Arm Sculptor for Women!

I love this app.... but!

I love FitnessVerv I’m going on 28 I was a huge runner when I was younger I ran every day just for “fun” but after getting out of the military I lost my focus and decided to take a break. After gaining 40lbs I decided to run again. I tried the Verv weight loss running app and loved that it broke down my intervals down to my pace on my map in written and map view I also loved that it tracks my weight loss and provides meal suggestions (all amazing features) but I wanted an app that provided me with off day workouts so I got FitnessVerv about bought the premium version hoping it supplied all those great features the running app did and it doesn’t. I also can’t find the achievements section. I just wish it were all in one place!

Still disappointed

I stopped using Verv to train for a race months ago because the cueing was so spotty. I only got a “run” cue about 50% of the time. What it did instead was turn my music down to almost not being able to hear it (and you need it most when it’s time to run, right?). After a running hiatus due to injury I thought I’d give it another shot to eetrain myself to run. I figured it’s been through several updates and I voiced my concerns enough that maybe it’d been fixed (and I had paid for the year so might as well try, it’s not cheap). NOPE. Still usually doesn’t tell you when it’s time to run. Idk why this is such a challenge. Back to the unpaid apps that seem able to get it right.

Side note: my last review from months ago has disappeared, so I’ll be counting down how long it takes them to remove this one, too. 😂

Great workouts

Love the workouts FitnessVerv has to offer. FitnessVerv was great to maintain workouts through lockdown with gyms not open. I just restarted using FitnessVerv last week after 2 months off from an injury. I love the water tracking feature & the daily tips, step counter, calorie burned, suggested daily workout to try, & a few other features on the home page that were new this time around as opposed to the old format from last year. Today I was disappointed to hop on & it was the old format & I have to recreate a profile every time I went on & most of my data was gone :( I miss the format I had for the last week.

Seems like a new app.

Even though FitnessVerv has exercises for newbies it does not take in account those customers that are looking to start working out but maybe overweight and can’t do certain exercises due to their weight. The other issue is customers that want to work out and have back issues.
When you contact customer service there response is always the same.

”The team has taken this on board and will use your feedback for future updates - your insights help us improve FitnessVerv .“
I would think these are issues that should be looked into before taking someone’s money. All is takes is one customer to hurt themselves following your programs.

Not a good app

So I read all the reviews good and bad. All of them. Everything people said in the bad reviews is true. No nutrition plan, easy level routines aren’t easy. You can find better workouts online. FitnessVerv isn’t anything like the ads. They ask lots of questions up front making you think it’s going to be personal, but it’s not. Etc. etc. The only reason I tried it out was because for our family of six, the cost of one year is the same as a trip to a fast food place. Not a ton. Also the developers left lots of nice notes about how they were working on things. They aren’t. It’s still bad lol. I still use FitnessVerv when I need a quick workout, but it’s not a good app. I give it a two because it’s cheap and there are workouts.

Love this app but...

Love FitnessVerv but there are some things that are kind of frustrating I don’t like the fact that you have to pay a premium for some of the lessons and that’s kind of annoying Other than all of that it’s great and I really recommend this if you aren’t bothered by having to do certain lessons because you have to pay for premium overall it’s a really great app!!! Whoever made FitnessVerv is brilliant but I hope that you guys can make this change I love your guises app and I hope you get more reviews like this all of you have an awesome day and a wonderful day and try and forget about all of your stress and anxiety.

What I think so far

My Name is Teagan and I just downloaded FitnessVerv today and I’ve just finished my first workout and I’ve been looking and browsing through FitnessVerv to see everything FitnessVerv has without needing premium. And so far I love FitnessVerv! I feel amazing right now! I usually don’t enjoy working out at all but FitnessVerv helps me enjoy it more because with other apps I’ve tried give almost to no time in between steps. FitnessVerv is great so far! But I haven’t had very much experience with FitnessVerv yet and I might find some bugs so for now I’m giving FitnessVerv 4 stars. Might change later on

Amazing & Helpful!

FitnessVerv is amazing! I’ve been trying for so long to find a workout app that is mostly free and beneficial to my body goals! First workout in was awesome as it helped my body feel good and refreshed. One of the unique qualities about this workout was the ending when it presented a stretching pose to help my body maintain nice form and keep my muscles flexible! Love all of the features and access FitnessVerv allows me to have all for the benefit of my body. I 100% recommend FitnessVerv because of all the helpful tools and guidance FitnessVerv provides!

It does nothing

When I saw the add it showed an agenda with things like drink water, walk for 15 minutes, do yoga for 20 minutes, breathe. It was very precise and simple. THAT DOES NOT EXIST. It pulls up generic workouts from the internet and says ‘do intermittent fasting’. So why do I need to pay $35 a month for this? Why advertise for a feature that does not exist? Why not use your energy to actually create the feature you advertise?

So I got a developer’s response claiming that I do not understand why FitnessVerv does. I clearly understand what FitnessVerv does—it does nothing. The ad claims what I listed above, but you do not know this until you pay in full. Your app does not offer it. Submitting a request for help to ‘guide’ me through FitnessVerv is not necessary (as it does nothing) and goes unanswered.

Awesome!

FitnessVerv is so cool. It paces you and she’s planned workouts that target your fitness goals. You choose the time and intensity. I got FitnessVerv because I was looking for an easy way to workout without having to follow random workouts. It works best when your workouts build on each other. FitnessVerv also explains how to do each workout in the program and gives rest time between each workout and set. Lastly it connects to my Apple Watch which I thought was pretty cool! Definitely going to keep using this.

Subscription confusion

I saw an add for FitnessVerv, was intrigued and downloaded it. It said that I needed to buy a subscription which wasn’t an issue, especially when it said it was on sale. I bought the $20-30 (can’t remember exactly) 6 month subscription. From my understanding this meant that I would be able to have access to any workouts for the next six months. But as I moved forward it told me I needed to upgrade and buy another subscription to move passed the free workouts. I’m confused because I already have a subscription but I still don’t have the ability to move passed the free workouts? It’s disappointing to have this happen as I was really enjoying FitnessVerv .

Really love it so far

I really love FitnessVerv, how easy it is to use and how many different kinds of programs it has. I’m trying to get back into running after a year off and I love the wide variety of programs for all levels. Also love the lifestyle and meditation features. The one thing I
would love to see is if there could be a link to my calendar so I could put the workouts on my calendar or notifications for pre-set workout times. Otherwise I’ve been really happy with it!

New App User

I like FitnessVerv but I have a few things I wanted to point out. Such as do you do one work out program at a time or can you do multiples combined? This seems confusing. Also FitnessVerv looks like it's only compatible for iPhone vs IPad Will you have it compatible to move to different formats? Lastly when connecting FitnessVerv to phone and then to iPad they don't link the workouts you did on one device to the other device. Will that be something that will be fixed? Overall it seems pretty nice I like the workouts and FitnessVerv as a whole.

What’s the fuss?

I like to work OUT, so after reading some great things about FitnessVerv, I downloaded and purchased the monthly plan. I did my first 12 minute leg workout that was supposed to be insane and intense!! I turned it off after 3 minutes. The moves were what my grandmother does in her weekly aquatic class. The most annoying part: the there wasn’t a definitive start. The person would start the move while the voiceover was telling you the exercise, so the person on the screen is already into the third rep before you understand what the heck it is you’re supposed to be doing. I’m deleting FitnessVerv out of spite and already cancelled the auto-renewal.

By

Confused on Workouts

I really like FitnessVerv and want to change my rating but I can’t seem to get a hold of anyone to answer my questions. I want to know why it has my workouts broken up into 2 sessions a day instead of one longer session. I have two 15 minute sessions a day instead of one 30 minute one. Why?

Update: Someone was able to get a hold of me and explain how it works. I’m happy! I’ve used a ton of other workouts apps and this one is, by far, my favorite!

Good but needs tweaks

Browsing around the recipes i noticed the vegan options were a bit slim and some of the pictures weren’t matching up to the recipes.
I had FitnessVerv hooked up to my Apple Watch but after i finished my workout and exited FitnessVerv it just kept running on my watch and i couldn’t figure out how to make it stop so i had to remove FitnessVerv from my watch. It kept my activity rings running the whole time.
The excercises are great but if you don’t know them or aren’t ready when you are watching the videos you have to pause it because they switch excercises really fast.

Good app for at home workout

Since life got busy I had no time to go to gym had to cancel membership, gained weight and was feeling guilty of not being able to work out. I wanted to do in home workout when I have time and did not know where to start. I came across FitnessVerv and I love it. They have multiple small work outs I can do when I have time. I love 5 mins workouts I can sneak between my busy schedule. Price is great too compared to other apps I have tried. Love FitnessVerv and I recommend this to everyone.

Stay in shape through Verv!

Verv is the best app to get in better shape and burn calories much quicker than any method you know of.

By

Unauthorized Charge

Hidden charges!!! This company will charge you $39 in 7 days and even though there are other subscription options, you don’t get to select the plan. Pay attention!! Apple will not refund your money either. Don’t get scammed out of your money as I did!

By

Great and helpful app

I love FitnessVerv it really really helps me!

By

Too expensive

It is $40/month the part that is free is really nothing. With all the fitness apps out there you can find something either free or way cheaper.

By

Not worth the subscription

Great music, but lacks some simple integrations. Like I’m using my fitbit on my treadmill, but it wants to read I’m outdoors and won’t give a treadmill option.

By

I can’t unsubscribe!

This is a terribly laid out app. I wanted to test out the free trial but then they already sign you up for the very expensive paid plan and there is no button or way to cancel or unsubscribe!

By

App Crashes all the time

Haven’t had much luck with FitnessVerv. It crashed too many times on me. I have a new iPhone XS and tons of memory so it’s not my phone. It’s FitnessVerv .

By

Great app

Like tabata workouts and singl sessions!

By

Poor Watch Support

Requires phone to start and continue workouts. Currently the Watch app is just a remote for the phone app.

They stole money from my debit card

I opened FitnessVerv to see how does it work and after I saw that that charge a lot money I deleted it because I can’t pay because I’m working part time but today 12/14/19 when I checked my bank account I saw that they stole me $43.63 for a premium subscription that I never bought it. So be carful with FitnessVerv

First, they take forever to answer email, if you have a iphone and by any chance you switch to Android...no way you will able to use the app, also if you like to mirror on the TV, app don't work on all tvs brand. They offer cancelation but don't refund your money. My iphone broke and I got tire of and got android and I ask Verv to give me the code to access my account on my new phone, they said because I bought it on a Iphone I will not be able to use on my new phone. Now they ask to cancel but don't refund the money. Instead they said use the other phone till the end of the year. BE CAREFUL where you want to download this app. No able to use on laptop,no able to use on new phone you will stuck 12 months and not able to use it.
