Pokémon Pass Reviews

First off, I had no idea PokémonPass existed until I was trying to receive a pokemon from a distribution. After trying to figure out how to get the pokemon for a bit an employee informed me of PokémonPass . I have very limited data and the free internet wasn’t good enough to even load PokémonPass store. I went home to try and figure it out.

After downloading PokémonPass , I set it up with my trainer account and it asked to read the updated terms of service. There was a box to check accepting to receive e-mail notifications from pokemon. I intentionally did not check this box as I absolutely do not want them sending e-mails to me as I already use other methods of keeping track new and upcoming events. A message came up telling me that receiving these e-mails is required to use PokémonPass .

At this point I decided I would just use it for the one distribution and the get rid of PokémonPass because I didn’t want to deal with that. I then found out that I had to use the location services on my phone to get the pokemon distribution to work.

I decided to see what else PokémonPass could do and on it’s own the only thing you can do is get “stickers” you can use to take photos with. That is all. And this is how they plan to do pokemon distributions in the future. I checked the reviews I advise sorting by recency. You’ll see how good PokémonPass is.

PokémonPass is horrible. I had to reset my trainer club password because PokémonPass locked me out of my account (thought my account didn’t exist) and when I finally get all that done and head to GameStop PokémonPass wouldn’t operate. It couldn’t figure out I was in the building. From other reviews and forums PokémonPass was horrid from day one but I wanted the toxtricity event so against better judgement I get PokémonPass only for it to fail multiple times in a row. I pray gamefreak doesn’t use this format for their events anymore and removes PokémonPass as it basically functions as a poor mans pokemon snap (barely). I’d rather have my events done through internet or cards preferably both so those who don’t have access to physical locations for cards can still get events via internet. Please destroy PokémonPass🙏

I was a little hesitant on using after reading the reviews, but Pokémon is something I always gotta be a part of, so I tried PokémonPass . To be honest, the log-in is not a problem. Just follow the steps, and you’ll be good. It just needs you to sign into your Pokémon Trainer account on the Pokémon website, then approve the terms and conditions. After all that, Pokémon Pass will allow you to sign in and receive the rewards. That’s all, and it didn’t take me long to figure that all out. Hope you all enjoy the rewards from Pokémon Pass!

I had no problems logging in, but it seems tons of other people are. Currently, it might be luck of the draw if you actually get to login or not. I’d recommend trying, and if it doesn’t work, keep PokémonPass and wait for a fix to be released. There’s not a ton of content you can get right now, so you aren’t really missing much if you can’t login right now.

Log into your Pokémon club account, go to settings and click on Pokémon pass. From there click on the terms and conditions accept and accept to receive emails on events and what not and you should be able to log in. I had no problem when I did this,I just wish there was something that told you this the moment you opened PokémonPass .

Loved it I mean free shiny! But there was no new event after that. I was so excited when it came out but now I’m just disappointed. I expect more from such a big brand.
Update: It’s been almost a year since the release and I have yet to see anything new. I did delete for a month or two but really?!? Why Pokemon?? It’s just a waste of space!

I used it for the shiny toxtricity event and it worked I look forward to using it for future events although there was a problem with the loading the first time I opened PokémonPass but that problem seemed to be internet related and not a problem with PokémonPass itself

I’ve been stuck on the same loading screen for twenty minutes I didn’t even get to use PokémonPass . I’ve tried reinstalling, resetting my phone, and anything else I could think of and still nothing but that dang loading screen.

Update: I finally got it to work using the airplane mode trick but it’s still insane that I have to resort to that a year after PokémonPass ’s been up this is something that should have been fixed long ago.

I love PokémonPass and I like that I got a Detective Pikachu photo sticker when I got PokémonPass . PokémonPass is perfect for Pokémon fans of all ages. PokémonPass is super accurate so thats why I give it a 5-⭐️ rating. I hope everyone else love PokémonPass as well and I like how you get new activities when the time for the old activities runs out

PokémonPass doesn’t support most special characters in the password, even though the website for trainers club does. Just change password to only use letters (upper and lower, of course) and numbers, no symbols. Not sure why the dev hasn’t made a more formal post acknowledging the issue.

I like the idea of PokémonPass , but during this Target event it would not work for me, or anybody else that came in to try. The target guy recommended trying a different target maybe it has something to do with the GPS? This target is over five years old you think it would be there by now. I can see this being a problem in the future, and forcing people to fake their GPS locations due to it thinking we aren't in the store when we really are.

The concept is pretty good based on the description on the official Pokémon site- otherwise PokémonPass needs fixing. There are little features or reason to keep PokémonPass on my phone at all. I guess I’m just waiting for some major update to come in that fixes everything. I’m not able to scan any of or at the very least import a photo I’ve taken of my QR codes. It’s really just missing a lot of stuff that it claims to offer (at least on my app)
Please fix so I can eventually re-evaluate with a better rating... 👏

So I go to Game Stop and hear about something about trading your cards in the 17th. And IM ALL ABOUT POKÉMON. I go on the website and download this like it recommended and EVERY SINGLE TIME I PUT IN MY EMAIL IT SAYS SOMETHING IS WRONG ABOUT IT! I double check it, and it’s right BUT, it still says that it is WRONG. Like WTH! I just wanna sign in for the 17th! I know you might can’t fix it but PLEASE TRY! POKÉMON is my life! I spent days and weeks to watch each show and movie of POKÉMON. I NEED THIS FIXED! 😩😭

There was one event last August that was cancelled. Before that, the last event I can think of was in 2019. Nothing notable ever shows up on PokémonPass, if anything at all. Every day you open it, you will be greeted by a screen that reads "More activities coming soon!" But nothing ever comes. And now that Pokemon Home is out, it's only a matter of time before PokémonPass is officially abandoned. Right now it's only unofficially abandoned.

I made a account and when I try to log in i need to verify it, and when I send the email it doesn’t show up? I searched Pokémon in gmail and everything and there’s no verify email..... please fix this!

It was beyond difficult to make an account if you didn’t already have one, for some reason no email I typed in worked I had to make 4 bran new emails just to make my account also PokémonPass itself is a little hard to get the hand of.

The idea of PokémonPass is cool, but you cannot even access it. I was able to log in with my Pokémon trainer club account, however it prevented me from using PokémonPass without location services. So I went into the settings to try and activate the location services, but the option was not available, so I could not even use PokémonPass . If they fixed all of the problems, then it could be decent, but for now it is a complete failure.

Cannot get pass the opening loading screen these days. Deleted/reinstalled PokémonPass numerous times, but problem still occurs. When PokémonPass first launched it seemed like a fun concert, but truthfully not much is done with it. If it wasn’t for Nintendo reminder emails, I probably never touch PokémonPass since rewards are kind of limited. Hopefully they’ll fix this severe bug soon so many of us can get the Halloween event shinnies before it ends next month.

So I know this was made for the Pokémon 3ds games and all, but will there be any future events for the Pokémon 3ds games and the Pokémon switch games...just asking, and also maybe a new Pokémon rumble game with gen 7 and gen 8 pokemon...maybe...

PokémonPass doesn’t work. I can log on but PokémonPass never finds me. I have tried for a few days to get a shiny pika but the scanner never shows. Wrote to tech and they said it was user error but no one in my area can make it work

For all those having login issues, make sure your password does not contain any special characters aside from $, @, and/or !. Not sure why the made PokémonPass like this, especially since the pokemon trainer club doesn't have this issue, but that is what I got from support. After changing my password and making sure it didn't have special characters other than those, I was able to login without issue.

PokémonPass is likely what Game Freak is going to be using for Pokémon distributions in the future. To that end, it seems serviceable enough. My main gripe is that that’s ALL it’s does. I feel like a “Pokémon app” could be expanded to accommodate things like the global link or other online features, and I’d like to see it become something more in the future.
