Can’t even see the app without paying for 12 weeks

This could be a great app, but you can’t even look at the features and check it out without paying. It is missing a social aspect (like MyFitnessPal where you can add friends and encourage each other, or FitOn, where you can even take a class online together). I love the metrics in StrongHer- you can measure or weigh yourself and track your progress, it also has great tools for keeping track of your workouts. I didn’t really check out the recipe feature, not sure if there’s a way to enter your calorie intake or not, if that’s your thing. I wish the workouts were more customizable- if you take a yoga class for example, sometimes there’s a little purple icon that lets you swap an exercise. It would be GREAT for people with injuries if you could swap out an exercise- I have a bad back and neck and it is hard to find a workout I can complete without making modifications. Messes up the whole flow of my workout. I use Workout Maker for this— but hey creators, if you could make some tweaks mentioned above, I’d gladly pay $60 a year to use one app instead of the three I currently use. I ended up asking for a refund, because I can get all the features StrongHer offers for free on other apps.

Customer service is TERRIBLE - I got ripped off

The workout themselves are just alright. They are not at all customizable and they are too short and low level for my fast. They are really only for people just starting out at the gym. I definitely recommend only paying one month at a time because you will probably want to move on to longer/more intense exercises as you get stronger. I recommend using the Fitbod app instead - its free and super customizable.

But what really upsets me about StrongHer is how TERRIBLE the customer service is. I paid for $30 for the subscription and was charged an additional $20 for a meal plan that I never received. They only have two contact methods: Facebook and email. I reached out via both methods twice. I never received a response on Facebook. I received a response on email after several days only to be treated like I was stupid. The representative (Pam) kept insisting that they sent it and told me I was probably checking the wrong email (after I told her THREE times that I had triple checked ALL of my inboxes, spam folders, and trash folders). What a waste of money. $50 I sincerely regret spending.

Thanks!

I love StrongHer! It's never been a pleasure for me to have to get dressed, drag myself to the gym, wait for equipment, be ogled by strange men, and shower in public. I am able to workout twice a day, one in the morning when my son is napping and the other after his bedtime. The great thing about StrongHer is that it never inconveniences me because it's always on my schedule. Instructions are incredible! I don't have much experience with a gym or trainer, and I understand what I'm supposed to be doing without any trouble. Just a few weeks ago, I definitely would not have enjoyed working out. I'm excited about my new exercise routine. That's MAD! Thank you this app, for making workouts that motivate me to look and feel my best.

I wish I could provide more than 5 stars

For the past three months, I've been utilizing this tool. So far, I've tracked around 50 exercises, so I'm comfortable with StrongHer and its settings. StrongHer has always been straightforward and simple to use, and I find myself utilizing it more and more each time I go to the gym. I appreciate being able to design and save my own gym with a number of various equipment types so that the exercises generated are particularly customized to my requirements. Individual exercises may be swapped to make a workout more relaxing and allow me to learn new exercises at my own speed.

Great app, but..

I wish that StrongHer would’ve allowed you to have a free trial or at least one day of doing the workouts because it was expensive and the workouts are all super sets. Don’t get me wrong, super set workouts are fantastic but it’s hard to do a super set workout at the gym because you can’t save a machine, walk across the gym to use another machine, then walk back to the previous machine. It’s usually not allowed at most gyms including mine. So I end up having to change my workouts sometimes but I feel like I’m stuck using it since I paid for it. I do enjoy StrongHer I just wish it was a little more customizable if you can’t do a workout you could select a similar one. That’s what another app I use to have let me do and that was a nice feature.

Could use just a tad more…

StrongHer is great, but -
Downfall there is no free trial to see if it’s a good fit for you even one day would’ve been super helpful. I won’t use the food guide or recipe plans since it’s extremely limited options or you have to build your meals one ingredient at a time.

I also wish you could shuffle the supersets as well because the gym at 11pm may be wide open but at 6pm forget it I’m lucky to just get 3 rounds of the single machine in at a time. I wish you could look at the workout and say okay I have X machine and access to X free weights let’s do these together instead of X machine and X machine together as long as that’s still on that day’s routine.

I also wish you could “add notes” or “select weight level” for the particular reps since it’s almost a week in between a specific muscle group. For example chest press at 20# this week I’ll know that’s what I successfully used, next week I will know to use that again or even go up if that’s what my body is ready for. There are so many workouts and different machines it’s hard to keep track with out a notepad alongside it
Otherwise it’s a SUPER helpful app and overall I do really like it

It’s okay

StrongHer lures you in with a quiz to make you think you’re getting a somewhat personalized workout plan. You then have to pay for a membership to see the workouts. Once in StrongHer , I started with the recommended program which was way too hard for where I am at physically. I went down a level and the workouts are more appropriate—but definitely not low impact as they are labeled. If you have any knee problems the low impact workout will not be appropriate for you. StrongHer claims that the low impact workouts are 20 minutes, but they take at least 40 minutes to complete correctly. The food tracker is useless. So basically this is an okay workout plan that you will probably have to adjust to meet your needs. I don’t think StrongHer delivers what it promises but now that I have paid for it I am making it work for the time I have paid for.

Least user-friendly workout app I’ve ever used

This has to be the worst workout app I’ve used by far. I was looking for something to switch up my routine so I decided to give StrongHer a try. I selected advanced and these workout are not challenging or “advanced” in the slightest. I am
beyond disappointed and regret spending my money on this. You cannot customize ANYTHING. It doesn’t even let you record the weight you used so how could it accurately calculate how many calories burned? You can’t change the layout of the workout or see the future exercises once you’ve begun. Everything is set up as a superset which is very difficult to do when in a gym, jumping back and forth from two machines or areas of the gym is just ridiculous, not to mention inconsiderate of other gym goers who would like to use the equipment also. I’d give zero stars and get my money back if I could.

By

So much potential but bad execution

The quarter annual subscription is 39,99 and the momentan I had full access I knew the money was lost. The idea is great, the supersets, the timing. Although I did not register any way to up the difficulty level. The worst and most annoying part: the workout structure is completely firm and impractical. How am I supposed to occupy a bench AND the rope machine at the same time inside a busy gym. There is no way to restructure the workout plan, so it fits into gym reality. Which made me basically come up with my own routine.
Had to give up the food logging because it just didn’t have all the foods necessary. It doesn’t even consider different diets, especially when you’re vegan and always come short in “protein” while beans are considered carbs. Just ...
Like I said so much potential and such a bad execution.

Great for at home work out but improvements are needed

I think this works good for at home work outs but not the gym so much. It’s kind of hard to jump around the gym and go back when your machine is taken. I think it should be set to complete each set on the machine before moving onto something new. Another improvement I think should be added is to add a cycle workout to the cardio along with the other options. Being a home I like this option. Lastly I do like the at home work outs but they get to me a little repetitive and it’s like the work outs tend to be the same and there is no real imagination put into them. It’s like someone got bored and just did the same things over and over again week after week.

Please don’t get the subscription

Short version: They trick you into buying a plan for a “trial” period immediately take it out your bank account and no matter if you like StrongHer or not during that week trial it doesn’t refund you
Long version: So I got the yearly subscription to try it out and the payment immediately got taken out of my card. I didn’t care too much about this because I figured I’d like StrongHer . I was wrong the workouts are fine I guess but honestly don’t think it’s tailored to you personally either way I just didn’t like StrongHer after three days of trying it out so I cancelled it but I doubt I’ll be getting a refund(even though there was a trial week) It’s just not worth it in my opinion there’s so many better apps that don’t trick you into “free trials” only for you not to get your money back if end up not liking it.

Nice Workout-App Lacking

As far as the workouts goes they are outstanding. The issues that I have have to do with the user-ability of StrongHer itself.

1.You cannot exit the screen during the workout rest period at all or else it will pause the timer. I would like to see StrongHer continue the timer in the background and notify the user when the timer is up.

2. You cannot view the upcoming exercises in the workout once you started. This is an issue as you cannot view the details of each exercise until your on said exercise. This is frustrating as I like to preview to remind myself of form and motion for each one during the rest period.

3. You cannot change out any exercise if needed. So if you need to adjust the workout, you will have to do it prior to the workout, or pause your workout to find an alternative.

These may be minor things to some people but it’s enough for me to move on to a new app after my first three month paid period. I would definitely stay with StrongHer if these things were addressed because like I said, the workouts are great!

Waste of time.

I don’t mind paying for a product or subscription, but StrongHer really irritates me. It feels almost like a scam. But I just spent 10 minutes building my profile on StrongHer, just to realize there is no free version. I feel like StrongHer should be upfront about its fees, rather than wasting peoples time. If it’s going to cost money, I want to know from the first page, not after I’ve spent a decent amount of time creating a profile. I’m only leaving this review so people understand that before they waste their time.

Update response to developer- I don’t really care how much time you invest in your app. I’m not complaining about the fact that it costs money. I’m complaining about the fact that you’re wasting peoples time without being upfront.

Because things may become hectic around here, I've taken breaks from working out for a few days or even months at a period. With StrongHer, I can jump right in regardless of my current fitness level! I don't enjoy wasting time, so I want to feel like I've put in some effort, but I also don't want to have a frustratingly difficult workout. Melissa offers a variety of levels, as well as the ability to provide training feedback and adaptations for each activity.

good app all around

Taking a break from working out for a few days or even a few months is recọmmended because things can get very busy around here. I've done this before. With StrongHer, I can start right away, no matter how fit I am now! I don't like to waste time, so I want to feel like I worked hard, but I also don't want to have a workout that is too hard. Melissa has a lot of different levels, and she can give training feedback and make changes to each activity. ‌

It actually works

I first began using this app in 2019 when there was free trial. this app helped me lose over 20 lbs in 2016. Recently, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, all of the gyms have closed. Working out at home can be daunting for someone who only does gym workouts. StrongHer is great. It has worked on my part of the body I've wanted to maintain. This is the one app you should pay a membership fee for. The home gym - build muscle series is a must-buy. As long as you're motivated, you WILL see results with StrongHer!

Excited...then Disappointed

I was really excited about StrongHer and loved that it would help me track everything I needed to. I even paid for a subscription (not something I ever really do) and was hopefully I’d stay motivated that way. I loved it the first 2-3 weeks...then I realized all the workouts were repeating. It was very upsetting to find out I had paid a lot of money for personalized workouts every week just to learn that the same 2-3 weeks of workouts just repeated over and over again. Definitely a waste of money! You can find better and more diverse workouts online for free. Really disappointed and still have several months of a subscription left...

Love This app!

It has helped me a lot. I have always felt that one day I would be an active person. Well, life happened and I needed something to focus my mind, so Enterstrongher was a good choice. It's everywhere you go plus it is tailored to each fitness level (no really check it out, everyone can benefit). Being locked down in the state of Michigan and in Covid19, StrongHer has helped me focus on my goals while also giving me peace of mind! You must discover your true self!

Changes are needed...

The exercise/workout portion of StrongHer is ok, the rest of it is 👎👎👎. The diet part is useless. There aren’t enough varieties in the food choices and no way to import ingredients/information in. You have to choose from what’s available, which is not a whole lot. You have to use other apps if you want to accurately track your diet. The only app it syncs to is Apple Health, which isn’t accurate at all. StrongHer is too expensive for all of the limitations. There’s lots of free apps out there that are better AND will sync with other apps to more accurately track your data. StrongHer would be better if it would just skip the diet all together or sync with an app like MyFitnessPal.

Good app but needs improvement.

The exercises themselves are good but here are my complaints
-you can’t alter or change any particular exercise if you don’t have that piece of equipment or someone at the gym is on it. You should be able to change the order of exercises if needed based on gym availability.
-no weight recommendations are given. Nor is there a place where you enter the weights you’re using to see your progression
-the exercises are too short, and there doesn’t seem to be a way to increase their length to customize.
-i can’t get the workout to “download” today. So glitches need to be resolved.

Highly recommend!

I downloaded StrongHer a while ago but never used it till just now. It’s really cool and useful for home workouts. It times you and take the brain work out of it. The workouts range in time but I did a few minute one for my arms and I felt it pretty quick. I love that there are videos to show you how to do the workouts correctly. Once you start there’s nothing you need to do besides pay attention and follow along. Where’s this been all my life?

By

The only app I’ve never uninstalled

I have tried many many apps to do some sport when I don’t hit the gym, and this one is the only survivor of many downloads. It is incredible, there’s a huge display of exercises for all levels beginner intermediate and advanced. Not only it tracks your calories but it’s also synchronized with apple health and Lifesum. There are videos to detail every movement and honestly it is very Well mede.

Simple, Easy, Amazing!

I recommended this to my mom who is trying to loss weight but hasn’t worked out in two years but I also use it religiously as an athlete. That shows the range of levels and abilities that StrongHer is useful for! The guide encourages you to keep going and the timed amount encourages to make it to the end! An awesome download and storage well used!

Love

I absolutely love StrongHer. It motivates me and keeps the workouts interesting. I can see results. I am so grateful for StrongHer , for the fact that I’m able to do it in the comfort of my home or at the gym and for the fact that it’s free/super affordable (if you opt for premium). It’s also great for all fitness levels. I highly recommend this.

By

Amazing!

The fact that StrongHer is free blows my mind! So many workouts that don’t require equipment and they all can be done in your bedroom. There’s different levels and you can play your own music in the background! Couldn’t ask for more from a paid app let alone a free one. Thank you!

By

Definitely the best

This is the best workout app i have ever had. Not only is it great because it’s free but they have different variations of intensity and the type of workout you wanna do. I have been getting compliments left and right and after have 3 kids i didn’t think I’d ever look this good again.

By

Loving this app

Loving StrongHer and the choice of workouts. Highly recommended. I love the fact you could do a 7 min workout, or you could do a series of different workouts over an Hour. Would really recommend StrongHer and look forward to more workouts.

By

Wondeful

I love how it actually burns when I workout and this makes it easier with the lady talking to me so I love StrongHer and I’m only 12 years old trying to lose weight even though my mom says I don’t have to and I look perfectly fine but it really helps.

By

Strongher app first impression.

I’ll start by saying You are a great person for taking the time to create StrongHer for everyone around the world. this app is a very easy to use app. It keeps me wanting more, and it makes working out easy. I would to say thank you and I’m really for the Journey.

Deceptive marketing, garbage content, and thieving subscription practices. If you sign up for the trial and cancel before it's over, don't expect to be able to use the rest of the trial or get a refund. It's gone, as is your money. Customer service is non-existent. I've been trying to get a refund for what can only be called a 'fake' trial for a week with zero response. Not to mention the Health Guide+Meal Plan packet does not contain anything useful...certainly not worth $36+. They contain basic common sense and 8 lackluster recipes...nothing unique, profound, or useful. Stop using overblown false advertising and skeevy practices to sell stuff.

rawchel   3 years ago

For some reason they charged me for 3 months after my $1 week trial. I contacted them to cancel, looked in my "subscriptions" they provided on their website, and there is nothing. Apparently, they have a guest option and can’t “associate” it with my account. Their contact through the app is also FB only, so if you don’t have Fb you’re SOL. I contacted them after I was charged and they keep referring me to their terms and conditions like that answers everything. I don’t care if it’s a subscription, it “renewed” for three months?! Why?? And without ANY prior notification. There is essentially zero tracking for when your trial started or ends or when you will be charged so SCAM scam scam and horrible teams trying to support their absurd abuse of the system. I won’t be recommending this to absolutely anyone, no matter how “differently” they think they help you lose weight.
