Zimela is a platform that gives control back to the individual, curating career resources (in the form of other’s stories, relevant events and programming, etc.) for others based on their interests and needs.
Use this app to discover events, programs, and communities relevant to your career near you. On this app, you’ll also learn from the inspirational stories of others in your industry, and share pieces of your own. What you’ll get to do with the this app app: - Find industry relevant events, programs, and conferences near you - Connect with the stories of friends and colleagues, and also get plugged in to relevant community groups - Publicize events, programs, and other opportunities made to inspire others What if there was a place where you could browse through different roles in an industry of interest, and follow the career journeys of people in the kind of place you want to be? What if you could easily share back your experiences with people who want to learn from them, and publicize helpful events, programs and community groups for those industries? We think it’d be pretty cool too. this app is a platform that gives control back to the individual, curating career resources (in the form of other’s stories, relevant events and programming, etc.) for others based on their interests and needs. People not only get jobs because of people they know, but also learn that the jobs exist from the same sources. Those people in our lives— the neighbor down the road, friend down the hall, acquaintance of a colleague at work— they have the information that helps direct us to our next steps. Let this app be that person for you, connecting you to the right plug.

I’m not the demographic that this app is designed for. I am however appalled at fellow non-Black people jealous that their lives aren’t bad enough, offended that they didn’t get an app to help them, ignorant of how difficult it is being Black, particularly female. (I’ve only met one Black female coder in 25 years) Heaven forbid one of them write something to help the situation, because it might offend a white person’s delusion that there’s no racism. What pathetic cry babies. Go write an app that helps people if you want to do something good in this world. Or shut up and go back to playing Fortnite.

You could join ... although it’s promoted for black women. In the country that I was born and raised here in America where history was built off of Racism and continues in many ways, .. this apps dose a whole lot for me ! And no matter what race you are I’m sure if you join, it will for you too ! Just join the app !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love this app and project so much!!! Love the interface, and even though I am not an IT gal I’m definitely recommending it to ALL my friends! This is something that is going to be useful for young minority women fresh out of college, trying to find various opportunities and mentors! Keep up the work Erika!! Can’t wait to see more of your amazing work!
