Too limited in audio streaming

My baby has some breathing problems and one reason I like to have a monitor is so we can hear his breathing. I thought Luna would be good, but it stops audio streaming whenever it thinks it doesn’t pick up sound. I constantly have to turn the audio streaming back on every few minutes unless I place the baby station phone right next to his mouth, which isn’t practical as he moves while sleeping. I wish Luna would have given more information about the streaming capabilities. I needed something that could stream audio all the time, not something that stops every few minutes.

There also should be more settings in Luna . There is an echo mode but no explanation as to what this is or way to turn it on or off. There’s also no way to turn down the alarm volume, so if you have the parent station volume set to high so you can hear, the alarm will be very loud.

I bought Luna and these are obnoxious bugs/lack of features that made me stop using it. However, for what it does do, it does it well, and if you are looking for something that cannot stream audio full time and only stays on for a short while then it is useful for checking in on your baby. But it’s not a replacement for a real monitor.

A little glitchy

Luna works great for our needs. Our house is a ranch style and it’s hard to hear the baby when on the opposite side of the house. We use Luna a few times a weeks when we want to watch tv once the baby is in bed. Luna works great, but sometimes the audio cuts out. We like to just listen for the baby and not use the sleep alerts. Also it is a bummer that you cannot use any other functions on your phone while Luna is open unless you pay. But over all it works well for our needs.

Hard to Connect

Husband and I were on vacay with our newborn and two littles and downloaded this as an interim baby monitor on both our iPhones. Once downloaded, the iPhone designated as baby monitor kept noting the baby as awake even though she was asleep. Possibly was picking up the sound machine as crying? But we couldn’t get it to switch to “asleep” at all. Also, might have been the wifi at the rental, but the parent unit kept disconnecting from the baby unit and we would receive a notification for each disconnection. Lastly, it kept asking up to upgrade without an option to bypass other than a 15 minute “trial.” So it would seem that Luna is not functional whatsoever without purchasing the “premium” option. Would seem more practical to just list Luna at the purchase price of the premium membership so it would not be the hassle of trying to use Luna without success. Overall, couldn’t use Luna for our stay and off to search for a better option!

Some small features would make a big difference

It would be nice to be able to turn off the power saving mode so you could the video on. It would also be nice to be able to further adjust the sensitivity since we use white noise and that tends to trigger the alarm. Lastly, I’ve noticed that if the alarm is triggered and then the noise level falls back below the threshold it will turn off the audio, again making this less useful if you want to continue listening to your child. Luna also seems to crash quite a bit forcing me to go into my child’s room while they are sleeping... several areas to work on.

Meh- I wanted to like it

The connection was spotty and always dripping with no auto-reconnection. You had to restart the whole process and be close to the baby station where a sleeping child likely is. The notifications were noisy as you are turning on when you leave the room, again with a sleeping child. Lastly, I was running the baby station on my iPad where I also had a night light and sound machine running, but you could not reliably run all these apps concurrently which is annoying. I was hoping for so much more of a good solution while not at home with all of the tools I usually have for a comfortable sleep for my child and stress relief of me knowing I could hear her.

Keeps Interrupting and waking baby up

I purchased the Premium version to get the "most" out of Luna but.. It always shows the baby is awake, even though the baby is asleep, with 0 movement and 0 noise. I've yet to see " baby is asleep" sign of Luna . It also keeps interrupting the connection even tho I'm 5 ft away in another room & the Wifi signal is Strong, I have to constantly keep going back and forth to end the session and start over with connection. And every time I reconnect it notifies the connection with a loud ringing making sure the baby Wales up. I'm tired of trying to make it work, Will be canceling subscription and deleting then seeking another form of Monitor..

Great for travel, a few bugs

I still prefer a regular monitor but this is great for going to friends houses, grandma’s, etc. Cute interface and works well for the most part.

There’s a few bugs with the audio though, if I’m streaming and it notifies me that she’s awake and then again that she’s asleep, the audio stops after the second notification and I have to go in to Luna and restart it. And sometimes when I start the audio I have to start it twice before it actually streams anything. If they fixed that it would be excellent.

Works well

The lowest sensitivity is too high. It picks up the fan, air conditioner, me walking around the house, people talking across the house, etc. I had to turn the alarm off because that sets it off from across the house too. Only time it works perfectly is when no one is inside and that’s not ideal for a baby. I’ve switched between three different devices testing them all as baby and parent stations. Doesn’t change it. Still, great as a free app. Worth the $6 upgrade if your WiFi drops out randomly.

Unintuitive, Limited

The controls in this are incredibly on intuitive. There are few controls or preferences that I can find for many of the features. Video streaming doesn’t work for very long for whatever reason. Instead of just sustained audio streaming, there’s a weird alarm that is enabled by default and which seems to cause audio screening to stop whenever it believes the baby is “awake“. There’s a big notification that it’s in “eco-mode“ but there seems to be no way to turn the eco-mode off. Luna basically functions but once you start digging into it there are a lot of limitations and baffling design choices.

Worked perfectly except

The only reason I gave Luna a 3 is visual, but keep in mind I used Luna almost 2 years ago. I am giving Luna another chance because I a not a technical person, and this was pretty easy and fast. So I will download Luna 1 more time and I’ll see if there is a big difference from then and now. Over all it kept me informed when my baby moved or was awake and that kept me at ease . And that was the big goal when it comes down to having any monitor for our little ones.

Works pretty good

When I push Stream Audio I can’t hear anything, I can only hear when I push Stream Video. It doesn’t matter what Sensitivity I have it on. Also I wish I could speak to what I’m watching on the camera. I would also like to be able to change sound of alarm and be able to zoom on the camera from the device I’m watching.

Great for special needs kids too!

My son has seizures, and we needed a quick over night option until we were able to get out to buy a monitor. This works fantastically, we won’t be spending $100’s on a monitor. The premium is a great deal and much cheaper than buying a video baby monitor. It took 2 minutes to set up, very easy, and it is great on battery life! We wont be buying a baby monitor, this is perfect!

Stream keeps disconnecting

I tried a couple other baby monitor apps and couldn’t get any to work before this one. It’s been working pretty well, I can definitely hear the baby when he makes noise. I’m just streaming audio not video but for some reason the stream keeps disconnecting every 10 or 15 mins and I have to restart it. I’m not sure if that’s because of my WiFi or what but it’s a little annoying and I don’t feel like I could use this overnight because it might cut out and I wouldn’t notice.

A little bit unpredictable

We got Luna a few days ago because a physical baby monitor is currently out of the budget.
At first we loved using Luna even though it is a little bit sensitive to sounds. Our baby talks, growls, & just moves around a lot in general. Luna picked up all this which we got a kick out of. Fast forward a few days: it unexpectedly stopped working. We changed the sound sensitivity to try making sure the problem wasn’t a user error, still no luck. :/

So handy!

Sometimes we’re visiting family or want to hangout outside in the yard, or we’re camping and the baby is in a separate spot. Whatever the reason, it’s so nice to be able to have the baby monitor listen for you with having to hear the baby. And when I need to I can check out the video feed!

Works flawlessly!

I COULD HAVE GOTTEN BEN& JERRY’S WITH 6.99

first of all i can’t mute your notifications? when the connection drops a SUPER LOUD sound plays.. could have woken up the baby through the wall!
Secondly, as soon as I go to another app for less than a minute, the connection stops “unexpectedly”... so what the hell did I just pay for?! what happened to background monitoring??
AND... video stream doesn’t work have of the time.. i press it, it spins around and around and then nothing happens.
With these unfriendly and lack of features you’d dare charge 7 bucks?!?! I feel completely ripped off.

Free version unusable

The in app pop up for purchasing the premium version, cannot be disabled or closed. This means unless you plan to keep trying for 15 min stretches at a time, the non premium version is unusable.

The aggressive and spammy form of the pop up, is ruining Luna. I was going to buy premium, but this has made look elsewhere.

Easy to use & works great

We were on vacation and found ourselves in a situation where we needed a monitor for our special needs son. I’m impressed with how Luna is able to conserve battery while also accurately monitoring my child. We did buy Luna after trying it out because I can see how it could make life easier at home as well.

Great alternative to a monitor

I didn’t want to buy one more baby thing, so I downloaded this and it does just what I need. I am not someone who needs to see and hear everything in the room all the time, so I like that when you are notified of noise you can stream audio and video to see if you’re needed or if the baby is just turning over in bed.

Trash

Luna is trash. Connectivity is poor, even though my WiFi is always perfect. Video monitoring has to be enabled on the baby station which means if I wanted to watch video I’d have to walk back into my
Kid’s room in order to turn on the video, which is stupid because at that point I’ll just look at her while I’m in there. The lag is like 5 seconds so by the time Luna tells me she’s awake I can already hear her crying. Very poor and dissatisfied with the fact that it also forces you to pay for it without telling you when you download.

Great app! Audio skips, though...

Great app for when baby is napping in a different spot, great while traveling, etc.

One thing, though. The audio skips for about .5 seconds every 3 or 4 seconds. Anyone else notice this?

Great price and product

Although WiFi is necessary the delay is only apart by 5 second but I was able to maintain visual and audio on my little one. To the developer despite minor glitches thank you for such a great product at a price that saved me so much. I will cherish Luna for many moons to come.

By

Very Pushy

The idea behind Luna is great, but tonight is the second night I’ve had it and it will not let me use the monitor because an add for the premium version is continuously popping up on my screen. I was planning on upgrading, but now I am not sure that I want to because the continuous pushing to upgrade is obnoxious and off-putting. Something to keep in mind before you download.

Best tested so far.

Our camera broke. We needed a replacement quick so we tested Luna and a lot of more.
Audio is a little awkward sometimes. It doesn’t work every time right away. But restarting helps.
For using it for free I give it five stars and it was the best for free of all tested.
