Absolute worst customer service!!!!

The one star I suppose is for the terrific interface which is simple, fun, and beautiful.
What’s lurking behind it is just plain old terrible customer service. 1-hour plus wait times to talk to the first person who can’t help you. They are the gatekeeper to the mysterious “advisor” who is the only one who can actually fix your account or make any decisions. He or she is another two hours away, but if you hit their closing time the hold music will go dead but your phone will keep running. That’s the hint that you could be on the line till next Tuesday and nobody will touch your account until they’ve gone home, slept and had a nutritious dinner and complete breakfast, walk the dog and washed the car before they will mosey on in and make you wait another three hours before the attend your life and death financial matters. I am not kidding when I say they told me I would have to WAIT 7 BUSINESS DAYS FOR AN “ADVISOR” TO CALL ME BACK!!!!
I kid you not. I swear. With no sense of irony at all they told me to fix my account to where my direct deposit would not get reject I would have to wait SEVEN (7) BUSINESS days , not just like linear days of the week to include the 48 hours of weekends, but 7 only counting M-F and excluding holidays, to fix my account to accept the money that I slave over during the week S-Sat.
Don’t be fooled by the pretty app and overspending on advertising. It’s a sham.

Sofi invest update

I know this is a lot but I think you should try a crypto car. The user would have a crypto portfolio in that portfolio her can have whatever crypto he/she wants. And as many (at least 5). Then a user fills that portfolio with money not the currency. SoFi then calculates how many shares they will get for each share. Like a 24/7 currency monitor that will always reflect whatever dollar amount he/she has in the “this app Crypto” accnt. Then he or she can make purchases and sell with crypto with everyday purchases. Once your a bank you’ll be the first with this
Imagine to be able to not even exchange coin because “this app Crypto” is the wallet. You just link your accnt or transfer any other this app accnt, fund the crypto and go. Since you guys are all about learning you can persuade them by teaching people to sell and trade with Bitcoin is an investment. Yes at times a risky one. But luckily enough there’s more than one coin. And that’s where you can lure them. It can be a safe haven for your money. So instead of risking your money on one coin, this app Crypto will hold 5 coins of your choice and. Your amount in coin will reflect the amount of money in accnt/ portfolio

Also add a dark mode to your app and a beginner and professional tab on your invest app to allow for more and better details on charts stocks the obviously options.

SoFi has pluses and minuses

On the plus side is the possibility of a fully integrated personal financial system that incentivises sound practices like saving and investing. On the negative side, SoFi (and desktop interface) feel very cluttered with this app offerings that I can’t use or don’t need (and can’t hide or get rid of), which litters my screen and pushes the features I do use or need further down the page and makes me have to hunt for things. The interface needs to be much more customisable to alleviate this problem for committed users.

A larger problem for me personally is that I want to move my primary banking and bill pay to this app, but their tools for tracking and categorising spending are so limited that this could ultimately be a deal-killer for me. You are limited to a few general spending categories which they define and the only way to customise transactions within these pre-determined categories are with tags (which are not searchable). Every time I categorize a transaction, I have to visually scan through a growing list of tags, trying to find the right one for each transaction. This makes the simple act of trying to accurately track my spending a tedious and laborious process. I hope they rectify this soon with more robust categorisation tools (like Mint) or I may have to abandon any plans to migrate my spending to this app since I depend on accurately tracked spending reports in order to do my taxes.

Cool concept but they won’t verify my account

This is partially a complaint about the business, but the business and SoFi seem to be two in one. I like the idea but SoFi is a little bit laggy and it WILL NOT verify my account. I keep getting emails saying they couldn’t verify it and so I was going to try re-entering my name and info in case something was wrong (and/or they needed a middle name or initial) and it turns out I can’t even change the info I entered in whole unless I call the company. The problem with THAT is that there were practically a hundred people in line ahead of me on the phone and the whole reason I got SoFi was because I wanted a quick solution, and I don’t have all day. I am sure SoFi is great when it works, but there is no reason they should be able to verify my personal info and let me use SoFi . Or at the very least, tell me if you want a middle name or something so I can include that the first time rather than spending an hour trying to fix my account. Also, I was offered ten dollars in free stocks when I got SoFi , but after re-attempting to make an account, it changed my promo award to five dollars, which is a small detail but it’s annoying nonetheless. As of now, I’m still waiting for my account to be verified, or to find a way to fix my account. They don’t even have a support email, only chat or phone, which is difficult if you don’t have two hours to wait in line.

Amazing app with a few suggestions for the developers

I was looking for a way to have all my finances in one place and this is it. They have this awesome feature called vaults that allows you to store money for different goals/uses. At first SoFi looks like an advertisement, but all are important products they offer so I understand. If you are going to have crypto there needs to be a way to have the keys! The credit card is above average in terms of rewards. The investing side seems a little game like I would prefer to it to be more professional looking, coming from Charles Schwab. I am very excited to move my student loans into this app when the time comes. Relay is also an interesting feature where you can track your activity. I would like the ability to set a budget and then compare my spending to what I set. Being able to do this in app would be a game changer. Also, if there is a way to be able to loan out shares and get paid that would be an amazing addition. I would also like the ability to choose a stock allocation and my monthly contribution be spread out accordingly, very similar to how it is done with m1 finance. Also the more financial data I can pull up about a company the better, I can’t use your app without pulling up seeking alpha for a more complete picture.

Old guy new to Fintech...and other techie products

I’m an older man that is learning these new millennial trends like online banking. Because of my age and disability, my generation like to do things the old way, like going to a physical bank. But as of late, I have a hard time being mobile and waiting in the long lines because of the pandemic. I had no choice but to conquer my fears to learn about how to use the computer and understand the latest technology. And believe me, many of us old people struggle to learn the latest technologies.

Regarding this app, I can not believe the simplicity of using SoFi . It is easier to use than what I thought because of difficulties from other online Fintech companies that made me struggle. Because I never understood about playing the stock market, this app made it easy for me to buy shares, which I never had the education or knowledge on where to start. Not only that, the customer service were helpful in guiding me when I did have little hiccups. Much credit to this new company making my banking online easier in my life.

Promising app, but needs improvement.

this app is one of the most exciting fintech companies in recent years. I recently have been evaluating many different apps and financial institutions and the biggest appeal about this app is that it offers many services in one package. SoFi , however, needs some updates before I decide to align with this app permanently. Firstly, there are too many “ads” and “promotions” within SoFi . I wouldn’t mind paying like $1 or $2 a month to remove these, but they should try to eliminate these from SoFi - it “cheapens” the feel and I’m afraid this app may lose credibility as it’s attempting to acquire new users. The charting in the investment portion of SoFi needs a UI update, as well. It doesn’t feel responsive enough, is not snappy, and is slightly sluggish. Sluggish charting also doesn’t help with trading tools, or at least that’s my hypothesis. Finally, the general look/feel and branding need slight updating. Just one opinion - I think it would look nicer if “this app” was instead spelled “this app” or something like that, but that’s nitpicking of me! Compared to other apps though, the general UI could be improved - mostly just talking about the main menu here. Thanks this app for all that you’re doing! I am excited because I have to believe you’ve got exciting updates to come on your roadmap. If some of the above is addressed in some manner, I’ll definitely be a longtime user and will work to migrate my finances.

Great app, could use some quality of life improvements

this app is hands down my favorite app for fee-free automated investing and it’s pretty good at manual investing too. Personally I don’t use any of the other loan or relay options. I think it would be helpful to be able to set a “tab” as a default landing page when opening SoFi , so for me, the invest tab, just to save me a few taps every time I open SoFi . Manual stock watchlist sorting would be great so we can keep our favorites on top of the list but still be able to switch to % or $ day change when needed. It would also be great if you could change the timespan of the watchlist stock graphs like you can when you click on a single stock. A 1 week, month, quarter, year, etc. view would be really helpful as a toggle at the top of the watchlist so you can get an idea as to how all of your stocks are trending over time at once on the watchlist section. Without having to click on every single stock once and then backing out to check the next for week or month trend.

Super slow

I joined this app initially because of the high interest available on the savings account. After going I opened up an active investing, and auto investing and a Roth IRA account because it was slick and easy to use. I have since realized it's easy to put money in, not easy to take money out. I decided I wanted more control over my investing so I attempted to liquidate my Auto Investing account and move it into my money account, it initiated a sell of all my positions on February 4th with the money sent to my this app savings account. The invest account shows as "completed" finally on the 6th with all my positions sold and gone from that account but they are not in my savings account. That can take an additional 3 days which means this entire process is going to take an entire week with the weekend in the middle. And, to just like on more, the ability to cancel auto deposits to any of your this app accounts does not work from the web, clicking the cancel button does nothing, you literally have to use SoFi or you can't cancel auto deposits. It's obvious this app is far to "young" in the financial space and has a long way to go before I could ever recommend them for any service. Oh, and the savings rates have dropped drastically so that account isn't worth keeping open either.

Growing pains but well worth it

So, I am shifting all of my money away from my big name bank (after all, it seems a little archaic to be banking with a company that uses a horse-drawn carriage as their mascot). First, I will say that this app is not perfect. I have had to call their support several times through the setup process due to nuances in their systems, getting a joint account holder approved, ect. However, in my experience, the customer service is phenomenal. Thus, any of the issues that I have experienced has been taken care of swiftly and without compromise. Additionally, the benefit of having my banking (this app money), investing (this app Investing), and loan options all in one place is very useful. I am a medical student, so I hope to refinance my loans through this app once I go to residency. To summarize, this app is not perfect. It seems they are experiencing some growing pains. However, they have adequate staffing to face these growing pains. I will also say that they walk laps around the other banking companies out there (even some of the other “new” startups). Also, SoFi is clean cut and simple to use. I greatly appreciate this app!

Questionable payment practices

I like the interest rates offered by this app. I initially applied for a loan about a year ago and was denied. A month later, I reapplied and my loan was approved. The difference being that the first time I applied, a cash bonus was tied to it. Since they rejected me, they didn’t need to pay it. The second application apparently was approved because I no longer had the cash bonus tied to it. Convenient. 🤨. Since then, there have been payment issues. My most recent issue was that my payment was due on Monday, 4/27. I am enrolled in autopay. They took the money from my bank account on Friday, 4/24. What if I didn’t have enough in my account that day? I would have likely incurred overdraft fees from my bank. Why take money from someone’s bank account a full business day before it is owed? The payment didn’t (show) process in their system is until 4/28. However, they had my money on Friday, so according to their records, the interest accrued through Monday. In actuality, it should have only accrued through Friday because that’s when they took my money. It was not available for me to spend on Friday, so they had it. No other accounts I have follow this practice. Why does this app?

Everything you need from a true investing app

I would have given this platform 5 stars but due to the amount of time and uncertainty on how long it will take to review and approve my account I can’t it has been 12 hrs and still no update I can’t wait onto start trading !! Also what makes me give SoFi four stars, well now that I’m including this I should have rated 3 stars but this is a honest review so I’ll be fair. But what’s frustrating is that most of these investment services or “apps” use plaid when connecting your bank account and that is soooooo frustrating when I can’t link any of my bank accounts to this app because they don’t support my institution or bank so now I’m trying to figure out how to add money when I have 3 bank accounts and none of them will connect ugggh I just wanna trade!! But overall if you’re looking for a good overall investing experience this is SoFi to go for you will not be dissapointed!!! I love the fact u can see what other users are investing and watching as well pretty neat !!!

Most Excellent

I am rewriting my review for this app. I feel like my first one wasn’t detailed enough to do it justice. The this app app is an all around efficient app. You get the chance to have a checking account, savings, investing, cryptocurrency, IRAs,Relay, and now a credit card. Plus SoFi is super simple to use and easy to understand. Plus their really aren’t any fees to this account and I was fortunate enough I was able to be grandfathered into the all atm reimbursement. Plus I took advantage of several sign up bonuses they offer and it really got me into investing. It doesn’t have all the l stocks and ETFs but they do offer the most popular ones. The interest they pay at the moment is low but that is only because the feds lowered the interest rates. So without a doubt I’m sure they will raise it again once the Feds do. Plus their debit card has cash back offers. With the relay you are also able to see your spending and track your credit score. All around I would recommend this cash management account to anyone. 5 Stars! NO CAP!

SoFi doesn’t care about human life, just their money and company policy

They won’t even help my son take out his money so he can get his medication. Been two weeks trying to access cash. Even talked to the managers, but it was the same line about how they can’t help. You’re telling me a company this big doesn’t have anyone smart enough to figure this issue out so he can get his meds today? The manager told my son to just hang on for one more day and the money will be available tomorrow. What if he doesn’t have one more day? What happened to companies that care about compassion and doing the right thing by their customers? I am asking everyone who reads this to share this everywhere you can so no other people will be hurt by their platform. It’s wrong, just plain wrong. If something happens I will the news will know why, it’s because of this app. Talked to three different people and none of them can help. Wow, what does that say about your capability as a company? I don’t want my son to end up as another veteran who takes his own life. this app knows all this, but they simply do not care; otherwise he would have his money right now and on his way to get his meds. Who here believes a fin tech company this size can’t figure out someway to help? Yeah nobody…

One Stop Financial Shop

I’m extremely pleased with the usefulness and the versatility the this app app provides overall. It combines the best of all worlds into one great application for everyday use. I say everyday because you’re rewarded for logging in and checking on your finance portfolio. In addition they have hands down one of the best referral programs I’ve seen to date with a number of ways you can earn real money in your pocket with minimal effort on your part. Included with the money account, which acts as a checking with no monthly fees as of today, you can create savings vaults to help achieve your long-term financial goals, as well as a this app money world debit card through MasterCard. This is an amazing oh way to organize your finances in one location that is not going to limit you to view only. The this app money app allows you total control over your finances from investing, spending, saving, earning, and more. A definite thumbs up and a for sure recommendation.

Caution to potential members

If you’re thinking about joining just be aware what money you put into the invest account you might not get back. I had some financial strain that i had to sell some securities. The funds settled and ive gone through the withdrawal process. Its been over two weeks and they wont give me the money. Six times they have told me to cancel and redo it with no progress. I had one agent cancel my withdrawal without notifying me after i had told him I didn’t want to. Ive asked to speak to a supervisor probably ten times and still haven’t spoke to one because apparently we have to schedule a call. Well after so many requests i still haven’t received a call. When ive asked their agents why i have to cancel and redo a withdrawal their response was “ i just think its a good idea” when I requested who their SRO is they wouldn’t give me that info either so i had to find it myself. Its pretty sad they knew my financial stress recently and absolutely NO help. They just keep holding my money from me. Also this isnt the only issue be very careful with the money account as well. Whenever i do get my money im closing all accounts here. Which is disappointing cause ill be honest i was super stoked joining the first day. Good luck to new members.

Terrible Investor platform & customer service

I am an extremely experienced online investor since E*trade was started. I left them when I only had a few thousands to invest. Why? Customer service was terrible and they began to tie up your money for inexplicable reasons. This led to missed trade opportunities & 5-10 day holds with no interest or recourse. Now, I have a portfolio a thousand time larger after a couple decades and I decided to test the waters to spread out my risk. this app failed and failed miserably. This was after they solicited me. They failed to execute a very simple requested trade. Not a huge trade but a test. They failed to execute without explanation other than my request wasn’t considered substantial and/or a priority. I had to hunt someone down via the maze of click deterrent Bots and the limited app capabilities. I don’t recommend SoFi or it’s other services that request any transfer of funds. Stay with a proven and blue chip firm. The way a company treats whom they believe are the smallest of customers is the ways they will eventually treat the largest of customers. Also in this digital age there is absolutely no reason it takes 3-5 day to get your funds back/transferred when it took less than 24 to take it out of your account.

Good start.

I’ve been using SoFi for months. Overall I love the company and what it stands for. SoFi itself is great except the investing features. They need more polishing to compete with the more sophisticated brokers. Real time ticker updates and better technicals are a start. Lots of people have been asking for options trading. Not big deal to me, but would be a nice addition. Pre and after market trading would be great. The addition of other cryptocurrencies, most notably doge coin ...and this app would take over the market. I believe this app will add some of these features over time so I’m moving all my investments to this app and waiting for app improvements. People are angry with Robinhood and TdAmeritrade and looking for a place to take their business. If this app can execute on a better investment app experience, they can dominate the retail trading market. The rest of SoFi is fantastic. this app is my preferred checking account and the this app credit card is my go to card. You are so close to having the perfect app. Just polish the investment features and see how fast the customers come!!

Once great app has become problematic

I was once a huge fan of this app and their app, at least for investments. I like the relative easy of executing transactions in SoFi. I also think they struck a nice balance of information for beginning investors and those with a bit more expensive. While they can be sluggish to update some movement, I was okay with that at first. That said, I’ve recently begun contemplating a move elsewhere. As of the last couple of updates, I no longer receive valuable (literally) push notifications about changes in stock prices. In addition, I had an issue with the photo in my app that made me question whether SoFi was secure (photo not belonging to me appeared in my profile and I didn’t put it there). After several calls to this app, I was assured there was no security issue and that it was an engineering problem. Despite that, I went ahead and opened an account with a larger, more well-known brokerage with much more information and a much better app experience. For now, I have left my current investments with this app in my this app account as there are tax consequences for liquidation, but I certainly won’t be making any new investments through this app and have cancelled my recurring deposits.

Love it, but I’d like to see more!

I have been using this app for about a month now, and I LOVE IT. Being able to see where my money is going, learning more about investing, and having a ton of tools to help me as I learn financial independence as a college student is really helping me to get smart about my money and spending. I do feel like there are a few more tools that could be added to improve the budgeting aspect of SoFi. For instance, a round-up tool that could round up the remaining change in your purchases, to go toward stock or savings would be extremely beneficial. I’d also love if there was a way to create little secondary pots of money for me to allocate toward certain bills, like a separate pot for rent or my phone bill that I could accumulate separate from my checking account, and then move over to my checking once the bill is due, to prevent over spending (perhaps even an auto-transfer). All in all, I understand that SoFi is still growing and fine tuning what is already presented, but I would love to see these additional features added!

Really convenient and great bank

I was hesitant to move my money to a bank just starting out, but after making the move, I was really glad that I did. The interest rates are way higher than what I had before (Wells Fargo). Moving money to the investing services is around 2 clicks. You just transfer money from your bank account to this app Invest and then choose the dollar amount that you want invested into SPY or any other popular stock or etf. I do wish that they allowed instant buying/selling of shares (like Robinhood, WeBull, etc) but trading isn’t really the point of this app, it’s for long term investments. The fractional shares do work as advertised and are really interesting. They also have money vaults that are way more convenient than having separate checking accounts. I did have to contact support once and they were very helpful and had no issues. The free ATMs really work as well. They instantly send you reimbursement for any ATM fees. The debit card works like a charm as well.

Giving it a chance

I am giving SoFi 5stars because I do see how it can potentially be one of the best all-in-one financial app. However, I sadly am facing a very annoying issue with it and customer service has been less than great in dealing with this. SoFi has been showing me an error that reads “you’ve reached max attempts, try reconnecting banks on November 11, 2019” for the past month.. and I am not able to connect any funding sources. I basically see the potential yet it’s all useless to me so far. Customer service has been giving me answers like “hmmm... it’s weird.. send me a screenshot of the error and we’ll get back to you” and never follow-up. If this issue won’t get resolved in the upcoming 48 hours i’m closing the account and changing my stars rating.. If that can be resolved, I am happy to submit a fair review update because I truly want to love SoFi.
Finally, PLEASE catch up with the 2019 must-have dark mode option!! Thank you.

So far, so good!

I have been using this bank as a Christmas fund and not an everyday checking. I have put about $300 so far in about 2 1/2 months of having it and have almost gained $0.25! You will never see this in any other checking! Since I haven't used this for a normal checking, I haven’t fought with overdraft fees or any of that, but to watch my money grow as a Christmas fund is absolutely amazing and so much fun. This is better than a CD or mutual fund because there is no maturity date or anything of that sort to wait for, so I can pull the money out as I please. I have also talked to customer service and they have been very polite and willing so get all the answers I have asked about. I also havent run across anyone that seems to want to just push you off the phone and count you as another number. (Ex: I got 42 calls today. How many did you get?) This has been great in the almost 3 months and I have no complaints.

Wow, really great

this app is my new favorite financial management app. I’ve been using Wealthfront for years but this app offers some really useful features that Wealthfront lacks. It’s not perfect.. doesn’t support all my accounts and I wish it would open right into my Relay view by default, but for the most part I’m really impressed by what I’ve seen. As for suggestions, I wish I could tag multiple transactions at once and have it automatically tag similar items! Doing it manually one by one is time consuming.

Also it categorized incorrectly a lot of transfers as income/expenses. Wealthfront had that issue too but at least this app makes it easier to correct it. Also would be nice if it could track current home value based on Redfin estimate like Wealth does, not a big deal though.

Finally, I’m supposed to be getting a bonus signup offer after funding investment but haven’t seen it yet.. hopefully I’ll get it soon.

Always available and updates immediately

I switched so this app and am so thankful I did. We were using a different online only bank prior, a top name, and their ap was ALWAYS down at night. This wouldn’t be a problem for most, but I work night shift and do my banking at night. I appreciate that I always can see my money. Their ap has it all! Immediate notifications, immediate balance updates, and the ability to put your purchases into categories to map out your spending. It is incredibly easy to use. It is easy to send money to people/friends. The biggest thing I’m excited about it the vault beta. I almost did not pick this app due to wanting this from a different bank. I am so glad I picked this app and I really really hope they keep this option! It helps with saving and is a great back up Incase you’re short one week! Love it!

👍 app. Products need improvement

SoFi is useful especially with vaults that I can allocate money to for special occasions or events. I was very disappointed when I received the physical card though. As finely polished as the UI is in SoFi and online as well as promotional materials being full color and card stock material I had my hopes up for a card that was elegant and not too flashy. Unfortunately the card has a weird film over top of it that is not supposed to come off but is peeling nonetheless, the design is ok (7/10) and the colors are nice enough, but it doesn’t look like the card was made correctly. Maybe this was a one off, but I think it should have been caught by quality control if it wasn’t made correctly. But having the physical product be worse than SoFi , it is discouraging me from using it and made my overall perception of the company go down a bit.

By

Great but could be better.

I downloaded and received their card back in April and I was not expecting much. I actually was given the link and thought nothing of it, never used until a couple of months ago. I read up on the perks and it had me questioning why doesn’t anybody abuse this? this app reimburses fees, great for traveling whenever low on cash. No minimum, however they do a soft check on your credit, and a former 2.25% yield that shrunk down to a mere 1.80 as of now. can’t directly deposit money so that’s disappointing, still have to rely on a physical bank. Investing feature is underwhelming. I currently use M1 dinance and it does everything this app does but for free. No maintenance/manager fees. I would completely use one over the other if they had both of the best features. That might change soon since M1 might improve. I’m content with using both but honestly still could be better.

Bye bye bank fees

I am in the process of making my this app account my main checking account. The no fees makes it a no brainer. I used to have two bank accounts, one I’d use for savings and big bills, and the other for spending money here and there and smaller bills. In the spending account I was close to a negative balance without noticing. Long story short I had my gym membership and some other small subscription bills hit that account causing over $100 in overdraft fees. IF I HAD this app that never would have happened. They would have just denied the transactions or let my account go negative WITHOUT a fee. This bank account is really a no brainer. Sounds too good to be true but it’s NOT! It’s amazing and has changed the way I spend and save money.

Great services, good app, has some work to do

The interest rate and services offering of this app are wonderful, and the general functionality of SoFi is solid. However, SoFi could be improved through some simplification via customizability. The pages are often busy with articles and whatnot that I don’t care for, and there are multiple tabs in the menu along the bottom which are irrelevant to me and any other user who is uninterested in loans or have a separate brokerage account. If it were up to the user to decide which subjects are available in the bottom navigation, as well as having the option to remove information/education articles, SoFi would get both 5 stars and be hands down the best personal finance application. I understand this app wishing to entice users to their other products, but I can promise them it’s not through menus that only detract from the user experience.

Hello SoFi... Where have you been all my life?!

So I just closed out all of my accounts at Bank of America and Merrill Lynch and transitioned them over to this app. What a breath of fresh air to deal with a company that is efficient and is really there for you. They are still kinks that have to be worked out and features missing (having e-bills, multiple money accounts, integrated Zelle) that would be helpful but what I really like is that you can provide this feedback to them and it makes it into a feature queue. It makes you feel that you are more of a partner and not just a customer. Customer service is phenomenal and they make sure to follow up with you to make sure you issue has been resolved.

College Student Starter Pack

As my parents are slowly but surely starting to cut me off monetarily, I have been taking initiative of my own financial footing. Opening my this app account is undoubtedly at the top of my Young Adult Smart Decisions List. Now, I can track my payments, send money, earn 2.0 APY and invest my money all on one platform.

Highly recommend for any young adult looking to invest. I’ve turned my friends off Acorns and their monthly payments. Instead, this app offers no fees— and on top of that, I can invest in stock bits for all the companies that I cannot yet afford. Still climbing to my financial independence, but this app is a sure thing. 10/10 recommendation!

Good but could be better

I primarily use my this app account as a savings account and while I’m fairly satisfied overall, there are some annoyances. It takes quite a while to both transfer money to the account from my US Bank checking and also deposit checks. I get paid on Fridays and on those days I’ll write myself a check to deposit into my this app account but the funds aren’t available until Wednesday even though the money is generally taken out of my US Bank account the day after I deposit the check. I’m not spending money out of my this app account so I guess it doesn’t matter that much to me but I’m sure it’s a pain for others who would like to spend the money they’re depositing.

Great customer service

I believed had an issue with my Money account. I misread some things and sent some emails. Every email was answered timely, when I didn’t get the answer I wanted, they called right away. I talked with Erin and Troy, they were very courteous and helpful, more than I probably would have been in the situation. In the end, I had an error on my part. I will be staying with this bank just for the customer service. But even without that, high interest savings, refunded ATM fees, paper checks, the ability to buy partial stocks...100’s of times better than a traditional bank.
Thanks again this app.

Main bank

I used this with a few other online banks and after a few months picked this one. Every thing is going good so far. I bought a few things for Christmas and was taken advantage of. this app called me asked me a few questions then send me an email for a refund. They were very nice and professional and the person I spoke to was from the US and walked me through what I needed to do. I do wish you got your pay check a day sooner like other online banks but it’s worth waiting. I would recommend SoFi and card.

SoFi customer service absolutely blows. The app glitches, and they have very low limits for new accounts to start moving any money in. Look elsewhere for now.
