PicMonkey Photo + Video Design Reviews

I have been using Pic Monkey for years upon years. I have them set up for auto pay because I’ve been able to count one of the best photo editing programs out there.
In the past year however, if I want their best editing features, I have to pay extra. Instead of jumping on and seeing new exciting features that I get for being a paid customer. Now, I’m a low end paid customer. Example, if I want to use auto background removal. The option is there, but to use it you have to upgrade or use manual. The manual works almost intentionally bad. That way you’re encouraged to pay and use the auto. Same with “Effects”, if you want to use one of the 4 new ones, you have to pay for them. I bought into it, but I’m learning that they are nothing more of the same effects with slight changes in contrast or brightness. Then slapped with a new name/label ...then I’m charged extra to use it.
It never used to be like this. I’ve always felt like I was a valued customer before and that I was already paying for this great app. Now I feel like I’m being nickeled and dimed if I want a great app. For the first time in years, I’m thinking about shopping around for a new photo editing app. :(

Seems like I’m not the only one with this issue. I used Picmonkey a couple years ago religiously and loved it. Now they’re just money-hungry. I clicked to try a basic membership feature because it gave me the option to do a 7 day trial before committing. So I signed up for the trial. When my image was finished an ad showed to try their watermark feature and I clicked to try it. The watermark feature is apparently a pro membership feature that costs more. When I clicked to try the feature, instead of allowing me to do the trial it charged me the FULL amount for the WHOLE YEAR. I contacted support and Vidal Videra kept sending me the same message. They took screenshots of where I clicked submit etc (creepy and intrusive). Clearly the placement and the way you are INSTANTLY charged for clicking to try a feature that’s advertised - it’s just taking advantage of people. After pushing they offered a refund for all but that amount. Why? I was supposed to receive a TRIAL for 7 days, “cancel anytime” before the 7 days are up - yet you charge me for a full month? I hate businesses that take advantage of people, and PicMonkey has become one of them. Sooo of course I’m filing complaints any and everywhere I can because, why has it become commonplace for businesses to do whatever they want to steal money from people?

If I could rate 0 stars I would. In August of 2018 I was starting a new job and needed to create documents for my job and other projects for my kids school. I have an iPhone, so any Applications I download if there is a charge, i’m billed through subscriptions in ITunes, which I can manage on my phone. I was using Canva and PicMonkey to see which I preferred, but ultimately I stopped the billing because I no longer needed after 1-2 months. I had no issues with Canva and it’s billing. Pic Monkey banked on my lack of knowledge and that I could be billed also thru google, Facebook, etc. and to my knowledge, billed me thru one of those accounts instead. I had no idea until 19 months later, and haven’t even used their app or services at all since Aug 2018. When I turned to them for help, they could see there was no use and gave me only 6 months refund, which was a slap in the face. The right thing to have done would have been to refund it all, minus the month I did use it. But even if they offered half, I would have believed at least I was dealing with a fair company. Only giving 6 months told me they use this tactic purposely to make money, and they are doing it by deceiving their customers, banking that they will not look at the other ways they could be billed for apps and subscriptions.

Although there is a downside. I want to download my pictures I created, but it cost cash. This disappoints me. I work hard on my photos and I cannot even download them. I’m not trying to be mean, but I’m just suggesting to lower the price and ability to use PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign. Maybe you can let people download their photos and creations for free, but if the quality of the photo is 90 or above, it can cost money. They can just make the quality of the photo 89 percent. Picsart uses this method. I think it’s a great idea for pic monkey too, because you can get better reviews and more people will be able to enjoy making creations and editing photos without thinking of paying money to make something of their own, instead of forcing them to pay to keep their own creations. I think this is unfair.
On the other hand, it’s pretty great. There is a lot of ability’s and methods you can use to create, and edit photos. I like it pretty much. Thank you for putting a lot of effort into this. 🙏

I used picmonkey for many years when I was in college. It was easy to navigate, user friendly, and gave access to quality editing tools—I LOVED it. Since this was my go-to a few years ago, I decided to create an account to do some simple editing. However, it had been a nightmare. I cannot edit photos from my phone unless I use PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign , but PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign will not allow me to sign in. It sends me a “magic link” to my email that logs me into my account on the web browser and this creates a circle of never getting into your app account. I have also found that the program runs extremely slow now. I have been trying to edit a photo on my computer for over 1hr now. Total time spent trying to get into PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign (I never did) plus trying to use their now crappy website has wasted over 2 hours of my time. I do not recommend anyone use picmonkey. Sorry to all the old vets that saw this great editing tool go to crap.

So, I’ve been using pic monkey for a few months now and I can say that it’s great. A great alternative to photoshop and is really fun and easy to use. Some problems I have had with PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign is that there is no bucket fill tool. It would be really useful to make drawings and images more colorful. Another problem I have is the cancelling out of drawings or graphics when you accidentally hit cancel, very frustrating, especially when you have been working on something for a very long time and it gets suddenly deleted. Perhaps a save feature that doesn’t add any photos to the device but saves it in a section called “saved projects”? Overall a wonderful app to use to make great images. Also, props to you for making that cutout tool, very handy. Thanks guys, keep up the good work!

I love pic monkey I create my labels there and they come out nice love I can remove the back group is amazing I just downloaded the mobile version and I’m I little disappointed because I can’t do what I do on the laptop I can add my own texture and play around with certain things and I can’t even edit my label that created from my computer over the phone. So I think you guys are great on the laptop version but the phone needs more option I need to be able to edit my work my text because sometime I’m on the run I can have my laptop with me and it would be amazing if I can edit from the phone because new ideas just keep popping up and I don’t want to forget other then that you guys are doing pretty good

I’ve used picmonkey for years. I’ve sworn by it and recommended it to many people because how user-friendly it was & all the wonderful tools. I have the basic plan. Then came the tiered subscriptions and suddenly I no longer have access to the majority of fonts or any of the picmonkey graphics(they took away a lot of the good ones too) because I’m not a pro subscription. And on the computer, picmonkey did away with old picmonkey at the new year, and I HATE the new picmonkey. It runs slow when it actually runs. it crashes regularly and when it saves to the hub, it takes 30 min before it appears in the hub on my phone. It’s gotten so frustrating, I’m seriously considering parting ways picmonkey. You shouldn’t have messed with a good thing, Picmonkey. You may want to rename your program PicTurtle because that’s how slow it is.

I have enjoyed using PicMonkey on the PC and the iOS app, for several years now, as it does exactly what I need it to do creatively. However, for several months now, I have not been able to access my hub folders/saved work on PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign and also haven’t been able to save any of my work in the hubs on PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign either. It is very frustrating and a great inconvenience, as I am not always able to access my laptop. Sometimes I need to be able to do what’s necessary via my app and keep it moving. I’m not sure if anyone else is experiencing the same issues with their hub on PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign , but please fix this issue. I have a Pro Account with PicMonkey and should not be experiencing these type of issues…no one should.

I absolutely love PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign/program. However, I paid for the Pro version and PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign now isn’t working and won’t allow me to even log in. I even ended up creating a new account (which I was initially able to access) and once I logged out and tried logging back in it still didn’t work. I’ve tried to reach out for support, but no one has gotten back to me and there is no phone number to speak with I live person (at least that I can find). I love a program I currently am unable to use and just upgraded. I feel it should be a bit easier to get a response from their help desk and not take several days. I have projects I’m working on. Please fix the ability to access PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign . Thank you!

PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign used to be my go-to for any time I needed to add text to an image. It was so easy! Then, recently, it started to heavily glitch on me. Text kept disappearing, the eraser wasn’t working correctly, duplicate wasn’t working sometimes, it just became all kinds of wrong. Now, my phone does have 191 GB out of 256 used, so that might somehow contribute to it, but my question is why would that affect it? I don’t see any reason why a phone with 66 gigabytes left of storage would have any problems with a text editing app before even saving the image. It was working before, what happened? App is pretty much unusable now. What a shame.

*The curved-text feature was the most buggy, mind you.

I’m a huge fan of PicMonkey, I’ve used it for years and I’ve loved it through all updates and changes. I’m working on designs to be printed and so I thought PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign on my phone/iPad would be perfect for on-the-go touch ups when I don’t have my laptop. However, there doesn’t seem to be a layers tool on PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign version, so I can’t go in a rework things in a pinch like I’d been hoping. I also can’t further edit things I had been working on with my laptop, I can only add things on top. I think those are really essential tools of editing, and the lack really undermines the whole point of PicMonkey for someone who is using them in a professional manner. Quite disappointed.

This one app can do so much! I wish I would have found it a long time ago! Running a business can be so busy, but PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign is so simple, and so many things you can do to help with your company, and so much fun! The stock photos have so many to choose from and excellent pictures for posting on social media to even just saving images to use for our business! It’s Mobil friendly! I give PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign a 5 Star! Love it! Love it! Love it! Thanks, PicMonkey!

PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign overall has been amazing and my photos have turned out 10 times better than they originally were. One thing that made a few of me and some other people I know that have PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign frustrated was that automatically when you updated PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign One thing that made a few of me and some other people I know that have app frustrated was that automatically when you update PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign it automatically does not let you go into the touch up setting unless you pay or login for a free trial I thought that was annoying because before I was allowed to do it for free. And there’s not that many add-ons with update.

I find picmonkey very easy to use, especially for someone who’s just starting out with photo editing and putting together projects. The desktop program is so easy to use and gets the job done fast, however PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign is utterly useless. I can’t do have the things I can do on my laptop with PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign , can’t add more than one photo, no layering option, and can’t ever find projects I’m working on in my hub. When I try to do it with on my iPads or phone browser it won’t let me do anything except redirect me to PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign . If your app can’t keep up with your desktop program why bother having an app then.

You have to get PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign it’s amazing I have no bad comment about it there are a bunch of filters and you can Evan choose from a stock photo or make your own like crop it and add it to another image and add stickers I could go on and on about how much I love PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign but you do have to pay to get a couple things like glow up or a couple of filters but you can still make awesome photos!! So you have to get PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign

Decided to try the trial. Tried making a logo on my computer and it wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be. However I thought I would keep working with it. Decided to download PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign see what I could do that way. Couldn’t even get PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign to long in. It kept saying I needed to connect to the website and sending me the magic link to sign in which then would send me the website and never open PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign or directions to open PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign . I tried several times to figure it out then decided if it was this hard just to sign into PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign the rest probably wouldn’t be much easier. Canceling my trial. Looking for something else.

PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign just keeps getting worse and worse. Now I can no longer use this for free? I can’t access ANY of the FREE features without a notification for a subscription popping up. Even when I choose “no thanks” or close out of the notification, it keeps popping up. And the price for a subscription is completely ridiculous for a MEDIOCRE photo editing app. There are much better out there for cheaper, or free! PicMonkey use to be my favorite, but since I can’t use it anymore without paying, I will NEVER use PicMonkey again.
And yes, I have updated PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign , and I’m still having the issue of not being able to use any part of PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign .

Usually with trials it’s not enough time to fully maneuver PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign or its limited use. THANKFULLY this was the full feature and I was able to toy around with it before taking the plunge. ended up giving 5/5 bc its an easy app to work/figure out on your own, (wasn’t an entire struggle), picture quality was on point, texts options were easy to personalize,and overall forsure user friendly. absolutely love you can edit just about anything.

Hey,I just wanted to say. THAT YOUR APP LOGGED ME OUT!!! I haven’t been able to do everything and then, was the moment I was able to log in. But, I went to my HUB and then it said I had to subscribe to do everything I used to do and I don’t know if I have my invitations and edited photos still. And I get anxiety really badly and I am not an adult but I’m near middle school and my mom got me PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign and she doesn’t know what to do. Good morning/Good afternoon/Good evening/

I am a paying subscriber. loved the old version. The new one is not compatible with my I phone. If the photos show up at all, they look melted & distorted. I want the old version back.

Tech support is non-existent. They take forever to respond, then do not answer the question. I have had photos stuck updating in my hub for four days. They ignore requests for help or give a ridiculous nonsensical excuse that is not even applicable

I love taking photos and before all I did to edit my photos and was change the color, highlights, and shadows on my phone but now since I got PicMonkey, the way my photos look is so amazingly different. Photography is a creative skill of mine and it takes all my photos to THE next level, so for anyone that was to become more advanced in photography, PicMonkey is the way to go.

Paid in app purchase for touch up for $1.99 on my iPhone. It does not transfer to my iPad, I have to purchase it separately. I have contacted PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign developer and they say contact Apple. So you know what came next? Apple says contact PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign developers. If I had known that, I would have purchased from my iPad. When I try to sign in on my iPad, it says email not found.
**edit** Developer response was quick for a solution, works fine now on my iPad, had to delete PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign and reinstall, works great now! Thank you

At first the download seemed to take a long time (probably for good reason, loads of content). Once I opened PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign and began using it, it was easy and fun. I chose a picture from my camera roll to play with! You can save the creation and/or share it with friends! Con: took a minute to download. Pros: the amount of possibilities to play with pictures and to share and save them. I would recommend PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign!

PicMonkey is super cool! It makes all my photos a hundred times better. When I’m older I’ll use it for my instagram. When friends see pictures I edited from PicMonkey they all say “wow that was you!” And I tell them to check out PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign. Now I have many friends who use PicMonkey. But the only thing I dislike is that the touch up feature cost money. Thank you so much for PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign!

I downloaded PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign, to leave this review.
I used picmonkey for years, on the online browser, and paid for the subscription to use all of its sources. I was then made aware that the price of that subscription had gone up. It was outrageous and not one I could neither afford or was willing to shell out. I was very bothered by the idea there was no grandfathering for old subscribers. I’ve never encountered such a thing on contracts or subscriptions alike, not taking affect. So I trashed it. It is a beautiful source of editing tools, but not worth the price it is now. I was sad to see it go. But I won’t be returning unless things change.

Lately PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign is having trouble picking up transparent backgrounds on my images. It used to do it just fine. Now it seems like a 50/50 chance it will work. I even go through the trouble of re-saving the graphics and checking in my photos to make sure the background is still transparent. It is very frustrating when you are making original graphics and using PicMonkey to put them together.

I loved PIC Monkey when I first got it. For awhile now, adding type brings up a window that basically covers the entire photo including the type itself. I cannot see it while I am typing it. I have to toggle around and go back and forth. Also there is no longer a centering line feature so that my type can be centered if I want. What up? Am I missing something?

I have been using PicMonkey for years now just to edit my photos. It wasn't until recently that I have been doing freelance advertisements and graphic logos for social media. PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign is absolutely amazing for that. It's a user friendly version of photoshop with so many cool new options including texture skins and cropping tools. Definitely worth the upgrade.

I have been using PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign recently for Social Medias and I think it works great! I was sad that touch up costs money (That was what I really wanted to use) but I intend to purchase it. I like using it on Mobile rather than in the Web. It seems there is more to do in PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign , even without buying touch up, in all I really like PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign and would recommend it to others!

The mobile app is amazing. There has been upgrades; most appropriate and appreciated.

I would recommend using this site if you are a beginner or a professional. It is for everyone.

I have been using PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign for over 2 years with great results until I purchased a new phone. Now when using PicMonkeyPhotoVideoDesign I can no longer use the presto function… A function that requires you to have an upgraded account, which I do have. I have been waiting for this issue to be dealt with but doesn’t seem to be happening in the more recent updates. If I have to pay money, I expect the entire app to work properly.
