Incompetent people and technology

I was mistakenly told to download this by a customer service rep. To speak to a person is nearly IMPOSSIBLE. The representative that I called to help me troubleshoot says their system shuts down 5 times a day. It took 20 minutes for him to tell me to just call my insurance. His supervisor couldn’t even help. I insisted there was some confusion and I may not be in the right department. He said CVS could not help, call my insurance. These people are horrible, I can not imagine an elderly person dealing with them😢. He laughed and said he couldn’t help and said I live in a “Coronavirus Area” ??? California ???CVSCaremark constantly froze and he said I didn’t exist in the entire CVS system(actually a ten year member). People please be careful with your loved ones. He asked for a lot of personal information only to say to call someone else. CVSCaremark didn’t help and just shut down when it experienced an error, in addition to taking multiple minutes to load. They clearly don’t have the infrastructure or training in this department or app. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND.

15+ years

My family and I have been regular customers here for 15+ years! We have had great consistent service with the pharmacists, Samantha and Terry. We miss them now that Terry retired and Samantha is working somewhere else! Thank goodness you haven’t lost Claudia, the Pharmacy Tech!!! Our family relies on the familiarity of the staff! I am sure we will adapt to all the changes and we look forward to the continued support, assistance and kind professionalism Claudia has given throughout all these years! Soon we will get to know all the new employees and they will get to know us! Thank you for taking such good care of us Senior Citizens and the generations who appreciate the loyalty of regular customers!

Face Recognition to unlock has NEVER worked.

CVSCaremark asks me every time I open it if I want to use Face Recognition to unlock CVSCaremark - I always click Allow - and it never works. The next time I open CVSCaremark - it asks me AGAIN. Irritating.
Also Text message refill alerts should distinguish if the refill will be handled by Local CVS or Mail Order.
Otherwise - CVSCaremark is efficient and I can tell the people working on its design are making improvements to improve user experience and ease of use. Making it easier to see info users need to see. They change the graphic layout to make it easier and better - it is one of the better designed apps around. And if they continue to make improvements from users feedback - it can be an excellent App. Good job keep up the improvements.

Having a difficult time managing meds on this app

Since using CVSCaremark I have had more trouble I cannot refill my meds by scanning it I cannot keep the meds there’s no way I ran out of 90 antidepressant pills in only 45 days there’s no way and yet I’m out and now they didn’t refill it when I tried to refill it the other day I got my other meds but not the important one so anyway it’s not that great of a nap right now there’s a lot of issues to 💪 I sure hope this mail order gets better because I prefer my other mail order company but you gotta go with what your insurance says so not that great I’m giving it a one star I login repetitively and I cannot for the life of me it won’t take the password that I put in it’s just one of those things that anyways hopefully it’ll get better soon very unhappy with CVSCaremark

glitch “ready for refill”

I want to be able to rely on CVSCaremark for re-ordering meds, but It needs a major fix. I am getting “ready for refill” indication within a few days after I received a refill. If I check the block again, I get a message that it’s too early to refill and they will edit to the list to refill later. Then I get further messages when it’s time to refill.

As a result of the above, I cannot rely on the “ready to refill“ indication as indication that I’m really ready for a refill. It is not helpful for me to instantly refill, Ben have it put in a pending status for months of the time. I recommend that you modify CVSCaremark to trigger the notification only when med is actually ready for refill — or, alternatively accept auto-refill authorization as retail pharmacies will.

Nothing but problems

To be fair, most of the problems are the same as the web site.

Tells you items are ready for refill before they are (app is even more misleading than website. And the first page says I have 3 ready for refill (they are not yet eligible) but if you follow the link it shows 4 ready, but they are not. While some prescription that are eligible for refill are not marked as such.

Prescriptions that still had refills, were marked to contact pharmacy but they didn't know what I was talking about.

Prescriptions ”disappear” if not filled and need a new prescription.

Site is always experiencing heavy use. I've seen this notice everytime I have signed on for more than a year. After a while it's not heavy traffic, it's the usual traffic.

The ”your cost” isn't close to what I have paid. No idea what this cost is.

I've enabled face id several times and app keeps asking me to sign in

Still can't set up address or billing info from app. If you have to go to website, why not get with app?

Can't believe this is the same app I have. If I didn't have to use Caremark I wouldn't. They have a terrible website and service.

INCONSISTENT INFO

I get a message one day and another later. I can’t tell if the prescriptions ‘shipped’ are those actually shipped in the mail or ordered by someone - auto ordered or my doctor or your program in error, at the local pharmacy for pick up. But that’s called ‘shipped’ as well. I pick up a prescription and STILL had the status 2 days later as shipping. ??
I have a 30 day supply of Sertraline showing shipped. By who? I didn’t order it. It says $18. I can’t tell if it’s coming in the mail or what.
When I price check a 90 day supply it’s $0.00 so why am I getting a 30 day supply?
Your system is confusing and costs me money!

Prescription cancelled!??

I hadn’t received one of three medications in the mail yet, the most important of the three. Went online to check the status and all in the same page, it tells me that this medication was filled and mailed to me, and that the prescription was canceled and not sent to me. Why would a pharmacy cancel a prescription?? And not even notify me? Not even by email?? First time I’ve used CVS mail service and they already drop the ball in a HUGE way. Express Scripts may charge a little bit more but at least you get your medications without having to jump through hoops and panic that it’s going to run out. I spoke with customer service who was the saving grace because she was so kind and apologetic. Now will have to call my doctor and have them send the script to a local cvs and hope they have it in stock...

Unable to do transfer subscriptions.

So for reordering it seems to work although sometimes the prescriptions I need don’t show up and I have to search history to get them.

My real complaint is that when I tried to contact them on the phone I couldn’t get through their phone tree to talk to someone so I tried to use CVSCaremark . I kept getting messages that I had to fix my phone number and my message. Apparently it couldn’t figure out my phone number without the dashes. Couldn’t use () either. But the best part was the text. It said I had special characters. I rewrote the text ten times making it simpler each time. The answer was that I had used the word I’d instead of I would. Really. It’s a text box.

Still haven’t heard from them.

Something changed

I used the CVS app for 3 years without complaint. The mail refill was so fast that I quit using autofill because it arrive so quickly. If a new Rx was needed, there was never a pause or any delay in contacting my dr and my script being filled.

In the last 6 or 7 months I have yet to get the CVS app to work without calling in, only to find out that the RX has expired and “the dr hasn’t renewed the script.” This is the same dr for the prior 3 years!! Last month I was told I will have to call in any future refills.

I live in a rural Texas town - the nearest CVS store is 1hr away, so mail order is my only option. Thank you for the opportunity to “rate” CVSCaremark - I’m sure you share my concern in finding out why this wonderful app suddenly started having problems.

Sorry for Caremark subscribers

App is not very intuitive. Can’t view dependents ID cards (apparently minors should have email addresses so they can view them themselves), hopefully “family access” will includes them when/if it comes. Also when when checking cost kids Rx 30 day walk in supply is quantity 300 but 90 day mail is quantity 1800 for same strength/dose?
Note this rating is just for CVSCaremark . I would give their walk in and specialty pharmacies a 1 (incorrect fills, changing insurance to a discount plan and not fully reimbursing the difference when caught) and their mail order a 2 (their new to you program with 30 day fills burns through refills even though it costs them more with shipping).

Total Garbage

I am mystified how CVSCaremark could possibly be 4.5 stars ... it is absolute rubbish. I was running low on my medication so I reordered through CVSCaremark . I received an email confirmation that it would be ready by 11am the next day. I waited until 6pm and when I went to the pharmacist they had nothing. When they checked they said the prescription could not be refilled because it was too early. I asked how that could be when I had ran out. I was told it was sent to me by mail. I never asked for it to be sent by mail, CVSCaremark showed it for pick up, and the email confirmation showed for pick up. So I had to pay full price - $50 - for 3 pills while I tried to sort out this clown show. Come on CVS, we are not talking about hailing a ride or ordering a meal, this is people’s medication for crying out loud!

I appreciate your service. Just a bit slow on mail order if using free shipping.

I would say that all parts of your service are quite good. I do find that it takes up to 5 days longer to get medication from your mail order service. I also find that in medications not covered by Medicare you are definitely more expensive than say Walgreen’s who have a discount program for those who sign up for a preferred program. It is possible the mail order length is due to the present virus problems. Thank you otherwise.

Credit or Debit card installation

When trying to put the information in for the cards it doesn’t except none of my cards and they have a part that says put a nickname for the card that always does not accept the information get rid of that feature on CVSCaremark it will make it easier to use. When the information is in at your end can check to see if the cards are good, also we should be able to change the card or delete a card with no problems that can not be done now. I’m a new customer to your service because my company changed plans so if you’re having problems with me your probably having it with them. Please Fix Thank you

No customer care

A significant failure of CVSCaremark, is the inability to contact customer service within CVSCaremark , you instead need to go to the website.

But I can understand why CVSCaremark developers would want to avoid that , as the “Mail Center” does not appear to support a message chain, every interaction appears to be a new case for the customer service staff (despite being “replies”). In addition, the amount of text allowed is quite limited nor does it allow for any sort of attachments nor external emails (such as the email from my insurance carrier approving the early refill).

I can only conclude that they are trying to make the customer experience so bad, as to force me to move my prescriptions back to the retail pharmacies.

Who developed this?

I had trouble logging in. They forgot user and password functions are terrible. You cannot retrieve with common information to other organizations like sending a reset to your email or cell.

Went in CVSCaremark to submit feedback and while typing CVSCaremark crashed twice, and the 3rd time the submit button didn't work. I had to try zooming, scrolling, and finally mashing the area near the button for a minute to submit.

My doctor submitted a prescription over a week ago. It's still not here, so I'm without a maintenance drug i need for my thyroid and it's starting to affect me physically. No email or text notification that my script has shipped... nothing. Called support, they tell me it shipped on the 19th (the day i called), no wait, it shipped on the 13th. Um, I'm not sure but it says it's in Indianapolis right now but doesn't have an anticipated arrival date.

I like the 90 day scripts for the time saver and the "set-it" and forget it, but i could've driven back and forth to Walgreens 12 times in the time I've spent on this and without going over a week without my meds.

I Like This Ap

This ap makes it very easy to refill and renew my prescriptions on time. It is very helpful to receive a text saying a prescription is ready to refill or renew and all I have to do is type “YES” to initiate the refill to be sent to me or renewal request to be sent to my doctor. I love the fact that I don’t need to go to the drug store and wait for a prescription to be filled (unless needed immediately). All of my prescriptions taken regularly are sent to me by mail and are less expensive than buying at a drug store.

Cancelled Prescription

I love the idea of receiving my prescription via mail order...it’s cheaper and quite efficient (I thought)...I quit the auto refill because I would receive my meds way ahead of time... sometimes 30 days before I would even need them. That happened multiple times so I removed the “auto” refill for all my meds. For the meds that I can pick up at Walgreen’s, I do and for the ones that I cannot get a 90-day supply, I order individually via CVS Caremark Mail-order. I wish the timing would get fixed. I don’t mind receiving an order 7 days a head of time, but not 30 days before I need the meds.

Like mail service site can be confusing

I love the mail service. Since I do not drive it is much easier to have it mailed then to ask someone to pick up meds. I find the site a little confusing. There are meds that don’t show that should and vice versa. That usually mean a CS call but they are great. The waits can be a little long at times. It seems when I finally figure it all out they update or what I call screw it up so it takes time to figure out again but that is the way of all these sites.

Easy to use

CVSCaremark is much easier to use than navigating the web browser on my Mac or iPad. I like that you can scan the Rx # for refills because it’s quick. I didn’t see where you can request a new prescription though which I could do on the web browser. I didn’t take a lot of time exploring what it had to offer because I was just on there to refill two expired prescriptions which it did lightning fast. It linked my accounts easily and was no hassle.

Accessibility

This is the provider I am forced to use so I do what I can. There are no CVS pharmacies within reasonable driving distance so I am stuck with the online site. It is difficult to manage the auto refill and auto renew features. It seems like they MAKE it hard so they can send medications that you don’t need any more, at that point, they can FORCE YOU to pay for it since they say they can’t accept returns. I feel 3 stars is very generous. I wouldn’t doubt there customer base would shrink by a lot if employers offered choices of prescription plans. CVS needs better clarity for their web site and phone apps. AND THEY NEED TO ALLOW US TO GO TO A LOCAL PHARMACY FOR MAINTENANCE MEDS WHEN THEY DON’T HAVE A STORE LOCALLY.

Slowest clunky app ever

Forced to use CVS because of my company plan and haven’t had any positive experience in 3 years. I’ve used 3 different locations and always the same antiquated computers. It has taken 3 calls to set up the 90 mail order to change my address. I would much rather pay out of pocket than support this company. Why do you have CVS CAREMARK and also a CVS Pharmacy. The systems don’t talk because I have two completely different profiles all linked to the same drivers licenses. No tech has been able to assist, but when I get locked out of one I can refill on the other. Run to any other store. I find it hard to believe with other companies improving their computer systems CVS isn’t bankrupt.

Garbage

Coding and algorithms are awful. Loading times are awful. You can’t log in with Face ID even tho it says you can. It doesn’t save any login info you have to type it in every single time. While it still meanwhile asks you if you want to use Face ID. Sure. Then it doesn’t work. Period. They ask for feedback about their app and I can’t be the only one who’s submitted complaints. That was 3 months ago. Guess what? Nothing. That’s right. They ask for feedback and do nothing about it. Sorry but 3-4 months? There’s no excuse. This is an absolute trash app by CVS tech team. It is total trash folks. Make no mistake. And don’t be mistaken by the positive reviews. Don’t believe me? Go ahead. Use it. See for yourself.

Thanks!

For last 4 yrs since retirement I was using Humana Rx. They doubled in price plus my meds increased. I love Caremark because I had this when I worked at Becton Dickinson. My experience has always been great. I do wish my headache med wasn’t so costly Rizatriptan, but some meds are just high. Plus I can only get 27 for 9 months. Through Humana I could get 36 tabs. I thought about switching to sumatriptan but I already have atrial fib. Not sure it’d be better to switch.
Thanks for being easy to reach!!! Sandra
