Wishlist for app

I’ve been using ClassTagClassroomEngagement for a couple of weeks and it’s pretty user friendly. I am not tech savvy, so that’s saying a lot. My wishes for making it better: 1) when you first add parents you can add an email, but not the parents names. You have to go back in and click edit to add names, which is weird. 2) there is no way to calendar recurring events. I have to enter each time my kids have PE, which is every Friday. Would be nice to enter the event and set all the upcoming dates at once, then let ClassTagClassroomEngagement send the reminders. 3) my photo wouldn’t load correctly. It loaded sideways even after I tried editing the photo by flipping the original photo around. Would be great to have an edit option on photos directly on ClassTagClassroomEngagement .
Otherwise, I’m getting good feedback from parents that ClassTagClassroomEngagement is good.

Pretty glitchy and full of ads

I’ve been using ClassTagClassroomEngagement for two years with my son’s preschool. The overabundance of ads took some getting used to and isn’t the biggest issue I have this ClassTagClassroomEngagement. The bigger problem is that despite notifications being turned on, I only receive them about half the time. I have both text alerts and push notifications on. My son’s teacher only knows about messages if she navigates to the message folder and opens it. Even then, sometimes new messages aren’t displayed. Other parents agree that ClassTagClassroomEngagement has major issues for a communication app. And now there’s a new problem: while composing a message or announcement the page constantly scrolls back to the top. By the time you scroll back down and find your place it does it again and it’s SO frustrating. I have to write my messages in my notes app and copy + paste to ClassTag now. I’m glad this will be my last year having to use ClassTagClassroomEngagement, honestly. Hopefully these glitches will be fixed for future users.

Reoccurring events, receiving notifications, setting a time to send messages to one person

I’m looking for an app that I can set reoccurring events. For example, being able to set a message every Sunday that Gym will be on Monday and students need to wear tennis shoes, setting a message every Tuesday that Library will be on Wednesday and students need to remember to return their library book.

I do not like receiving messages via email, I often miss important messages because they’re lost in my emails. This is very frustrating! I would rather be able to receive messages via ClassTagClassroomEngagement and have everything in one place.

I want to be able to set a time to send messages to one person. ClassTagClassroomEngagement lets you set a time to send messages to the group, but it does not let you set a time to send messages to one person. For example, I would like to be able to set a time to send a message reminding parents when their child’s snack day is. I would like to be able to do this all at the beginning of the month, but schedule it to go out a few days prior to their child’s snack day.

I really want to like this app

I’m a teacher and I’ve been using ClassTag for about 2 years now. I really liked the website when I first started using it. I like how I can see what parent has received a message and who hasn’t read it yet.
But lately, like this whole school year, there have been SO MANY glitches, not only on the site, but mainly on ClassTagClassroomEngagement. It refreshes every 3 seconds. I can’t write a message or make a post because it keeps refreshing. And I wish there was a way we could add the parent’s phone number on there. We can only add their email. Let us get a confirmation too that the parents signed on and are ready to use ClassTagClassroomEngagement or site. The only way to know is if I go to the directory, but just having that confirmation would definitely make it easier. That’s being picky though.
PLEASE if you’re only going to fix one thing, please fix these glitches. It’s making it impossible to use your app.

Great Communication Tool!

I have used pretty much all the communication apps out there and although I know some of them have added recently some of the same services, I have found ClassTag to be the best at most of them. The biggest draw? It’s FREE; so far they do not have a pay for version that gives you unlimited access...all the access is free. Other apps started charging for unlimited photos and videos and I upload a lot! I also love how I can communicate with my ENL parents effortlessly. All of my announcements and messages are translated for me which means I can communicate with the parents that speak little to no English without the extra step of running it through a translator. Are there ways to improve? Absolutely, but they are very eager to hear new ideas. I am very pleased with how ClassTag has kept the parents involved in our classroom.

Excellent communication tool!

I’ve been teaching for many years in a primarily Latino school district and due to the fact that I do not speak their language, I have been finding it difficult to communicate with my parents. Once in a while when I do sit down with a parent I have to have a translator available. However this is not conveniently available on an every day basis, and often the parents ask their own children to translate what I’m saying! 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️I love the fact that Class tag offers teachers accessibility to their students’ parents and conveniently translates everything so it’s easier for everyone involved. 🙌I’m looking forward to snapping pictures and sending them to parents and not having to waste anymore of my lunch break trying to find someone to translate an email! ❤️❤️Love it!!❤️❤️

The worst class app I’ve used!

I have used quite a few class communication apps as my kids progress through school. Out of all the apps that teachers have chosen, this one is by far the absolute worst! There are so many freaking ads! The posts from the teachers get lost in all the ads. I have missed important information, because it is drowned out by the overwhelming crush of advertisements. ClassTagClassroomEngagement crashes all the time. It is slow and lags terribly. ClassTagClassroomEngagement must be opened and closed multiple times because there is a giant pop-up you can’t dismiss, or the relevant information won’t load (but the ads sure do!). You also get spammed to death by ClassTagClassroomEngagement and it’s partners as an additional bonus. Just what every parent wants, more junk email to wade through. I hate ClassTagClassroomEngagement so much! I am super glad the year is almost over, and I can delete this garbage app! I will also be giving feedback to the teachers at the end of the year about this!

Ads, ads, and more ads!

SEE UPDATE AND RESPONSE TO DEVELOPER AT THE END OF REVIEW.

Developer I get it, you have to pay for the work you do, I really do understand...but the placement of ads is right smack dab in the middle of the page among the “real” classroom information. It is not only confusing and busy, it’s misleading since some of the ads basically says... this company or that company donated to the school ie HP donates to XYZ school (and other brands), which is misleading and dishonest.
The advertisements take up about 20% of the entire page and when centered on the screen is at a minimum of 75% of the screen real estate.

My wife who is a director and the one deciding to use this product and bring it into the organization has decided to pass on this application as a result of the negatives mentioned above.

UPDATE: sadly the developer believes I had no say so in the use of this product and responded directly to me as if I was a parent of a child who’s classroom is already using it and basically gave an “oh well” type of response.

As a company you have the option of listening to potential and current customers and improving, or not...it is entirely up to you!

On a mobile application, screen real estate is a premium, gobbling 20 to 30% of that with confusing, misplaced and unrelated advertising kills the usefulness of ClassTagClassroomEngagement . In this case the juice is simply not worth the squeeze.

Love this app!

I am truly loving they app. It is just what I had been looking for! I am a 5th grade teacher and had been on the hunt for a website or app that would enable me to communicate quickly with parents. I wanted to be able to not only send announcements, but also post photos quickly and communicate with parents individually or small groups. But, most of all, I wanted something that would alert the parents when I posted something new. And ClassTag does just that! I also love the ability to pin something to the top of the feed and I love the look of the feed. The only thing I wish it had was the ability for parents to comment on postings. BUT that feature is coming and I could not be more excited. Thank you for developing this awesome app!

I LOVE THE APP

I love ClassTagClassroomEngagement ! I’m currently going back and fourth between ClassTagClassroomEngagement and another App in my classroom, and I’m leaning more towards Classtag, being my only way of communication with parents. I love that I’m able to communicate with parents quicker and I have more characters to write a message to parents verses the other App that I use. I only have two issues. My first issue is being able to send a Bitmoji through ClassTagClassroomEngagement and my second issue (parents are also complaining about this) is once you tap a title on ClassTagClassroomEngagement you have to hit it multiple times before it takes you to the screen that you’re requesting. Once the issues above are resolved I’ll gladly give ClassTagClassroomEngagement 5 stars!

Amazing Communication Tool

I’ve used other apps to communicate with my students’ parents but none of them had the features ClassTag has. In addition to sending out regular messages about what’s happening in our classroom as an e-newsletter, I also schedule conferences, set up sign-ups for class parties, send and receive private messages from individual and small groups of parents, create a Spanish version of any texts, AND see stats on who’s reading my e-newsletter and who I need to follow up with using a printed version. Parents can choose to receive my updates via ClassTagClassroomEngagement or email, and decide whether they want their information kept private, and can communicate with each other. I absolutely love this!

Love it

I love ClassTag, I love all the services it provides. It makes life easier to do it from ClassTagClassroomEngagement and it’s even better to earn some coins to redeem for different rewards for the classroom use.

That being said, my school required a behavior app this year and so I’m shuffling between dojo and classtag. I wish that classtag offers the behavior side but just have the option of turning it off for those who did not want to use it.
I hate that I’m shuffling between an app that I love for communication with parents and sharing events and things happening in the classroom and an app that I am required to have for the behavior side of things that also has communication aspect but not the other things I love about classtag.

Review

I love ClassTag and so do all my parents! I love that I can see when they have seen a post or message. I love being able to make Activities and have parents sign up for things and I love that I can announce the Activity, as a reminder. ClassTagClassroomEngagement has made my life so much easier. The only thing I don’t like is that I have to scroll through every post to go back and look at something and then once you look at it, it takes you all the way back to the top of the page. So if you have several things you have to go back and look at, it will take you back to the top of the page, every time you look at the post. ClassTag is amazing!

This is a lifesaver!

My son’s classroom uses ClassTag and I regularly use ClassTagClassroomEngagement . I don’t know what I would do without it. There are so many updates, pictures, scheduled events, and things going on at his school that there is no way I could keep up if it wasn’t right here in one single place on my phone. I love that his teacher messages me personally to share his successes along the way. I really feel so much more connected to what’s going on during his day than any year before. ClassTagClassroomEngagement itself is quick, easy to learn, and I can get my questions answered from the ClassTag team right there with the touch of 1 button. I love ClassTag! ❤️❤️

Great way to communicate!

I have been using ClassTag for the past 6 months - this is my first year utilizing it as one of my main ways to communicate with my Kindergarten classroom parents.
I love how user friendly ClassTagClassroomEngagement is! It is easy to navigate through. Whether I am sending individual messages, whole class announcements, or scheduling events like parent/teacher conferences.
I also love that I can earn rewards for my classroom!
If ever I have an issue, the ClassTag team is quite responsive with offering help. I appreciate that it is easy to contact them within ClassTagClassroomEngagement .
My only issues so far is there have a few times I’d get a notification that a parent messaged me but it won’t show up right away/refresh in my messages. My other issue is that I understood when first signing up for it that I could send pictures. I still haven’t figured out how to do that - but that could be my error.
Overall, I love using ClassTag and will continue using it for future school years!

Make the Switch

I had been using Remind101 for several years. Though I enjoyed its user-friendly interface, I felt that it wasn't meeting all my needs as a classroom teacher. I wanted to do more than just send out reminders, and that is where ClassTag is hands down the best app for your classroom. You can still do all the things other parent communication apps do, but with this one you get coins/rewards that you can redeem for free things in your classroom. Also, their parent directory is awesome. The feedback overall has been very positive and I look forward to continuing using it moving forward.

Great Program!

I have been in education for thirty years and ClassTag has been a great tool for me to use to communicate with my students and their families. The fact that it translates my messages to families in their primary language is wonderful! It’s allowed me to have ongoing communication with families that in the past, would have required translators present for the conversations. I have scheduled conferences using the system as well as used it at this current time when covid19 is keeping us from our classrooms. It’s been a priceless tool in allowing me to stay in contact with my class this year!

LOVE but the app is extremely slow

I have always used Remind to communicate with the parents of my students. I REALLY love ClassTag and it’s easy to use. What I like about it is how the teacher can see which parents at involved on ClassTagClassroomEngagement and which parents do not check ClassTagClassroomEngagement .
The ONLY thing I do not like about ClassTag is ClassTagClassroomEngagement is SLOWWWWWWWWWW !!!! Can you please fix this? It’s super frustrating when you are trying to quickly message a parent! Everything on ClassTagClassroomEngagement is slow. Whether it’s checking my inbox or just simply opening ClassTagClassroomEngagement , it’s so slow. I know it’s not my phone because no other app is slow.

LOVE FEATURES but app is soooo GLITCHY!!

Ugh! I LOVE everything classtag has to offer, but I have sooooooooo many issues with ClassTagClassroomEngagement loading - and so do the other teachers and parents that use it with me!! How does this not get fixed?? The whole year it’s been the same! No improvement! It’s so upsetting because I REALLY like the features. But I can’t miss notifications and not know parents are contacting me!

I’m also redirected ALL THE TIME! In the middle of creating things!

Someone needs to look into ClassTagClassroomEngagement and make the improvements and I think this has real potential to be used more. All the issues turn people away from it and the best selling part of ClassTagClassroomEngagement is that it suppose to make our lives easier!!

Absolutely Infuriating

I have had continuous problems with both ClassTagClassroomEngagement and the web version the entire school year. Our team teaches over 100 kids, and we’ve heard the same complaints from parents since September.

ClassTagClassroomEngagement crashes in the middle of messaging (so you lose whatever you were writing). It shows messages as sent - they never go through and disappear from history. ClassTagClassroomEngagement gives error messages regularly and will not load. The bowser version will not load, when it does it is extremely slow. I have gone several school days without being able to communicate with parents.

As a teacher, I would not recommend this to anyone. I have handled more complaints and more frustrated parents this year because of this program and it’s many problems.

So far this is a useful app

I have been using ClassTagClassroomEngagement only for a few weeks. It took some time to get use to it but now I appreciate it. I like that emails come to explain how some features work. I wish there was an option to post photos without being able to save them. We have a strict policy on privacy if other children are on the photos. For this reason, I cannot post class photos because the parents can download them. I like that I can choose how to announce or remind of some information.
The parents like that they can contact each other. However it is hard to tell if they can see each others contact or not. Overall, I m satisfied with ClassTagClassroomEngagement .

Great App

I’ve been using ClassTag for 2 years now. It has helped increase my communication with parents and families! I love the translation part of ClassTagClassroomEngagement ! My students and families who do not speak English can have any message I post or send translated into their preferred language. I earn coins just for communicating with my families and I can use those coins to get things for my classroom.
Any time I have an issue, their customer service always responds quickly and helps fix what is wrong! They take my feedback about ClassTagClassroomEngagement and suggestions on how to make it better!
