This is the most frequently visited app on my iPhone 6s. I love the content; however the app has never felt stable over all the years I have used it. I will often click on a story, the app will freeze up....and then I get “the white screen of death,” a blank white screen. From there I have to close the app and go through a hard re-boot of my phone before I can read stories again. Now, with the newest version, after I read and go back the the main page, the screen jumps around for 3-4 seconds as it re-orients itself back to where I left off. Again, I really love the stories and will continue to use it, but the software has always made for a poor user experience.

You can email the link to a story, but unlike most newspaper apps, the title of the article is NOT automatically placed in the email Subject heading. OK, so you think you can just copy and paste it. But then the title generated in the email has hyphens-placed-between-every-cotton-picking-word-like-this. It seems to be operating off of an MS-DOS file naming convention from the 1980s. Did I mention that they still have not fixed the flagging “feature”? Why not remove it, since it never works?

This app is my second news app, apart from Newsy. It’s simple to use and easy to navigate. The ads aren’t overwhelming, they fit nicely into the flow of things, and I have yet to accidentally tap one. The stories are well written, informative and well read. The push notifications are perfect for quick access with the user in mind. Excellent app for the quick tap reader.

DMN is my go-to news app but I have not been able to open it for over a week (on various WiFi connections and LTE). Before it stopped working altogether it frequently would not load if connected to WiFi. I’m paying for a subscription that I can’t access. Not to mention they haven’t updated the app in over 2 months. Get it together.

Haven’t experienced any of the jumpiness others have complained about (the website is another story.). App is super easy to navigate, it’s like reading the morning paper on my phone, which is exactly what I was hoping it would be. There are a few ads but not anymore than you’d see in a newspaper, and they are not intrusive or disruptive to my experience.
