I started with paper tracking in the hospital the first month. As someone exclusively breast feeding it was important to track feedings and diapers especially to make sure he was eating enough. I switched to the madela app from paper for a couple of weeks and I liked it ok, since I didn't have to keep a paper and pen with me, all I needed was my phone. Then the madela sight and app went down and lost my historical data and I wasn't able to track! My friend with twins recommended this app and I love it. I wish I used it from the start. The large icons are easy to use, especially when feeding in the middle of the night. I don't use it for sleeping since my baby sleeps enough, but I love the pumping tracking, bottles and nursing. The diaper tracker is great and easy to use just click and it's added to the timeline. It's nice to see at a glance how your day compares to others and you can start to see a pattern when creating a schedule for you and baby.
I’ve never reviewed an app before but I wanted to share with other parents how awesome this app is. It has really been essential for my husband and I during our baby’s first several months of life. We initially got it when baby was two days old to track the number and length of feeds and amount of diapers since the doctor kept asking. We upgraded for the immediate synch feature which was well worth it, so my husband and I can immediately see what each other has entered. Three months later we use it daily to track feeds and pumps. The data reporting is robust, which has been great as I noticed a drop in my milk supply and I have been able to track when and why it occurred. You can even export the data to excel! My only suggestion would be to add a report for number of pumps a day, that would be really helpful for me. Overall this app is great and we will likely continue to use for as long as I am pumping/breastfeeding.
This app has done wonders for helping me figure out baby's schedule and this plan our day better. As a SAHM, I like to make the most of my time and was spending too much time just playing it all by ear. Many times that's still unavoidable with a little one, but more often than not I can tell almost down to the minute when she's going to x,y,z. Love keeping up with time spent pumping, nursing, bottles, # of oz, etc without having to think. Added bonus is all the charts and stats!! But I'm a nerd sometimes and love that stuff! The only thing I'd like to see is a quick add to record their firsts or when something in particular happens - umbilical cord falling off, first smile, laugh, etc. You can write it in the journal or record the time length of doing something (rolling over) but I want to select from a drop down that baby rolled over for the first time, same with all the other milestones. This app seems to have it all except this.
As a new, first time mother I was overwhelmed with the full time job of keeping my adorable but very demanding small human alive. The constant feedings, diaper changes and pumping coupled with losing track of time and not knowing what day it is gets extremely overwhelming. This app has been so helpful to help me keep track and refer to when the last feed/pump was or how long it has been since a diaper change or how long it has been since he was given a bath/his nails were cut. This app has been helpful for my husband and I to communicate to each other that he gave a bottle at a certain time or I changed a poopy diaper so that we don’t over lap and we can cover all of our bases. We did pay for the app in order to be able to sync our apps any time we want to, because every 6 hours doesn’t cut it with multiple caregivers.
This app was recommended to me by a co-worker who had her daughter a few weeks prior to my son being born. She raved about it and now I know why! My son has had trouble breastfeeding, so we're just doing pumping and feeding breastmilk through a bottle and this has been really helpful with keeping track of how much I pump and how much he is eating. Also, it tracks diaper changes, meds, baths, when he might be gassy, and more. It's nice to just log the info quickly after or during a pumping session and then I can pull it up just as quickly to see when it should be time for me to pump again. It was also helpful to track any info that the pediatrician/lactation consultant might need from us, so they had he info right on my phone to look at during our appointments. I highly recommend this app!
