I had signed up for a free trial of Yahoo Finance to investigate if it was a platform to consider for monitoring stocks. After the free trial was up, I attempted to cancel my membership. The first month passed and I got a notification saying I was billed the $35 monthly charge. I double checked to confirm that I had canceled my membership, which I had. Then I wrote it off thinking I must have missed the deadline by a day or two. Then the next month's bill came in and I knew I didn't have any membership at this point in time. I called the customer service and they confirmed at least 1 of the accounts didn't have a membership. Then, there was a second account I did not recognize with an email and phone recover that were not mine. I requested that ANY membership charge on my account be stopped. They said I couldn't do this unless I verified the account. This was not possible as the account clearly was not longer owned by me. Most likely someone had hacked it. I offered to provide my credit card details to cancel any subscription tied to the card, but they wouldn't let me do it.

I haven't found a fix yet as my bank told me to work it out with the business.

Yahoo is the one taking my money. You think it would be easy enough to cancel the subscription. I don't even want my money back, I just want them to stop charging the card.

For the love of god fix this. How would you feel losing $35 a month for absolutely nothing?

I never signed up to get Yahoo Finance Plus subscription for $31.50 a month. I saw I was charged $5.00 a month for Yahoo Mail Plus, but I never authorized using my USAA Credit Card ending in 5175 for Yahoo Finance Plus. I paid for it on 15 March 2022 for $31.50 and when I saw it again my USAA website in Pending status on 15 April 2022 I told USAA credit card division that I never authorized a subscription for Yahoo Finance Plus. Please cancel my subscription to Yahoo Finance Plus starting yesterday (15 April). Email me back at [email protected] or my home email at [email protected] that you cancelled my subscription to Yahoo Finance Plus. Since the 15 April charge was in Pending with USAA I told them I disputed the charge and to refund the $31.50 to my credit card ending in 5175 for $31.50. I only want Yahoo mail plus for $5.00. Thank you for your cooperation.

    Sincerely Yours,

I had the same problem as Jon Small

I wished to cancel my subscription to Yahoo finance. I spent a lot of time on the phone with service reps who I could barely understand only to find that there are too many hurdles to cancellation. Even though my name matched my email address and both matched my credit card the yahoo rep refused to cancel unless I could answer their trick questions. They asked a number of questions which it was impossible for me to answer. One example was they asked how much my subscription cost before taxes, the credit card shows amount including taxes - there is no break down. Of course the Pinocchio agent script said the questions to "prove" identity was to "protect the customer" from a fraudulent cancellation- as if!
My options seem to be to pay what ever yahoo wants to charge for the rest of my life or to cancel the credit card that the subscription is billed to.

Have a Problem with Yahoo Finance? Report Issue

Leave a comment:

Why should I report an Issue with Yahoo Finance?

  1. Pulling issues faced by users like you is a good way to draw attention of Yahoo Finance to your problem using the strength of crowds.
  2. We have developed a system that will try to get in touch with a company once an issue is reported and with lots of issues reported, companies will definitely listen.
  3. Importantly, customers can learn from other customers in case the issue is a common problem that has been solved before.
  4. If you are a Yahoo Finance customer and are running into a problem, Justuseapp might not be the fastest and most effective way for you to solve the problem but at least you can warn others off using Yahoo Finance.

Graph feature to view the price cycles of a given stock

I was enjoying to look at the stock performance graph that shows how the price changed Day to Day by sweeping my finger from past dates to present and watching the stock value change. This provides us the minimum to maximum values in a given period. But this feature disappeared and I cannot track the changes in values. Please reinstate that feature. That feature is invoked when I hold my iPhone at 90 degrees where the long sides are in the horizontal direction. That would be a big help to enjoy the viewing of a stock performance for a given period in a graph form. Thanks

    It’s always all here

Yahoo Finance is always the first go to provider of financial news. Not Google Finance, not CNBC or any other provider. I’ve been in this business almost 50 years, Yahoo Finance is reliable and easily available. I know for a fact several investment professionals use Yahoo Finance. Jimmy Kramer on Mad Money has used it for years. I have no financial interest in Yahoo Finance. I am not paid to write this review. Yahoo Finance is kinda like Joe Friday on Dragnet always said, “Just the facts mam, just the facts.” I use Yahoo Finance several times a week for financial facts on companies I’m considering going long or short.

    Stocks for kids

I’m not sure if it’s an oversight on my behave or haven’t found the way to do it . I would like to have an option of placing my watchlist of stocks in Alphabetical order or have the stock in a order of my choice energy, gold oil , automotive stocks ect. followed by the date I started Monitoring the stock. Also I like to mention I often spend time with my kids and grandkids trying to inspire them in learning the market as we know the Market has a host of subjects that they study in school math , Economics and so on. So add an option were they can have some play money ‘’family fun’’

    Analyst

I had fallen in love with your app up until recently. In the past I was able to look at analysts thought of buying versus selling a stock showing a rating from 1 to 5 where one was a very strong by to five which is a strong sell. Starting today I cannot see that. Very very disappointed, without that the app just seems to be just another app not the one that used to be so special. It was so important that if I would see it again I would be giving it five stars not three. Hope you will go back to what you used to share.

Please bring back ‘business description’ section of company profile

Recently, I noticed the ‘business description’ section is no longer provided in the ‘company profile’ section in the yahoo finance app. What made the yahoo finance app so great is that I can instantly look up a stock price AND business description of a company. A stock price and the accompanying statistics available in the app are useless if I can’t quickly read a description of the company to figure out what the company does. Please bring back the business description. Thanks!
