this app is here! The first app for *real* relationships. And we’re building it for you and your loved ones, friends and colleagues. A completely new category. A simple, safe, and private place to connect and share what matters in your life, with the people who matter to you. In complete privacy. Unlike legacy social networks, this app believes privacy is a fundamental human right. We use your phone number to connect you with friends and family. Beyond that, we *never* collect, store or use any personal information. Which means we *never* sell your personal information. Because we *never* have it. There are no brands, ads or influencers clogging your feed. Just real people you really care about. Your chats are end-to-end encrypted. No one outside of your chats can read them, not even this app. this app was founded by two ex-WhatsApp folks, who helped build WhatsApp and turn it into one of the most beloved apps in the world. We're excited to hear from you! If you have feedback or questions, please email us at: [email protected] app.com Or follow us on Twitter: http://twitter.com/this app @this app

Doesn’t provide an iPad formatted version. Not acceptable for what they are trying to be. Hard pass.

The first step is to upload all your contacts. The second step is assuming all your contacts are friends. Step one is a gross invasion of privacy, on the level of what Facebook does. Nobody in my contact book is giving permission to this app to mine their info. Step two is dangerous. I have several contacts that stay in my phone so I know not to answer their calls. I have other contacts that are no longer friends. I have work contacts that shouldn’t be able to see all my posts. Until this app removes the requirement to upload all contacts and go through them one by one to block them, it’s just as gross as the competition.
