Heartline is a virtual research study exploring how everyday technology like the iPhone and Apple Watch can enable earlier detection of atrial fibrillation (AFib), a leading cause of stroke. People 65+ with and without an existing AFib diagnosis may be eligible. Why should I join the Heartline Study? You’ll gain valuable insights into heart health as you contribute to important research, all from the comfort of home in just 5-30 min a week. By participating you can: • Live a heart healthy life: Learn about heart health and participate in activities that may help improve your sleep, fitness, and overall wellness. • Earn rewards: Complete easy and fun activities to earn rewards worth $150 or more, depending on your study group. • Advance research: Advance heart health research for yourself and future generations. This app integrates with the Apple Health app. Eligibility Requirements*: • U.S. Residents Ages 65+ • Own an iPhone 6s or later, with iOS 12.2 or later • Have Medicare coverage *These are the key participation requirements; other eligibility participation requirements will apply. Check your eligibility in the Heartline app. What technology do I need to participate? • You must own or purchase an iPhone 6s or later, with iOS 12.2 or later After enrolling, you may be asked to get an Apple Watch Series 6. If asked, you can receive one on loan, at no cost, for the duration of your enrollment in the study. Or you can choose to purchase an Apple Watch at a study-specific price and keep it after the study. Note: For current Apple Watch owners: We’re sorry, but the study group for people who already own an Apple Watch is full and not accepting new participants. Ready to get started? To see if you qualify to participate in the Heartline Study, download the app that could help shape the future of healthcare.
The app downloaded quickly and the installation process went smoothly. The acceptance statement was long but I did get an email once registered that contained a pdf of the acceptance agreement. Having Medicare is a requirement. The app appears to present a lot of information on the heart and cardiac issues. You get points for reading the material which can be cashed in as they accrue. There are apparently other ways to accumulate points. If you qualify you get a loaner Apple 5 watch for free or you can buy one at a reduced cost of $49...a great price. Sounds like it will be an interesting study that hopefully will lead to helping people with cardiac issues.
Apparently you can’t have supplemental insurance. I’m on a waiting list. For those experiencing problems delete app on your phone then reinstall it. You will be able to answer a few questions to see if you’re eligible. I called support because I was stuck in a loop. Shut down watch. Shut down phone. Restarted both then deleted iPhone app and reinstalled. Good luck Boomers 😁
Giving only 4* because my Advantage Plan is not listed as a participant. I was excited about this program because I had a TIA 2 years ago and hopeful that this study would help warn me of either another one or a full blown stroke. I did sign up on the wait list so hopefully my provider will soon be a participant.
App on iwatch won’t even open!!?!
