I remember when this app use to be ... not so useful (to be polite), so I stopped using using it - it was like an empty shell of an app. But after a few years break (I’ve been a long term squarespace customer), I tentatively re-downloaded it and have been so impressed by how it’s evolved and what I can do inside! The app is really well designed and easy to use. Considering its working on a small screen, it also doesn’t feel like a I’m going to make a mistake and accidentally bump a button that publishes it live when I’m. It ready. So it feels ‘safe’ to use over the desktop editing. Thanks team!
This app is super useful for running my blog - I often find myself opening my laptop to make small scheduling changes for posts, and edit typos out. This makes it easier to do small things like that on the go. However, it does take quite a few clicks to get to scheduling posts and stuff like that - if there was a way to make that process a little easier, and maybe customize what appears on the homepage (shortcuts for frequently accessed features?) that would be extremely helpful. Overall, really awesome app though!
Good thing I decided to update before writing this review! I’ve been pretty embarrassed while sitting at restaurants trying to edit my site with my iPad, turning my head sideways to look at the screen while trying to add blog posts. I’m not sure what took so long to do this...and like other users, I’ve switched almost entirely to my iPad and rarely carry my laptop, so this was a much needed update. Thank you! I still haven’t given it a serious run-through, but the fact that it’s here makes me happy.
Works great for updating customer sites on the fly!!! Intuitive and effective. Overall very happy with app, it’s an answer to a very big pain point. This app will improve doing business on the go. 2 pieces of feedback: -Switching between different websites was not obvious. (It’s under the “account” tab for anyone who can’t find it). Would love to see the ability to quickly switch sites from the “home” tab. -On certain templates, navigation elements did not function properly/were not able to be edited through the app. Hopefully this will be addressed in future updates. Overall, strong 5 stars! This is a true game changer. With the launch of this app I can take a customer phone call, quickly make an edit from my phone, and immediately satisfy my customer. No need to wait for a laptop/WiFi. Something web developers have needed for years. Thank you!
I travel full-time, and the only reason that I’ve kept my Mac is that I couldn’t edit my Squarespace website on iOS. My Mac died last week, and I found this app while doing a hail-Mary search of the App Store in hopes of finding a way to move exclusively to iOS. And then I found THIS. I expected a poor implementation that involved pick lists and being forced to drill down for features, but instead, the interface mostly works like the website. I drag blocks onto a blank page, just as with the website. Accessing photos is a bit more complicated, but that’s iOS’s fault, not Squarespace’s. I don’t see an option to add different types of pages, such as a blog, and I hope that this functionality is coming soon. I suppose as a kludge I can duplicate my existing blog page to add another blog to my site, but that doesn’t help someone with an existing site who deleted a template’s blog page and wants to add it back. Your app has inspired me to write my first review. Thank you, and I look forward to an iPad app.
