Drivewise problems

Very recently I noticed my app had an “action needed” banner next to Drivewise on the mobile app. I opened it, went through the steps to reactivate Drivewise and went about my business, driving multiple times a day thinking I was active on Drivewise. Silly me! I have to open Allstate and go through the reactivation process EVERY SINGLE TIME I get in my car in order to log my trips and qualify for a very small refund. If I close out of Allstate , it also deactivates my Drivewise. If I let it run in the background to slow my phone down, it works fine but makes me super unhappy when I can hear my phone running but no call shows up on my screen. If I leave it up in background and open enough apps after this app, my phone will log me out of Allstate and I will have to sign in again, only to find the “action needed” banner again. Considering doing some insurance shopping. My last safe driving refund did not even cover paying myself minimum wage for ONE HOUR, a small fraction of the time I have put into reactivation on Allstate. I feel like I am overpaying for my insurance to stay with a reputable company, you might consider putting some time and effort into fixing Allstate and making your customers happy! No one has time to sit in their driveway before every single trip and go through the steps to reactivate. Today’s world thrives on convenience!

App needs work

I don’t usually review apps, I just delete them if I don’t like them. But for Allstate, I need it to be on my phone for easy access to my car insurance. I don’t like having to go to the website to pull up my info. There’s very little you can actually do on Allstate vs the website. Allstate seems like it’s a beta if I’m being honest. Seconds ago, I was double checking my app to ensure everything is paid and I’m good to go. I accidentally clicked on the “coverage” tab and it said I didn’t have a policy, to call this number.. I had a mini heart attack and checked the actual website, everything is in order on the website but not Allstate . It’s completely up to date, I double checked that. Allstate could use some work in my opinion. Half the time Allstate looks like everything’s smashed together, specially the tabs at the bottom. I don’t haves small device either, my iPhone 11 Pro Max has a decently large screen. Maybe I’m just use to my geico app (I recently switched over to this app from geico ) I never had to check the website but the this app app shouldn’t look like a beta tester app. Geicos app was smooth, and it looked nice. Everything was easy to use. Never had any issues with that app. All in all, I don’t like the look or “feel” of this this app app.

WOULD GIVE ALLSTATE ZERO STARS IF I COULD

Let me start by saying I’ve been with this app for 47 years....ever since I moved out of my parents house to attend college I had auto coverage through them. I’ve had both auto and home insurance with them since my first home purchase in 1987. So, think about how many thousands of dollars I’ve paid this app in that time period. The tile roof on my current home was inspected by this app in 2016 before they would insure the home. Per this app the roof was replaced 10 years ago and was in excellent shape. Then the AZ monsoon season came in July of 2018 and blew almost every tile out of alignment and broke more than a few. Five roofing contractors looked at the roof and each one said the roof was in need of full replacement due to the damage. this app disagreed. They wanted to “repair” the tile roof with “similar” clay tiles that did not match the San Valle clay tile because it hasn’t been made in many years. this app’s first estimate to repair the roof was $700 which doesn’t even cover my deductible. After months of wrangling, (8 months) my roofing contractor was able to get the repair amount up to $14,000 which was just over half what the roof actually cost us. Long story short, I’m no longer with this app. They have absolutely no clue what customer service or customer loyalty is all about. 47 years of customer loyalty meant nothing to them....I was just a very expensive premium to them.

Change of terms of use

I used Allstate for years. It was very good. Until a few months ago this app decided that to use Allstate I am forced to accept Drivewise. I have been a customer of this app and one agency since 1978. That is 42 years. My home insurance has also been through the same agency. I am told that I have the cheapest rates available so basically I don’t need Drivewise. If I am a passenger in an automobile and the driver doesn’t obey speed limits or excelerates to fast and breaks at the last moment it will be logged against my driving. I also signed up for emergency road services. this app discontinued Allstate and I have to call. The first time I tried to use it Allstate showed that my policy was not active due to lack of payment which was wrong. The second time my wife needed he car towed to a service department. After an hour she the towing company and they received the call but did not dispatch it. It was another hour before the tow truck arrived. What if my wife had been on the side of an interstate for 2 hours. Last year this app sent me a link to a company to update the drivers of my vehicle. The site had an invalid security certificate. I refused to use the site. My agent had to my information. In my opinion this app is no longer the good hands people. I am in the process of finding another company after 42 years.

Drivewise Disappointment

I’ve been using the this app app for some time now and has been very convenient up to this point for managing payments and proof of insurance. Since the Drivewise program has been changed over to Allstate only, my enthusiasm about staying enrolled in Drivewise has drastically changed. My wife and regularly ride in the same vehicle frequently drive the others vehicle. The program double logs the trips as we are both driving (racking up the miles). My wife’s patiences for going into Allstate , then Drivewise, then find the trip(s) and remove them is non existent (not convenient) so we rack up unnecessary trips. With that being said, I work for a fire department and going to work and removing trips is a nightmare. I’ll have anywhere from 30-50 trips to remove due to driving the engine to and from calls. this app has always been great to us, and I appreciate their willingness to provide modern technology to their customers, but the Drivewise program/app needs some serious work. I’ve always thought it is important to help bring a solution to a problem when when bringing issues forward, but technology and development of an app is way out of my league. Hopefully this is helpful this app when your looking at making improvements.

Latest update

Just a quick review to say the latest update is really slow and laggy on my iPhone XS Max. Everything takes so long to load I lost patience with waiting and tried to go back. However the Hold Tight dialog boxes don't allow you to touch the page behind to dismiss it so you're sitting there for an eternity waiting for it to finish loading in the page. And then it crashes, every time. On loading Allstate takes an eternity to load. Also what seems to be taking its time to load are two big ticket items - Claims, and My Bill. My bill is paid for six months, why would I want to see that every time I load the screen - twice a year at most when it is due is enough. And my claims. I have no outstanding claims, again why do I want to see that page? The page I do want to see - Drivewise, doesn't load. Allstate just crashes. No doubt there are options to turn off the Claims and Billing items but I just don't have all day to wait. The screen is unresponsive and doesn't react when I try to scroll; when it does react it stutters and jumps around.

I will leave Allstate installed for the Drivewise discount but I won't be opening it again.

Lots of potential, could use some improvement

I downloaded Allstate so that I could participate in the this app drive wise program. And Allstate enables you to view your insurance ID cards, request roadside assistance and several other things. But the main reason I have Allstate is for trying to reduce my insurance premium based on my safe driving. I’ve been participating in Allstate for just 3 days now and I’ve already had to dispute/remove 2 different “extreme braking events”. When I view the GPS route of the trip to review the “extreme braking event” I’ve noticed that the route has me zigzagging off the road randomly. So of course that’s going to trigger an extreme braking event! I don’t know if the GPS data tracking is an issue with Allstate or with the iPhone XS GPS. But either way, Allstate should have a feature that recognizes anomalies in the GPS data and push a notification or pop up that asks you “is this trip summary accurate?” Instead of just accusing you of being an erratic driver and reducing your chance for a discount. So for now, you have to review all of your trip summaries and dispute/remove the trips with inaccurate GPS data. Sort of annoying.

Doesn’t save my finger print, and Logs me out everytime

I find Allstate very frustrating and find myself in a bad mood everytime I use it. I had a keep me logged in option, that didn’t work and constantly would log me out. I’d forget my password because it’s one of these that requires and upper case, lower case, number, and special character...they also lock your account after 6 tries, so I get to call all state to reset it for me every time I use it, and by that point I’m already unhappy. I switched to the finger print login which works great with several of my other apps, but this stupid app doesn’t save my finger print and still asks me to enter a password each time...which puts me back in the try 6 times, lock my account, Call all state cycle of frustration, Once I’m in the experience isn’t much better...I spent 20 minutes trying to figure how to setup autopay with a different credit card before finally having to call customer service to do it....and that’s 20 minutes AFTER spending 15 minutes trying to login because Allstate logs me out and doesn’t take my finger print...overall I dislike Allstate, and the stupid rules for passwords and account locks.

Drivewise Provides Inaccurate Data

I have been using Allstate for almost a year. Drivewise continuously show me speeding on the Florida Turnpike over 80 miles per hour when I am always in cruise control at 65 mph - the posted speed limit. It also show me hard braking on a traffic free Turnpike. These issues have been reported continuously to their tech dept with no resolution in sight. I communicate my dissatisfaction to tech support and they agree that I was not hard braking or speeding, but they do not know the cause. I don’t trust Drivewise at all! In fact I hate it because of all the errors! Update - I. continue to have major problems with Drivewise showing I was speeding on a certain portion of the Florida Turnpike along with hard braking in both north and south lanes. Additionally, it erroneously record hard braking on artery streets that have no traffic. The updated APP (V15.9.2) did not correct this continuing erroneous reporting of braking and speeding. I am 76 years old and honestly cannot remember the last time I drove over 70 mph, let alone 80 mph. Allstate is awful, especially when I depend upon it providing accurate information about my driving habits in order to receive discounts and cash rewards!

Fix phone use while driving feature

Before the phone use while driving feature came out for Drivewise, I would have given Allstate 5 stars. However, when I stop my car at my destination and use my phone, it is tracking that as using my phone while driving. For example, I have been giving a coworker rides to work everyday for the last 2 weeks. When I would pull up and park in her carport, I would send her a text saying I was there. When checking the Drivewise section in Allstate later, it showed I used my phone while driving (although the phone use was tracked at my parking location). Because of this, I have had to remove many trips due to “trip data not being accurate,” which is losing me safe driving points. I do not use my phone while driving, so it is frustrating that this new feature is saying that I use my phone during my trips. Now I’m not even sure how long I have to wait before stopping before I can touch my phone without having to remove the whole trip data due to this error. Please fix. The rest of Allstate is great.

Drivewise Fail

Drivewise requires an always on location services. this app support claims this is to make the experience better for me. How is it better to drain my phones battery by using gps always and to assume anytime I’m moving over 20 mph that I’m driving (I could be a passenger, or on a bus)? Instead a GOOD experience would be to have me enable drivewise tracking when I start a trip, and to allow “only when using” gps tracking instead of collecting unnecessary data on me (maybe this app is selling it like Facebook just got caught? Can’t know for sure since they reserve the right to change the TOS at will...)

Also, there’s no way to know if it’s actually working...no immediate feedback that it successfully tracked your trip. Maybe if I was given the option to start and stop my trips manually, it could then do some calculations and give feedback.

Dear developers: how about you try and model your service like the countless fitness trackers out there, such as MapMyRun, strava, etc and track the actual trips when I tell you I’m driving and give IMMEDIATE feedback that the trips been recorded; because I promise you you’re not clever enough to know if it’s actually me behind the wheel...

Apps like this are the reason I still keep paper records.

Two issues: Last week I hit a pothole and slowly developed a flat tire. I got to safety and attempted to use my app to acquire roadside assistance. I check for updates frequently, and there was no notification telling me my this app app needed attention... until I tried to use it. I received a message saying my version was no longer supported and required updating. Except I was on a remote road and Allstate would not update. I couldn’t even open it to get the information I would need if I called for roadside assistance.
I was on my way to work so time was of the essence. After a few minutes of fiddling with the useless app I changed my own tire in (literally!) freezing rain in the pitch black.
What is the purpose of relying on something so critical if it fails you when most needed? Very disappointed.
Second issue: my ex husbands information remains on my account... not in real life, just on Allstate . Other incorrect information includes dates premiums are due.
Apps like this are the reason I still keep paper records.

Going from bad to worse

Allstate used to be good and useful. Some major changes were made to make it look like an improvement, don’t be fooled by said changes. It’s just a visual. Allstate is set up in my phone to recognize my face. It does. It greets me by my name but it gives me no access until I manually type my password. What’s the purpose of face recognition then? It’s annoyingly pushing me to add “Drive Wise” to my policy. I don’t want that as it is based on movement and not on who’s driving. Allstate can’t tell if I’m a passenger or the driver. And it’s supposed to report my driving habits even when I’m not behind the wheel. Major flaw. I wish there was an easier way to use this app which, to me, is THE BEST insurance company there is. Allstate does NOT reflect their level of excellence. Sad...

UPDATE: 8/7/21. It has not gotten better. Only worse. It takes time to update info. Recently moved and app would NOT update the proper info. Plus, the whole need to log-in with a password instead of face recognition continues. Ughhh… this app is too good of a company for such a lousy app.

Back with Don Rose at Allstate

It’s good to be back, Don had always helped me when I was with him a few years ago but I left for cheaper insurance and I got not so good customer service especially with claims! Both companies all they cared about was saving money at my expense but with Don Rose I got excellent claims service and he involved himself every time,he would walk me through the claims service to make sure it was handled properly! And always what was best for me! And Allstate is great I can do everything from it and not bother my agent and the office staff unless I have a question I need answered! Now that I’m back I’m not going anywhere! this app set me up with the best coverage I needed for a great price! Switch to this app and choose the gold package you will love it! By the way I even got a letter when my coverage started stating my policy decreased by 55 dollars how about that!!!! Get smart Get Gold!!!

Not accurate data

I have had Allstate for over 3 years. Over the last three years I have had to review the data regularly due to it being inaccurate. It registers that I am using my phone when the Apple music is playing through the radio by Bluetooth, it registers that I am using my phone when it is used through Bluetooth at the end of my trip once I have arrived at my destination and I am fully stopped and parked; it also registers hard breaking when I am on my boat- which if I had braked hard everyone in the boat would have flown out!! When I am riding in the car with another person and I am using my phone it records it as my use of phone while driving. Not only does it record inaccuracies but now I can’t remove the inaccurate information from the drive lists. This is going to cause me to loose any discounts I may be due, because Allstate is not accurately recording the drive information and can’t be corrected. This is soooo frustrating, and I feel like I don’t have any other options or any recourse. I’m at the mercy of Allstate and what it allows whether it’s accurate or not.

A way to raise your insurance

I have been with this app for 4 years now. When they had the module that plugged into your car under the steering I would get a discount every month for my driving. Then they went to Allstate . My insurance went up because of my driving. My driving habits never changed But they failed to tell me that if you’re not driving you have to change it to passenger. So I figured out that my insurance raised because of my passenger trips!! I called my agents office and they said “ oh yeah, you need to change it if you’re not driving “. Well, thanks for not letting me know. Okay, now my app is not recording my driving. They said delete Allstate then reinstall it. I did that and it worked for 2 trips now it’s not working again!!!! Allstate is JUNK and they’re using it to raise your rates! I called again to report that it’s not working and they said that I have to call the technical help line. I call and no one answers my call!!! Not only that but I can’t even log into Allstate !!! I’m really thinking about changing insurance companies! I’m not happy at all with having no support!!

App was working great til last update

App doesn’t load. Once it loads some features are there and some aren’t. I’ll be in the middle of something and it just shuts down. On the “my trips” I don’t have any hard braking or over 80mp but On the graph it shows 0 miles over 80 but at the bottom of the screen it’s shows 18.9 over 80mph. Husband has the same issues in his app. Won’t let him or I delete trips that we weren’t driving. My daughters app just totally shut down and she had to re setup like she was a new customer. Our discount went from 10% to 5% over night and we hadn’t driven anywhere over night. Checked Allstate for my trips before I went to bed and there was no bad driving items. Woke up the next day and that’s when the speeding showed up and all the hard breakings. Now unless some stole our phones while we were sleeping and took each one on different crazy driving trips there’s no way possible for this to happen. Kind of ticked we’d are approaching our 6 months and our discount dropped drastically

THE WORST!!

They made me wait more then 8 hours for a service that never came…. At 12pm my car died and I requested a tow service through Allstate , I was waiting for more then 3 hours no update, I call service support, they said it that my information didn’t go through ON Allstate !!! And they said that requesting service through Allstate is the fastest…. So I did the tow service through the phone, they told me that it’s gonna it’s way, I got an update that the tow truck is near by, 3 hours later nothing….. I called them back, they told me the same thing, more then 2 hours later, nothing…. I call them told them that I’ve been waiting for 8 hours…. I gave up on waiting and told them to cancel my request. Keep in mind I called them back from time to time, they just keep asking the same questions, information and say the same thing “we will send a rescue as soon as possible”. But that’s ridiculous….. I even told them I waited for more then 8 hours and they still didn’t do anything about it, I still would’ve have to wait more in 2 hours if I wanted another rescue…

Absolutely terrible. Unreliable, unable to use 98% of the time

I joined this app a few months ago and switched all my insurance over to them. I got the pay as you use car insurance option as due to the pandemic I don’t drive so it made sense. From the day I joined it had been drama trying to use Allstate. The first week or so of having it I was successful at simply opening the thing on maybe 2 occasions and once open it seems to work fine. However 99% of the time it simply fails to open. No error message. Nothing. Just fails to open. I click on it, it looks like it’s going to open as it tries to load then it just disappears. It. Never. Opens. I have no idea what’s going on with my account. As I found the device that monitors my mileage and driving activity on the floor of my car recently I am concerned that it had not been working for a while (I rarely use my car these days) so am worried about how that will affect my premium so have been trying to check to see how many days it’s been out and what that means for my payments but as mentioned THIS STUPID APP NEVER WORKS.

Subpar Experience so far…

I was excited when I discovered the “benefits” of Allstate , given this app’s reputation with rewarding good driving. When I downloaded Allstate , I set everything up with Drivewise feature and was ready to gain points. I drive a lot due to my job so I figured this points system was perfect for me…and for a short while it was……then - even though my settings were adjust to ALWAYS allow Allstate access to my location (obvious), I was missing trips!! Ever since then, I’ve had to make sure I was actively logged in before pulling off anywhere in order for Allstate to count my trips. This is crazy to me, because if that’s the case, why does Allstate need to ALWAYS have access to my location!? Maybe someone can help me out with that part…on top of that, Allstate itself seems a bit jumbled and I feel it could be more user friendly. My last insurance’s app was virtually fool-proof - a child could navigate through it with no problem…if it wasn’t for the lower insurance rate……well…………

Last update even worse

My iPhone 11 is running iOS 13.3, the latest update. I switched to this app because of the Drivewise feature. I have been hoping for a fix to the location services. The issue is it requires that the Location services be set to ‘ Always Allow’. I have been getting the iOS system prompt saying the following: “this app” has used used your location 40 times in the background over the past 3 days. Do you want to continue to allow background location use?) Below are two selections below ‘ Change to Only While Driving or Alway Allow’. Now 40 times in 3 days is impractical since I drive less than 7 miles on any given single day once a week. This has always been the most annoying aspect of the this app app since I switched a few years ago. I also agree with other reviewers concerning inaccurate use of the phone while driving. I’m deaf so I don’t use the phone tho I worry that if a spammer calls while I’m driving and ignore it, it will still count as if I used the phone. The UI interface is quite ugly and textually ‘busy’ and lacking that eye candy factor compared to the more aesthetic one before. I’d like to see that the location service be changed so that it is set to ‘Allow while using’. The ‘Use Phone While Driving’ needs to be reconsidered. The ONLY improvement I like in the last upgrade is that the Face ID is enabled.

Stellar Customer Service and Experience

I wanted to say that I rarely leave reviews for anything but I wanted to take the time to say HOW ABSOLUTELY AMAZING it has been to have this app as my insurance provider. I heard about a local branch that was a favorite of a coworker years ago as a freshman college student with zero experience/knowledge about insurance. Through every step of getting insurance, having to cancel my insurance, and then picking it up later again, they have been awesome at answering all of my questions and getting me the best prices. Even when I received a new car and was shopping for insurance, ridiculously high quotes were given to me, and then the second I call this app, my rep Cathe Cook’s branch found me not only an affordable quote, but also one that covered me in every way comfortably and they worked to find me discounts I could qualify for. Not to mention they found it all without me even needing to ask! Every question I email or call in about is answered super promptly, and I never leave the conversation confused. I 10/10 recommend👏🏾

Service unavailable almost every day

I started using Allstate last week. Since then I’m always getting service unavailable whenever I try to login to check my driving feedbacks. The first it happened I called Allstate support and she said I need to delete Allstate and reinstall it. This is because I mentioned that I was able to login on my desktop but not using my iPhone. So she solved my problem. However when I checked the trips they were gone, meaning I had lost the points for good driving. Today for the 3rd time it happened again. I just did the same delete and reinstall process without calling support. And of course the trips are all gone and I’m missing the reward points again. I think this a bug that needs to be fixed right away. Otherwise it’s pointless to have Allstate running in the background (and draining the phone’s battery without getting any reward points.

Features are not working!

Hello,
I contacted tech support about Allstate over a month ago. There are still kinks that need to be worked out and it’s annoying. The FaceId still does not log you in to Allstate unless you manually type your password. That totally defeats the purpose of using Faceid. Also the alert feature that will alarm when you speed over 80 or brake to hard, does not work at all when toggled on(green)!! Allstate is supposed to save you money through using DriveWise, but if the features aren’t working properly, what’s the point of having Allstate. Please work out the kinks so Allstate will be the best it can be. Thanks

I use Allstate a lot for Drivewise. I have noticed since about 2 updates ago, when you launch Allstate , it doesn’t immediately pop up with Face ID, you have to touch the face so you can log on. Also, when you touch the Face ID sometimes, a message appears saying sorry, call this app or cancel. At that point, I hit cancel, input my password, then Allstate signs you in. Please fix Face ID login & the sorry, call this app(for whatever reason prompt)when trying to log in. When I launch Allstate , it should immediately login because I have Face ID stored in my settings. Using IPhone XR by the way. Thanks.

Love Allstate

I just signed up with this app Agee months ago! I had been with Geico for 29 years! While we were in the Air Force it was the least expensive insurance around! I hate to say this but I feel that we are becoming numb to important things and only thinking about ourselves! My daughter is in the Air Force right now and I’m so proud! Geico lost us as customers because they stopped caring about the people & started caring about the money! this app has been amazing to us! Our Agent is friendly, checks in with us once in a while, if I ask for something it’s done, and after all that it is the least expensive insurance around! We need to stop complaining about the little things & look around! Get your head out of your phone, tablet, or computer and learn to communicate again!

Stranded on freeway for 2 hours

I called roadside after catching a flat on the freeway. I spoke with the dispatch for over 40 minutes trying to answer a bunch of questions while he was struggling to understand, google location. He told me because the flat was in the side of freeway he wanted to send tow, get off freeway then fix flat. He then told me I would be contacted by the driver and hung up. After 45 minuets I called back to be told He never entered Anything, no tow was dispatched to my location. On the phone with the new rep another 20 minutes, then waited another 40 minutes for the guy to show up and fix the flat on the freeway. I am very dissatisfied with this service, I was left in a dangerous situation for hours with no help, and the understanding help was in the way. Very poor service! I’ve been a customer far to long and pay monthly to utilize the service when I need it, however, the service Failed. this app failed!
How do you Rectify this situation because right now I am ready to look for another insurance company!

Help with app please

The discounts and features on Allstate have been great until about 3 weeks ago. My wife and myself both have iPhones and both are doing the same thing now.
I keep getting a message that Allstate is turning off mid trip and I’ve done nothing to it. Battery is full. All software updates are current. One message says trip was ended when app was turned off. N my trips aren’t starting until 5 to 10 minutes into the trip. Also I can ride with both of my phones. And one will show a braking or speeding incident and the other shows no problem and the phones are sitting side by side in my vehicle. We have to use Allstate multiple times when we ride together so we can remove each other’s trips depending on who is driving. Also I have already uninstalled Allstate and reloaded it to make sure that wasn’t the issue. Please look into this problem.

Needs some serious reprogramming!

Allstate has some fundamental kinks. It randomly throws in a hard braking or speeding over 80 mph. I noticed that several times while having my wife with me in the vehicle. Her phone shows „80 mph +“ mine not (doing actually 65 mph). Mine shows „hard braking“ hers not, there was actually no braking at all, just coasting without braking. If you change seats and you decide to remove a trip‘s leg because the signifikant other takes the wheel, the whole trip is deleted! How stupid is that?
Hard braking is way to sensitive. If you approach a traffic light on a 55 mph highway and it switches to orange you have the choice of speeding up to run the red light or „hard braking“ to get to a safe stop. The third choice is to decelerate to 30 mph approaching the light and getting rear ended because you want to avoid the hard braking. Allstate needs to calculate the braking on speed allowed by the speed limit which is known to most digital maps.
So dear programmers: spend a few hundred more hours and make it right!

The drivewise app thinks I'm driving any time there is a noise. Right now I'm literally laying in bed but the window air conditioner is on so the app is telling me it's logging a trip. When I first had the app it gave me the option to say I'm not the driver. That option is gone. So I guess the app will tell Allstate that I drove all night when really I'm just sleeping in my bed. Not sure that's helpful info.

The Drivewise app is so user unfriendly that I am ready to get rid of it and pay the extra money not to have it. It shut itself off and now my driving did not record. And am I the only person who does not want my location recorded? I thought it was recording my driving, not where I go...

App is terribly slow every time I want to review my trips I just give up it takes so long. I’m on the road all day my phone is a tool to do my job I have a headset and also stream music through the headset . I constantly get calls from the office and the customers I deliver to . There’s no way I can comply with the phone tracking. Hard braking is sometime needed due to other drivers actions. Hard acceleration is sometimes needed when merging into traffic or passing. Deleted it several times just doesn’t work for me

Hate this app. It logs trips where I am a passenger. About 1/2 the time I do not get any option to ignore the trip. A better app would ask me if I'm the driver. Also continuous problems with login. Do better.

the mobile app is a very sad feature, app says wife's phone is active but needs to drive some. well she has been driving for two weeks now and it still says she needs to drive. Also on my phone it has missed several trips and the app is on sometime and other times not. have checked all setting and spent two plus hours with tech support still a screwed up app. It is sad that a multi billion company like allstate can not even get an app working correctly for their customers. Let's go back to using the plugin at least it worked. I am a 50 plus years customer and if this is not addressed in a reasonable time I think I will research other insurance companies that appreciate their customers.

The Drivewise app only records my trips once on awhile!! I drive to and from work 5 days a week. The app will go 2 weeks with no recorded trips. BUT... it WILL randomly check for trips while I'm sitting at my desk at work. I am NOT getting the benefit of low miles and safe driving I was promised when I signed up with Allstate! I'm considering changing insurance companies but I have condo insurance bundled with Allstate which will complicate things. I am very disappointed and very frustrated !!!

I have been using the app for about a month since the device was no longer supported and was told to use app. The device always registered trips. Sometimes the trips are registered but mostly they are not. I have made 23 trips and only 11 have registered. Very disappointed as I had previously received 29% discount on car policy with device. Called my agent about problem and was told that they had never heard of a problem and would look into it. Waiting for them to call back. Maybe there is an insurance company without this type of gimmick.

Drive wise not recording apps. This is my tenth complaint, I have been on hold for over an hour each time, even the agent and tech support don't help. I have deleted and installed this app until I am blue in the face. It says it is recording my trip but never does. Poorest app I have ever seen.

Records trips only 10% of the time, drops out due to loss of signal, while driving phone beeps multiple times but shows no recorded trip. I have Uninstaller and rebooted phone multiple times. When using the plug in unit I was getting rewards and now all I get is headaches.

My problem is with DriveWise app. I have the same issue as so many reviewers: rarely records a trip, makes me log-in over and over, etc. However, what I find particularly annoying is that Allstate does not provide decent support. Today I waited 1.25 hours on hold. When I was finally connected the agent helped me for 2 minutes and then with no explanation or apology put me BACK ON HOLD. I waited about 10 minutes and then finally hung up. Other times I've called for help I've waited 35 and 40 minutes. This is unacceptable.

Allstate app sucks. Anytime I log in, I have to reset my password. Every time. I tested it, by logging in and out several times in close succession, and with every new login attempt, I am told the password is incorrect. Absolutely ridiculous.

I have been an Allstate customer for over 50 years, who had no issues with the old DriveWise device installed in our vehicles. The transfer to the DriveWise app has been the most frustrating experience I have ever had with any service I pay for. To begin I had to get a smartphone in place of the flip phone which was all I needed. Then the trips not recorded, partially recorded and if recorded in the app not showing on Allstate.com. Their customer service, if you can get through, is a joke, with agents contradicting each other. If you don’t have the time required to call and e-mail it takes days to get a reply which usually states your question is too complex and requires you speak to an agent. Allstate should take some of the money their spending on commercials touting the App and develop an application that reliably does as promised with an accessible Customer Service that can resolve what should be infrequent issues.

I have already complained about the latest to requirement for the Drivewise discount which now can ONLY be utilized with the app. It requires " make sure your phone is charged" and "turn on you GPS" . I do not have unlimited data and this affects both my charge and data useage. I don't want to do phone settings everytime I get in the car. I can't use the app unless GPS is turned on--really?? My husband and I often commute--so can't distinguish that. We pick out daughter up from work by calling her with the engine running-- So annoying and it punishes our household who has a benefited from a good discount but doesn't want this poor app incovenience. NOT A HAPPY CUSTOMER! Looking at other companies as we speak.

This the worst app. I have ever used. I has not work for me for over 8 months. It is a scam the technology department can't help I have never been given the run around like this by any other company. I earned my cash back jokes on me the app was not working so they would not give me my cash back or rewards. I made complaints and spoke to level 2 tech. department nothing. The app is completely useless. I have never experienced anything like this. No one cares it's just lie after after and so I have to say it's just a scam.

I have the same issues as all above. I took my phone to my wireless provider and went through all my settings. They found nothing on my phone it was fine and there is no reason it shouldn't be tracking. It definitely is an Allstate issue. Suggest Allstate tell the Drivewise programers to reinstall the last app that worked before you lose your customers. No app update should be released to the public until it has been thoroughly tested in house. Looks like your IT group just put this latest app out and let the public test it. This not good public relations for Allstate! Like others I am getting quotes from other insurance providers. This has been very stressful especially during these times. Shame on Allstate head quarters for letting this continue!!

I thought my Drivewise was activated but was off a couple of months. I logged in and reactivated Drivewise but have to do this everytime I start. Also it's hard to sign in. A sign pops up that says Hold Tight.

I do not like the fact that location has to be set to “always”!! I have to open the app to drive so it should allow me to put location to “while in use”!! You are setting customers up for hackers ... I don’t need more things draining my phone either😤

Allstate Mobile App and Drivewise stopped working. When I log in it says Hold Tight and then the screen goes blank, nothing happens. I uninstalled and reinstalled the mobile app numerous times to try to fix these issues but it doesn't. I called Allstate Drivewise support, waited one hourto get someone on the phone and the agent could not help me and said she will transfer me to someone else, I waited again for 45 minutes then hung up! Allstate is well aware of the problems they have with the mobile app and Drivewise and does nothing about it so I will switch insurance companies.

I have an IPhone 6 and up until a month ago my app was working. I’ve had Drivewise for almost two years. I received an email rom my agent on December 29, 2020 that Drivewise hasn’t detected a trip in the last 28 days. After several attempts to Drivewise tech support it was determined that ALL IPhones are having issues with Drivewise not updating. I tried to open the Allstate app but was not successful. They told me I should hear something via email within 30-40 days. I missing out on the checks I received. I have over 65,000 points that I can’t get an answer from either my Agent or Drivewise on how to use them.

This app does not work. It worked in the past, but now it has stopped recording my trips. I attempted to install the Dec 2020 update and now it does nothing but flash on my screen to "close app"...which by the way, when I hit the close app option it doesn't close the app and flashes consistently on my phone, even when I'm using another app. Here's my ultimatum...fix it or I will switch to another insurance company. Allstate has 7 days to figure it out or I will switch to another insurance company!

I can't even sign on successfully to the Allstate app. I can with my user id and password on my Chromebook without any problem. Every time I try to sign on to my app, the phone says a wait message then kicks me off the app. I wanted to activate drivewise on my app with Allstate, but instead it still gives me a lot of trouble.

Your ALL STATE APP does not work properly. Could not stay logged in. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it. Now it will not open at all. I see many, many, many users are having same problem. Guess I will need to change carriers.

The app just does not work. Of the 20 or so trips I have taken since Dec 1 the app has recorded only 2. On one trip last week I stopped at the dry cleaners 2 miles from my house, ran errands and went home. It only recorded the 2 miles from home to the dry cleaner. Most days it records nothing. I have deleted and reinstalled app 7 times. I have called in and waited over 1 hr only to hear "reboot and reinstall." This is horrendous. It basically does not work. Capturing 1.5 trips out of 20 total is just nuts.

Your company needs to find a better App in Allstate Drivewise. It worked ok and now since Nov. 13, 2020 it hasn't worked. Got a new phone Nov. 26th and it still doesn't work. Maybe you a should reduce my car insurance 15 bucks a month or look for another company.

I have an older iphone . I clicked on the app and it went back to the original screen. I uninstalled and tried again and same thing. So frustrating as I have loads of pics to send to my catastrophic team person of damages done. Very aggravating as I don't want to get pictures one by one to computer to send.

Same as everyone else I guess. The app is not working. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, forced stop, changed my password. It doesn't work. That is one of the reasons I have stayed with allstate to get the extra discount. Sadly that may change. As much as I dislike the thought. Oh well.

OMG this is the worse app!! I know I'm not the only one who cannot open the app since the last update began in Nov 2020. This is ridiculous and Allstate has not even addressed this issue. All I keep getting is an email notification saying that they noticed I haven't used the app recently. Well if you can notice that I haven't used the app why can't you notice that the app doesn't work? This is so frustrating I almost want to through my iPhone 6 out the car!

App doesn’t work. Got email from Allstate saying Drivewise not recording trips. Have talked to agent multiple times and tech support twice with no help whatsoever. Only way to get app to work sometimes is to open it while I am driving - yes that’s right - while I am driving. Does Allstate think this is a safe way to do business? Take you ad off the television. Drive wise doesn’t work and you offer no help to your customers.

I have had a similar experience to the others who report that that Drivewise app does not work. I use a Galaxy S20 phone and my wife uses an Iphone 11. Neither phone is currently recording any trips. Reaching tech support is a nightmare. My agent told me that he had not heard of problems with the app. If there are no problems then why is there a 2 hour wait to reach tech support? I finally got the app to recognize trips - but after 2 weeks it stopped working again. Ironically I got an email from Allstate asking why I'm not recording any trips.

We both use Android phones and my wife's phone records 90% of the trips. My profile has never worked and was setup by myself on the phone with tech support. With the new update on Nov. 24th my drivewise dashboard has disappeared. Our Agent has been on the phone with tech support several times and they do not even listen to him. So, what chance does a customer have?

The app was working fine until you "updated" it on November 5th. You advertise a discount for using Drivewise and then disable the app and make it totally unusable. Seems like Bait And Switch. Your tech support on this app is so bad, we can't even reach your tech support unless we want to listen to music on hold for over 2 hours. I have a Samsung Galaxy S10 Android phone.

Ive been with allstate for 5 years. My ome, 4 vehicles and a motorcycle. They've been the least expensive. Sadly, the allstate app recently decided that I MUST AGREE TO ENROLL IN DRIVEWISE if I want to continue to use the app! I can't even get on the app to do anything without it asking me to accept or decline DRIVEWISE. I always decline and it swiftly closes the app automatically. If I can't use the app, I can't easily pay my bill and can't show my proof of coverage if needed. I also can't contact roadside assistance when I need it. I am paying extra for that but I can't even use it because they won't let me on the app unless I accept the use of drivewise. I really don't need allstate or the company that owns drivewise knowing when I drive, where I drive, how fast I drive, how hard I brake or accelerate. It is none of their business. I will drop this insurer if they do not stop trying to force me to use drivewise.

why do you have to "fix " something that isn't broke. Your new upgrade just is not acceptable. I feel like I'm being spied on. Do not feel comfortable giving you access to all my movements. On top of that it doesn't work. Tell the braintrust that sold you this app that people are unhappy. Gee is that when they shop competitors. Bet you geico would love to have me back
