Tailwind: Planner & Scheduler Reviews

So, I wrote to this app because I was hitting an image limit of 10 images when trying to schedule an Instagram story. This was pretty prohibitive to my workflow, as I tend to share up to 20 images at a time to my stories when delivering sneak previews to my clients. I talked with Clay at this app customer service, and he not only told me he would share my feedback of raising the image limit, he specifically asked me what limit would be more useful for me. Which like, ok, already stellar service because when is the last time you shared feedback with a company who then asked you for specifics on the changes you’d want to see rather than just giving you a generic ‘I’ll share that with the team!’ So, fast forward a few hours (yes SAME DAY), Clay emails me again to say that the team has officially raised the limit on story images to 20, per my feedback. Wut. What company does that? This is wildly impressive customer service folks. I know Tailwind isn’t perfect (what app is?), but this kind of experience cinched it for me. I am officially moving over to this app for my social media planning. And yes, I’m a real person who actually had this experience, and nope I’m not getting anything in return for this review. Just seriously stoked on the experience I just had. Thanks so much Clay and team!

this app on the desktop/laptop is useful and how it worked on the iPad before the recent update was ok. Now when I’m using Tailwind on safari on my iPad Pro this app no longer shows all the photos of my products in my Etsy shop. It only shows the cover photo. This is no different than using Pinterest to pin from my etsy shop. Pinterest now likes fresh pins even if they link to the same website. Being able to choose multiple photos of my product to pin from my Etsy listing (through Safari) was the whole reason I liked using this app on my iPad. this app through Safari on iPad also no longer lets you choose multiple boards. I can only choose one board at a time. Useless. As for Tailwind itself: it no longer works in landscape mode on the iPad. I hate apps that do that. If they have an iPad version it should work in landscape mode. It also no longer lets you choose multiple boards. The purpose of this app is to let you take one pin and add it to multiple boards at the time. Tailwind update took that function away. Why? Tailwind wasn’t perfect before. It did have glitches but I was able to sit with my iPad while watching tv and get my drafts scheduled. Now this app is only useful on my desktop which isn’t always convenient for me to use. Please, please fix this. this app on iOS on iPad Pro used to work just like this app on Desktop on Safari. Make that part functional again.

Small business owners, please beware! I prepaid for a year of service with this app and was disappointed with their app. At the end of the term, I planned on canceling and moving to a different service. Before my term expired, they tried to charge my card for another year with no warning or reminder. I immediately tried to delete my account per the instructions via their knowledge base and it would not allow me to do so. I stopped using the service before the end of my term but they decided to double bill me and my billing dashboard showed I owed them twice the annual amount. They no longer offer phone support and I’ve written 3 emails with no response. They continue to try and charge my card (thankfully it’s an expired card) and are claiming I have overdue invoices. This type of shady business practice is unacceptable; not to mention that Tailwind doesn’t work consistently. They also lack features that other services provide without the bloated prices and lack of support and service. Extremely disappointed. I will never use them again for my business or recommend them to the other small businesses that I work with. Shame on you, this app, for shady billing practices!

I get that there are features not yet on Tailwind . Although I do find it disappointing that tribes and analytics are not available, I find the one crucial feature that definitely needs to be fixed is the “new boards update”. I have a few boards that I changed the title of just a little and so far I haven’t been able to update them on Tailwind . If I schedule anyway they will fail. I use Tailwind when I’m mobile to find repins since I can’t get the this app icon to go onto my browser and from there I’d be happy to schedule drafts but I have to switch to website to be able to choose “updated” boards as well as lock,unlock,move pins to a time slot of my choosing, which is another issue with app. Honestly though, at this point there are so many missing features and things wrong with Tailwind, if I could get the this app icon on my iPad’s browser, I would abandon Tailwind

This is a great concept - the integration with Pinterest, the smart click link bio thing, but the lack of intuitive features, even in the desktop is frustrating. The pre-planned suggested content topics is great, but gets out of order when you’re arranging your content.

The iPhone app? Terrible. I lost some really great content when I created it on my phone and went to finish it on the desktop. Now my efforts are neither on the phone app or the desktop. Not to mention the phone app repeatedly freezes AND when posts are not posted, the notifications are inconsistent at best. I’ve gone back to Instagram or to my desktop to find my posts did not publish.

I have my other business profile on Planoly and will keep it there, foregoing some of the features here. The frustration and time lost is not worth it.

I’m a busy solopreneur who is trying to manage it all. Before this app I would post periodically because between working full time and side hustling I could not find the time to post to social media. I knew the importance of being consistent when building an audience so knew it was imperative the I post and engage with my audience. this app has made it so easy. I know batch upload my content and this app auto posts according to the best time it’s data shows my audience is most active on the platform. My engagement has skyrocketed. Thanks this app from one of your biggest fans!

I’ve been with this app since it first started out. this app as a whole is amazing and I will continue to pay for their service, however Tailwind definitely needs updating. It has not had any significant updates since being launched. For the amount I pay monthly for tribes and smartloop I would love to see them added to Tailwind . Also perhaps easier scheduling from Pinterest to Tailwind with less bugs and issues would be nice. I find that I hardly use Tailwind and instead fumble around with the website which also is not the best on mobile or tablets (I do most of my work on desktop when needed) I would give Tailwind 1 star but the this app service 5 which is why I settled on a 3 star rating overall.

I absolutely LOVE this app and it’s capabilities. It’s a powerhouse of a tool for social media and is gold for a small business owner. However, as someone who works a full time job on top of two other small business I look for things that can maximize my time. Which means I don’t always have the time to sit on my laptop to schedule. It usually happens when I’m in the middle of my work day away from my computer. It would be amazing if Tailwind could have more of the tools available on mobile and more of an user friendly interface. It’s a bummer I spent money on it but haven’t been able to use it to its full capacity due to this problem. Otherwise I love the program itself.

It took me forever to figure out how to use Tailwind. I literally had it installed for a week before I actually learned how to do something with it. You have to share directly from your browser to this app and you can share straight from Etsy app. In addition, I tried to start scheduling some pins for my business Pinterest account and the boards were not updated properly. Apparently they only updated every 24 hours so if you’ve created a new board, you will not see it in this app. There is supposed to be a solve for this but I couldn’t figure it out. Would be a super helpful tool if the features could be updated!

Concept is great but functionality is lacking. The mobile app needs a serious overall. It’s slow and takes forever to schedule a single pin. Now with the latest iOS update for iPhone 12pro max the this app app doesn’t even work. Never opens, just spins and spins. You can’t even send pins through Pinterest to the mobile app anymore. Totally useless. The desktop is only a tad better with consistent kinks there too. Unfortunately, their tech support will only help you if you send videos of the problems you’re experiencing but they can’t be just any video. You have to download their video software for screen recording/sharing. Consider yourself out of luck if the issue doesn’t occur in that moment. The Dev Team needs some help.

As a scheduler/planner it’s amazing if you use the internet version, Tailwind has a lot to be desired though. I hardly ever use Tailwind on my phone because it’s lacking in over 95% of the features the online version has. You can’t access tribes or loops, and they don’t give suggestions for content to schedule. And every time I search content to post the exact same things pop up for the phone app. I’ve deleted Tailwind from my phone and have put a shortcut link to the internet version on my home screen. The company as whole is amazing and I’ll continue to use them but won’t be downloading Tailwind again till features are added and it does more of what the internet version does.

Ive bern using it for a while still getting the hang of some things (like Pinning to Pinterest seems more difficult than if I just pinned straight to my boards myself) i love being able to schedule to Instagram for weeks out. And the staff and creators of this app are SO helpful and respond very fast! They are friendly and you can tell they want to help as best they can! I’ve been recommending this app to all of my fellow Bloggers. Tailwind is life changing! The update is taking time to get used to but I can tell they made some serious improvements

Been using this for about a month or so and really have noticed positive results. A few things could use some tweaking but for the most part it’s all quite user friendly. Love being able to schedule the best times for posts and how they already have hashtags they are most relevant for my niche.
Currently I’m working on integrating it with Pinterest and eager to see how well they all works. In all, I highly recommend this app and their support has been good. Sometimes you wait for an answer, but they’re still small and I’m sure that will improve.

Since using this app I’ve had so much more insight to my IG following and the way the algorithms work. I LOVE the hashtag finder and I love scheduling my posts so far in advance I never have to worry. There are a few bugs in Tailwind , sometimes it’s hard to upload photos and time slots can get messed up really fast if I try to add any manually. Sometimes posts randomly get lost and hard to recover. Using the desktop version is MUCH easier and less frustrating. Overall a great concept and I’ll continue to use it despite the bugs (that hopefully get fixed in the future).

I can tap my screen, lightly touch my screen, push hard on my screen, but Tailwind does NOT work at all! I can’t move pins about 75% of the time, because it doesn’t even sense my touch. My phone works perfectly with every other app, so it’s for sure this app. I tried it in my iPad and I didn’t work any better there...
I’ve submitted help tickets and updated 3 or 4 times and it’s not getting fixed. Wish I could give it -5 stars.
The horrible quality of Tailwind is enough to make me close my account completely. I had several months of pins lined up, and the idea of losing all of that is the only thing keeping me at the moment.
Are you EVER going to fix this? It’s been broken for almost 6 weeks!

The latest version 3.0.3 has officially killed Tailwind . You cannot see what you are typing or adding hashtags.
Tailwind has become useless. Since I do most of my work on my iPhone, I've had to start using two other apps for my posts, since both of them work perfectly on my iPhone, without having to go to the desktop.
I've tried several times to encourage this company to fix the mobile app so that it can be similar to the desktop version, but unfortunately they never have a good timeline, just an excuse that they are working on it.
As of now I cannot use the mobile app at all. So it just takes up space on my iPhone for now.
Please up your efforts on revamping Tailwind so that it can be more useful to us mobile users. Thanks.

The developer responded quickly which was nice +1 star and gave me a work around +1 star. Once it’s really fixed then this will be a 5star app! Thanks!

Fix- schedule to calendar then post directly from that view, cumbersome but I’m told it will be made easier.

I just updated Tailwind and while there was some improvement with the option to post the hashtags as the first comment there was also a major downside! The feature to ‘post now’ was removed! I used that frequently to post quickly things I wanted my followers to see - no more 👎

This used to be my go to way of scheduling this app because the online this app scheduler is cumbersome to use. Now not only is Tailwind just terribly slow, but the pins are tiny and the date is huge across the pins making them even more difficult to see. The suggested pins feature has been taken out, which is a huge disappointment. And the cherry on top — no landscape mode. VERY annoying. The least they could’ve done is add the “use interval” feature that’s available on the web site, but nope. I still give it two stars because it’s still easier than the online scheduler, but in general I’m extremely disappointed.

I’ve used Tailwind for approximately one week. According to Instagram, since using this app, my reach has gone from 2,000 a week to 84. That’s a HUGE difference! I gained more followers than usual, but they were mostly accounts playing the follow/unfollow game.

As a business account on Instagram, they show me when my followers are most active on average as part of the insights feature. The times they show me and the times Tailwind gives me are extremely different.

I liked the hashtag suggestions, but I’m not 100% sure they’re actually effective seeing how low my reach has been. Luckily, I didn’t pay for any features on Tailwind, so it’s simply trial and error and I’m not wasting anything but my time.

Have been using this app consistently for about the last 6-7 months, since that time they’ve rolled out quite a few new features that I feel like are “must-haves” for an application such as this. I’m always able to get my questions answered, have had a few bugs and issues but overall a positive experience and would recommend for business owners or individuals looking to make Pinterest or Instagram scheduling easy!

I had a decent enough experience with the this app browser portal. Some bugs but no big deal. The phone app is buggy to the point where I can’t rely on it for the ONE thing that the company says it does: schedules posts for social media.

Push notifications randomly decide to stop working so you miss posts constantly, Tailwind crashes more than a drunk driver, the queue keeps automatically progressing if I just click to view a scheduled post. I could go on but the point is steer clear. It worked okay enough at first but then the reality hit. I sincerely regret purchasing a paid plan from this app and will not be renewing. If you want a reliable solution go with Buffer (or literally anything else).

Some things are helpful and convenient like the hashtag suggestions. But, the biggest problem is the inability to get back into editing the caption once you’ve hit the hashtags. All I can access is a tiny area that doesn’t scroll properly. I end up having to return to the drafts button for it to re-upload. Rather frustrating for editing. Too much emphasis on hashtag suggestions. Maybe it should be on two different screens? Keep improving please... would like to continue using. Thanks!

Big warning to not even waste your time with Tailwind! As a matter of fact, unless you have a lot of time to spend in front of your laptop having an account with this app is 100% useless. Seems as though they just cannot keep up with bug issues, and there are many of them! One day you won’t be able to load Tailwind at all, and the next you won’t be able to schedule or draft anything. Sadly I’ve spent more time dealing with issues than I have working, and for something I’m paying for that’s a big turnoff! They talk a good game, but this is not the company you want to pay to help with any social media scheduling!

Tailwind is great to help me schedule all of my instagram feed. It is just what I needed. However, it doesn’t have the ability to automatically fix my spelling issues, which is a problem because I am thinking about the text and since app makers have made this pretty seamless, I forget that I have to go back and fix things. It makes me lose my thoughts. Also, I wish it had more of the website info within Tailwind . Either way I love Tailwind and will continue to use it.

Whenever I go back to edit a post I've already scheduled, the whole post disappears. I can't type because it's gone. I'm forced to start over.
Also weird that you can't actually edit the photo on Tailwind in terms of something as simple and necessary as cropping. Have to redo the whole thing & crop from your photos app.
To custom schedule, tap the green arrow to the right when you're about to schedule, in case it isn't obvious.
Other than that, it's simple and easy to use.

When Tailwind works correctly, I love it. Picks great hashtags and has a great set it and forget it feel. My BIG pet peeve with using Tailwind has been this glitch where it will show the header and hashtags you put in, but when it posts it deletes all the hashtags and half if not all of the header!! So infuriating 😡 Especially when you check the post an hour later and see that nothing has happened with it since it has defeated its most useful aspect, the hashtags! I hope they can fix this huge issue. Seems to be when you break the header into paragraphs.

This is a great and convenient app when it works except it constantly crashes on log ins. The only fix is to uninstall and then reinstall to try and log in.

Have not been able to log into another account. When trying to log in as another account app shuts down. Very frustrating.

I have an iPhone 6 Plus and it’s great for scheduling posts on the go. If this can get fixed I would happily change my review
