Confusing!

The new settings on PeriodTracker is confusing! I’ve been using PeriodTracker since 2015 and this is the first time I’m lost. March was fine but since PeriodTracker changed it’s layout, I’ve been trying to figure out how to log my period for April. After logging my cycle that lasted from April 6th - April 9th, PeriodTracker keeps telling me I’m 23 days behind on my period (what da heck?!?). After trying to re-log it several times, it’s now saying my next period is in 21 days, then it says my next period is in 3 days which are both incorrect!! It’s also making me log my feelings/mood/period flow, etc. for each day which is annoying. I’ve never had to do so much work to simply log my cycle. It’s frustrating because right now, it’s not giving me the accurate date of when I should expect my cycle to begin for the month of May. All of the new icons and emojis are really cute and helpful, BUT PeriodTracker was very simplified before, so I’m not sure why all of a sudden a need to complicate it. It just should not be this annoying to simply log my monthly!!! Before, I was able to tap on a date and PeriodTracker would ask if it’s the first day of my period and I would simply click yes. Then I’d be able to tap on the last day of my period and select yes for the end of my cycle. PLEASE, PLEASE fix this ASAP!! This has always been a great app, please simplify it like it was before. Thank you so much!

Great App

I really enjoy PeriodTracker and 🖤 how it syncs with the section of apples health app under menstrual. PeriodTracker is great for notes too for other medical info you can record even though you’re not currently documenting your menstrual cycle.
I do however really dislike the ad you have when you’re first opening PeriodTracker . If you don’t get you password or the facial recognition button pressed, the ad will block you from being able to close the ad, move around the ad, or succeed in anyway to login. Sometimes it takes me up to four tries to get the facial recognization login to activate. I also wouldn’t every pay to use PeriodTracker, because I have an iPhone and my health menstrual tracker works great. I did use the free trial, and made sure I canceled before my card was charged. I did this to see if there were other paid options I might choose to use in the future to see if this would allow me a bigger advantage with PeriodTracker .

Logging periods

Logging periods has become quite confusing. What’s wrong with logging first day and last day? I preferred having the calendar easily visible from the home screen and in the click of a button my cycle is updated. Instead, if I click “Edit Period” from the home screen it takes me back to my last cycle.... why would I need change that when I’m trying to log the first day of my new cycle? Or I have click the calendar and then either Log Cycle or Edit Cycle appears and then a click to set up the whole cycle on day 1... also doesn’t make sense since on Day 1, I don’t necessarily know how long it will last.
I’ve been using PeriodTracker since 2012. Previous upgrades have been very helpful and made necessary adjustments. It was also easily adaptable but this one in early 2020 just took a big step backward and I’m still struggling a couple months later and have already unintentionally edited last months cycle interfering with my data’s quality and integrity. I know this sounds stereotyped, but I have a weird feeling a bunch of men without medical degrees were behind this upgrade.

Change back to previous layout

I have been using PeriodTracker since as long as I can remember. I love how accurate everything is and how it was easy to use. However, with the newest update I can boldly say I hate it. I have no idea how to use PeriodTracker anymore and I find the new look of the calendar and features to be as I can bluntly say ugly. It’s starting to frustrate me that I don’t even know how to mark the day of my period on my calendar anymore. I am a big fan of PeriodTracker it has helped me so much but I’m not a fan of the new layout. I’m begging the designers/developers/creators to please go back to the original layout it was perfect. There was nothing that needed to be fixed or modernized about the previous layout. It was efficient and eye catching as well, I especially loved how we could customize our calendars to an extent. I loved how even though there were extra features in PeriodTracker you had to pay for there were many features that were free and fairly so. Please, go back to the original layout, it was simple and nice to look at as well as minimalistic, the new update is a pain.

Been using this app for years!!

I actually love PeriodTracker, I’ve been using it for years. I’ve seen it go through some major changes in the preface of PeriodTracker , but I get used to the little changes and add ons. The only thing I don’t like is that I used to have access to certain features that I now have to pay to upgrade in order to use, like the graph chart, this is a little annoying. But overall this is PeriodTracker I’ve been using since 2015 and it has the last 5 years of tracking my cycle on it. This makes it so much easier whenever the medical question comes up in appointment. Also I like that it notifies me when my period is about to start soon, it’s normally pretty accurate within a day or two, sometimes I get the notification the same day I start lol. But I do love PeriodTracker, and it’s pretty on top of everything else☺️

Can no longer see predicted ovulation

I’ve been a member since 2014 I think and I can really say that the new update is not very helpful. I’ve raved about PeriodTracker to others and got other people to use it because I loved the format and how easy it made tracking. One of the best things about PeriodTracker was being able to see at a glance ovulation predictions well in advance. My husband is in the military and being able to know where I will be in my cycle several months from now is actually very important for our fertility because of deployments. Two features that are lacking since this new version is that you can no longer see ovulation predictions AND you can only look a couple months ahead in your cycle. I think only 4 months ahead. My cycle is pretty regular so a 6 month or even a year out calendar is pretty accurate for me - a DEFINITE downgrade in the new update. I would love to see these two things addressed in a new update, otherwise I’ll have to find something else that helps me look ahead.

Review

Love PeriodTracker I’ve been using it frequently for years and it just got even better with the new upgrade I think I’m going to start paying monthly for it cuz it just blew me away, awesome! I sent feed back about wanting my symptoms with my notes and it was already on there with the new update. (Aka they new before I even asked!) Don’t judge by not wanting change. Looks great love the new design. I was like oh my gosh... at first since I was on the phone with my doctor when I discovered my app had been completely updated and I didn’t know where my stuff was!! Lol but after some grumbling on my part I delightedly discovered some amazing changes! Changes I wished they had previously! I’ve been with PeriodTracker since I was in high school and now I’m married. That’s like ten or eleven years! Totally love it! 💋😘🤪

Scam don’t buy the full version

I have used PeriodTracker for awhile now. I have purchased the full version before. Now many of the apps features are not available on the new app w/o again paying for PeriodTracker . I have contacted the apps customer service and they tell me to restore PeriodTracker purchase. This option is not available. However, PeriodTracker now charges yearly fees and is way overpriced for an app that requires you to pay for all the “extras” that were on PeriodTracker before. All my records are not visible to me anymore because of this. If I knew I would have to pay more than once for a calendar I would have used my phone’s calendar for free to track my data. I use PeriodTracker to record data for my healthcare provider. Now the data I had in the old app’s version will not download. I could understand paying for new features but not old ones that was already paid for in the past.

Hate new update

I’ve been using PeriodTracker for years and have loved it for its look and simplicity and accuracy for predicting my period. However, since the new update I hate the new look and the algorithm for predicting off the last 3 periods isn’t working and I didn’t realize that until my period started a week before it predicted but after I looked at it it started on an accurate date based on my last three cycles. If the problems don’t get fixed I may switch to using a different tracking app. I also hate how you now have to scroll more to select having taken a pill - that’s a daily thing so should have the ability to turn on birth control mode and have that at the top. Prior to the recent update I’d have rated it five stars and if the issues with the new confusing interface and non working algorithms are fixed I’ll gladly change my rating.

Trash

I specifically chose PeriodTracker because it’s like a calendar with a “period started” and “period ended” options, and next month start date prediction. It has been working just fine for a long time. After the last update, it’s clear that the developers wanted to milk us for money, squeezing an ad everywhere possible. Now, i get 2 ads upon opening PeriodTracker , and 2 at every other date i choose (checking what i wrote before). PeriodTracker is literally impossible to use. Also, everything just became confusing, instead of actually improving with the update and easing everything for users.
Consider that I took time to go in here and write a review on a period tracking app, and find another one. I need to look for another one too, but it’s gonna be annoying copying all my data for years.

Exporting period data

I like PeriodTracker and have used it for years but I just went to export my data to provide to my doctor and it doesn’t allow you to export your actual period data. I’ve been using it since 2016. The chart it creates to export doesn’t include when your period stops and starts and how long it lasted. It only includes weight mood and symptoms. This is not helpful. PeriodTracker itself has a chart of average length of the period and shows when the period starts and stops but you can’t export that chart. Please fix this.

To many changes and not for the better

To many changes to PeriodTracker. The original made it super easy to track periods, ovulation days, temps., ect. Now there is just to much going on and way to many ads and pop ups, unless less you pay for the upgrade. Many of the ads not to mention are for fertility issues. Which I have personally experienced and continue to have. In dealing with this it’s hard to keep seeing these ads continue to be blasted in my face. It’s just a reminder of how hard it has been to become pregnant let alone the struggles of daily life. Please go back to original settings and cut back on the ads in that area!

By

Meh🤷🏽‍♀️

it’s not the best app or the worst. the update made editing period dates a little harder. i wish i bought the upgrade before they started subscription based. subscription based is such a scam imo and getting hit with the “upgrade” screen every time i open PeriodTracker is kinda annoying and makes me want to delete PeriodTracker . The only reason I keep it is cause I’ve been using it for years and so it has all my period data. Might start transferring the data to another app soon. Also no support for NuvaRing birth control tracking. Only for pill users. Just overall meh. wouldn’t recommend but if you’ve been using it forever it’s not necessary to delete yet.

Offensive Advertising

For the last several months, PeriodTracker has been showing almost exclusively ads for the Trump campaign. Many of these are extremely sensationalized and offensive, especially one in particular attacking Kampala Harris and one today that said to “support freedom” by standing against “socialist democrats”. I find it incredibly offensive to see these ads on an app that is specifically for women who are tracking their monthly cycles as Trump and his campaign have repeatedly shown to be misogynistic and against women’s rights and equality. I presume that the vast majority of users are offended by these ads and confused as to why they are being featured on PeriodTracker. Please consider the effect that these offensive, untruthful, anti-women advertisements that have absolutely nothing to do with this product have on your users.

Was GREAT...until it wasn’t.

I’ve loved PeriodTracker for YEARS for its great look and features. However, there needs to be something done about how the data is saved in PeriodTracker. When I got a new phone in years past, all my data was still backed up into PeriodTracker ; I had never needed to make an account before—PeriodTracker never even made me create one. Now, when I got another new phone over the weekend, I opened PeriodTracker to find a login screen. I tried “forgot my password” but it didn’t recognize a single one of my emails. This is probably because I NEVER NEEDED TO MAKE AN ACCOUNT. I’m going to have to delete this once-trusted app now because my several years of data are just completely gone.

By

Good - Except you need to pay to access graphs

Been using PeriodTracker for years and love the visuals, it’s more reliable than other apps like “Flo” and I can easily disregard a non- typical cycle from the overall stats!

That said I have just started tracking my temperature to help better understand my cycle and it does not include any graphs to see results - you have to pay the monthly subscription for this. Testing some new apps now that include this option for free.

Also do not like the current Ads I am being shown - they used to be related to PeriodTracker . Now I’m seeing political ads which i think are extremely inappropriate and constant.

My Information is now gone!

I’ve been using PeriodTracker 2015 and I loved it. I’ve been through the changes and glitches. I even started premium a couple years ago. I don’t know what type of update just happened but now all my information is gone. I can’t get it back and I know my log in information. I’m so disappointed that I’m just going to stop using it. Years of tracking is just gone.

Update: Using the restore account did not bring back any of my information starting from Jan 2019. That is also the time when I started using premium and was much more active meaning I logged so much information . Once again I’m just disappointed. PeriodTracker has lost many customers from this update they just did. It’s horrible!!

Latest update lost all data

I used PeriodTracker for years and went into PeriodTracker this evening. It told me it has to update data and I had to wait “a few seconds” which actually ended up being a few minutes. When it finally finished, it did not know my email. I forgot my password so I can’t get into my account. (Previously I used Face ID to get past password.) So now years of data is gone. Ugh.

Update: contacted the developer, and they also responded to this review. I was able to restore all data. Yay! I exported it, just in case. Now to go in and figure out how to use PeriodTracker . Sometimes updates are not so great.

Update is Horrible

I’ve used PeriodTracker for YEARS. I count is as an important tool that helped me to get pregnant.

I went back into PeriodTracker this cycle and it’s awful. The advertising trying to force me to pay for premium is large and makes the calendar screen hard to read. There are new little buttons that attract you to “check them out”- these are just links back to the premium advertisement.

You can’t change the color scheme any longer, which isn’t a make or break but it was a fun feature that is now lost.

The interface to log your symptoms and track days is hard to use and feels cartoonish now?

I’m so upset, I’ve advocated for and loved PeriodTracker for 5+ years and now I’m looking for a new app and will delete this one. All for the sake of making more money off me. I’m extremely disappointed, Apple; you get plenty of my funds. If you want more money from me- how about designing quality products that last a long time without having to manipulate me into buying the newest best thing. You’re losing sight of what makes quality, long lasting products to make a quick $1.99 from me. It’s just disgusting.

Worked great until it glitched

PeriodTracker worked great for many years. It’s been useful to me practically when my period first started. However today I was trying to check when my next period is and PeriodTracker keeps glitching. Every time I open it, I see the pin screen for a split second but not enough to actually put my pin in before the push to premium pops up, which is fine except that when I close out I’m unable to enter my pin, it’s just stuck on one page where I can’t do anything. While I have enjoyed PeriodTracker, I’m not paying for it to track my period. I don’t think it’s necessary to pay and I shouldn’t have to to get past that screen.

Awesome!, but how about some features for “change of life”?

This program is excellent, i’ve been using it for well over a decade. Feature rich, but also useful and efficiently navigable if you only use a fraction of the features. My daughter is going through menses and she’s already getting familiar with PeriodTracker to better learn the rhythms of her own body. Ironically, I’m somewhere between Peri-menopause and menopause. Here’s my ask. Sometimes periods/spotting really are very close together but not an “extension” of a period due to wack-a-doodle hormone patterns. Can we please get an option that lets us designate a rare close-occurrence as an extension of a period OR as a separate menstrual event? That would be very helpful!

Years of tracking gone. Nonexistent customer service

Completely unreliable app. After switching to a new phone I logged into my app only to find all my data gone. 5 years of tracking gone. I switch iphones yearly and have never had an issue before. I tried recovering as much as possible from memory and after a few months got it back on track only for PeriodTracker to delete my data again. This time it will not let me log in to my account at all. Another year of tracking gone. Luckily i was smart and used another app as backup in case I had issues again. Emailing support is useless. I received an email back with an error message almost immediately. Do not trust your data with PeriodTracker.

By

That was awesome until 3 years of data was deleted!

Here I am crying in my living room because I tried to create an account my iPhone did not warn me in time that all my local data was going to be deleted if there was any data on my new profile. Well I have never created an account before so no worries right? WRONG! Three years of information is GONE! I have been using this as information and back up to try and get my cycles fix with my doctors now I have nothing! NOTHING! This is a huge issue! I had no data going into my new “LOG on to FACEBOOK!” So it should have synced my local data well nope! Now I have nothing! No way of tracking my periods. I’m devastated! I have sent an email to support we will see what can be done!

I Think It's Great

I have been using PeriodTracker for only a couple of months, but I must say I am impressed with the thorough categories that are available. Of course anything could use improvement, i.e, the section with the faces in regards to how you're feeling. I like the fact that I am able to journal my own information and track my pain.
So if you're looking for a user friendly app to track your cycle, this is a great one to have.

By

Easy to use

I’m new at using PeriodTracker i just downloaded on my phone. And i like how it has the period and ovulation reminders Incase you forget your fixing to start in a few days. I also like how it already has your dates logged into the next month of your cycle. I’ve tried a lot of apps but I’m going to stay with this one. Plus it gives you a diary to write in and if your trying to get pregnant Etc.

By

Lost years of info

First of all, the icon for PeriodTracker is very similar to the one for pictures on the iPhone which can be confusing.

I have been using the Free version of this tracker for several years. I just decided to go ahead and pay for it because the ads have become increasingly annoying. I tried recovering my password but it didn’t recognize either of my email addresses so I tried signing in with Facebook, which I wasn’t that comfortable about but didn’t know what else to do.

All of my years of data were totally wiped out. I’m very annoyed and have downloaded a few other cycle tracking apps and will likely delete this one.

By

Great app!

I started using PeriodTracker near the end of my college days to avoid accidents. When I got married, we used PeriodTracker to avoid ovulation days (didn’t get pregnant for 2 years). After we’d saved some money, we used PeriodTracker to find ovulation days (we were expecting within 2 months). I’ve been using PeriodTracker for several years and it’s never let me down. Very dependable.

By

Doesn’t let you adjust start date

I got a new phone and all my data was deleted after years of using so I made an account to save my data but it is of no use because when I made it it saved an incorrect start date that it doesn’t let me adjust so I deleted and reinstalled and am now using it without an being able to save my data on my account again ,please let us fix period start date not just end, thank you, otherwise it’s a very useful and accurate app

By

Semi-Helpful

While certain functionality of PeriodTracker is helpful, one of the reasons I’m using it is to track my irregular cycle. However, if you input information such as the start date of your cycle that conflicts with what PeriodTracker predicted your cycle to be, it will change all of your previously recorded information for prior months. As someone who needs to be able to chart my past cycles to establish patterns, this is incredibly frustrating. I tried emailing for support - ‘we’re always available to help!’ - but the email box is full and my message failed.

By

I am so upset

I NEVER leave reviews because I don’t have time..but this was my favorite app and I had recommended it to everyone I know! I synched to Facebook thinking it would keep my info for later access or if I needed to switch phones and lost years of cycles. I had them all since I had baby and it was important to be able to see my trends, as I’m now avoiding getting pregnant again. I emailed them and haven’t received a response, but regardless, have read on here that they haven’t helped anyone with this problem.

I’m happy to keep suggesting PeriodTracker to others and change my review and stars given if this issue is fixed.

By

Great, but it stopped saving information

I’ve been using PeriodTracker for over a year and I absolutely loved it...until it stopped saving my symptoms on the tracker a few months ago. I can see what symptoms I have for the current month, but that’s it. Anything prior to that isn’t saving anymore. I pressed the link for app support, but it takes me to a page that says “404 page not found”. I guess I’ll have to find another app to track my cycles!

By

Love the App, one suggestion

PeriodTracker is wonder - easy and beautiful.
There is just one small thing that drives me crazy that really isn’t a big deal. On the temperature and weight scales, the numbers have two decimal points. Rarely do thermometers or scales have two decimal points so I always have to scroll to the nearest 10th. I realize this is small and silly but it really drives me crazy!

Ads force me to quit and re-open

PeriodTracker itself has been fine - I have used it for years without issue - but recently, the ads have been so obnoxious. They open full screen, and the little “x” to close them is right in the corner at the top, behind the status bar at the top of my screen. So there’s no way to actually close the ad, and I have to force quit the whole app. Ridiculous. I have to open PeriodTracker and look quickly at the date, trying to beat the timing of these silly pop-ups. I’m considering finding an alternate app because the ads make PeriodTracker almost useless.

By

Amazing!

I am using PeriodTracker for a bit over a year, it’s perfect. I know when I’m safe to have my boyfriend not pull out and when i can have him pull out have not been pregnant all this months so PeriodTracker works. I think it works best if you log on everyday your feelings and stuff so that it learns you. It’s pretty cool. I am not on birth control so PeriodTracker helps me.
