Good app, but here’s some suggestions

GoogleClassroom is really good and very convenient. It’s nice to just look on google classroom for assignments and links instead of typing it in manually in the search bar or having to ask the teacher. All the one star reviews are from kids who want google classroom taken off GoogleClassroom store, but take in mind it would be a LOT worse without it. The other kids think that school would stop if google classroom was taken off. However, GoogleClassroom isn’t exactly perfect and I have a few suggestions.
I like how everything is nice and organized, but I have a comment about accessing classes. On the side menu you can view and access your other classes, but I think it’d be a good idea to put a little drop down menu for each class to easily go to classwork or stream or people. This is because it takes FOREVER to load everything. That’s another suggestion. PLEASE MAKE GoogleClassroom FASTER! It takes 20 seconds for it to load, and what is SUPER frustrating is when you go into classroom and THEN your teacher posts the assignment and you have to reload it again, wasting another 30 WHOLE SECONDS. It’s VERY slow and frustrating, and I hope to see it fixed in the future.
Anyways, thanks for reading my rant (good+bad) about GoogleClassroom . Even though it has like 1.5 stars, it’s not true and is a very good app for schools and classes.

Good but the updates are inconsistent and make the app hard to use.

I use Google classroom as that is what my school uses. However I have ran into so many issues that GoogleClassroom has just become plain annoying. For example my math teacher requires us to scan our work and turn it in via Google classroom. At first we were told to use an app called GeniusScan however GoogleClassroom wouldn’t let me upload files from my iCloud drive so I used the built-in scanner instead. This worked fine until the newest update. In this update they took away the built-in scanner and now I have to go back to using Genius Scan. I do not have an issue with GeniusScan but I find it annoying that I have to switch what I am using all the time. Another issue that I have is the menus. This is my opinion however, I find the menus a little bit annoying and hard to use in some aspects. For example when you go to add an attachment to an assignment the menus are a bit confusing. What I want is consistent updates that I keep old features and add new useful features improve GoogleClassroom experience. I want to keep all features as they are what we are used to but I also want new features which maybe will improve the way we hand in work. My hope is that Google will see this review and improve their app based on customer feedback. These solutions could be fixed. It would take a while, but they could be fixed. And that is why I am writing this review. Thank you.

Good app, could be improved

I’ve been using Google Classroom since 4th grade, and I don’t see any major problems with it. Frankly, GoogleClassroom ’s reviews are only so bad because a bunch of students are sulking about having to use it for school. I receive notifications on my iPad when new assignments are posted, and that’s super helpful especially during distance learning so I know what I have to do. Despite many reviews saying that GoogleClassroom crashes or doesn’t load, it works just fine for me on my iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Google Classroom is a useful app for both teachers and students for posting and organizing assignments. However, I do wish that there you could upload several files at once. Now, I have to upload one at a time and, depending on the size of the file, it can take a bit long (15 seconds). Also, my Google Classrooms aren’t always the most organized (not GoogleClassroom ’s fault), so it would be great if there was a search bar. If I needed to find an assignment, I could search up its name and it would show up. Finally, right now I can’t find a way to edit my comments. This isn’t a big error, it’s just annoying. If I want to change something small I have to delete it and write it all over again. All in all, the many horrible reviews are unjustified in my opinion. Google Classroom is a very good app and doesn’t deserve all the 1-stars it’s getting.

Has a lot of potential

I think this is a great tool for what it’s designed to do. Does that mean it’s the best tool out there? Well, not quite. It has a lot of potential to be something great, however, constant bugs among other things brings it down. I’ve been noticing that I can’t edit an assignment from any device, except for my computer once an assignment has been released. This gets very frustrating when, as a teacher, I need to add a couple quick pictures to my assignment from my phone, and I’m bot allowed to. I’m constantly told that since it was originally scheduled, it’s past the assigned date, and I need to take off the scheduling, so I do. However, once I do that, it always tells me that something went wrong, and I can’t save the edited assignment. This happened to me today, and while it doesn’t usually bother me too much, it was beyond frustrating and stressful. My school suddenly shut down today so many students didn’t have any materials at home such as textbooks. I took some pictures, and was trying to upload them during my lesson, but I have to teach 5 different grade levels simultaneously. You can imagine my stress levels when I had 5 different grades asking for help in math at the same time while I was trying to figure out how to get my pictures posted as quickly as possible.

Again, I think GoogleClassroom has a lot of potential, but it’s not being nurtured like it could be.

Good app, but what's with all the negative reviews for?

So since the coronavirus we have been doing online learning. I've been using Classroom for school and post secondary program that I do. It's pretty efficient and let you turn in assignments, gives notifications when a teacher posts and assignment, and everything else it's supposed to do. And for those of you who are complaining about too many notifications, that's all on your teacher not GoogleClassroom . Of course there are problems that do occur, but that's because so many people are using the Internet during the pandemic. Besides, if classroom went away, then schools and organizations would have to search for a different way of doing it, which may be hard than you already know. I use voiceover which is a screen reading software for blind and visually impaired people. The navigation with voiceover is pretty good on GoogleClassroom in my opinion. I also like how it uses Google calendar so you can be reminded about assignments. So for those of you who make fake negative reviews, stop it! It won't help you or anybody else, in fact it will only make it worse. You do realize that we also have the online version of Classroom right? Of course not all apps can be perfect, but this is crazy how people are just spamming it was one star reviews.

It’s glitching a lot

When I first downloaded GoogleClassroom everything was working fine and I had no problems. I was receiving assignments from my teachers like normal, I was getting them graded, and I was able to ask questions by messaging or in-class comments. Lately, I’ve been having some major issues. GoogleClassroom won’t let me check my grades with glitching me out, I don’t get notifications even when I have it on, and my assignments are always going missing. I don’t know if it’s a new update but whatever it is it needs to get fixed ASAP. I personal have nothing against school and I love working from home but not with an app glitching 24/7. There are also many other reviews about this. So it’s clear that GoogleClassroom has many problems, the developers don’t really seem to care about this problem. I’ve seen 100+ people share about this happening to them and all of them agree that students and teachers shouldn’t use GoogleClassroom until the bugs are fixed. School is already stressful, and having to use a glitching app all the time makes it more stressful for students. For people saying that we’re lazy and don’t want to do work, it’s hard to use a app that glitches you out 24/7. How would you be able to do assignments if there missing? GoogleClassroom setup is good, but the way it carries it out is horrible. Students and teachers should use an app that is easy and enjoyable for everyone not a few! I wouldn’t recommend downloading unless you like an app that glitches every second.

Awesome app but one thing....(Devs Plz read)

Google Classroom is one of the best school apps I have used. It is easy to navigate, and its very interactive. I had never had a problem with it in my life until now. During COVID-19 almost all of us have had our work done on Classroom. I don’t know if this affects anything but let me say this, to turn in work is a huge problem. I have never realized this before but since all of my work is now on Classroom, it has been nearly impossible to keep track of what has been turned in or not. I’ve tried using the Calendar feature in Classroom to keep track but sometimes the work doesn’t show up on there. What happens to me is that I do the work, then I move on to different work and end up not turning the first work in. This usually happens when there is no work attached to the turn in button but instead to the actual assignment. I finish it, but then forget to press “Mark as Done”. Even then, sometimes when I know I have turned it in, it DOESN’T TURN IN. In the end I still do think GoogleClassroom is awesome. Besides from the above complaint it is very easy to do things like organize work or talk with your peers( stream ). But developers, please please add a a feature where it makes it easier to know if you still have to turn something in. I think it would greatly help everyone using your app.

From a students perspective

Google classroom is an amazing app it is so much easier to do work on GoogleClassroom than teachers sending us the work in the mail. A lot of students don’t like GoogleClassroom but I personally love it, I have been doing so much better in school with GoogleClassroom because it tells you if you have missing assignments, you can post things in the stream for teachers & students to see, you can add private comments in your assignments if your having trouble and only the teacher will see. But also there are class comments you can add so everyone in your class can see, it is so much easier to do work online especially with Google classroom. With GoogleClassroom you don’t always need to do homework sometimes your teacher will post fun stuff to do and also in the stream since students are able to post on it you can post drawings you have made and you can talk to your classmates too! If you have your own private school email you will even get emails on what your teacher posted, if they put a private comment, or even graded it etc. so from a student’s perspective I think this is a amazing app and I will continue to use GoogleClassroom and not get tired with it it is so much easier than drawing on paper.

A student’s perspective

Google classroom as a website is useable but can be very frustrating to navigate and find assignments that are missing with no “missing work” folder or anything like that. GoogleClassroom takes all your frustration from the website and doubles it. All the flaws from the website remain while adding many on top of it. If you want to do any work on mobile devices to bad, the navigation on GoogleClassroom is terrible not helped by the impossible input lag and extremely long load times to even just view and assignment let alone do one. What makes this even worse is the team that made this has barely touched it sense it came out, GoogleClassroom has been unusable for years and continues to get worse as the hardware in my phone slows down. As a 14 year old I can’t afford to buy a new phone every few years and am currently using an iPhone 8 which is about a year old right now. From day one of me getting GoogleClassroom it has been nothing more but reminder to do school. What makes this even worse is the fact I do online school, I’m fortunate enough to have a personal computer that’s able to do what I need it to without much struggle but if a student had to learn from a mobile device with GoogleClassroom they would have extreme lag problems. Even testing GoogleClassroom on an iPad (6th gen) I was extremely laggy to the point I would be spending 5 minutes to even load into one class. GoogleClassroom is a disaster and needs to be fixed ASAP

Terrible Notification System

When I was first using GoogleClassroom, nothing out of the ordinary happened. that was until recently, some of the private comments that were on my school computer but not on my phone was there. My school chrome book never really alerted me of private comments added from my teachers so i used GoogleClassroom. Unfortunately, i missed a ton of private comments with important suggestions to improve that assignment. After all of the missing private comments i never even knew i had until a month later, i found out that the grades i got on my infinite campus (which has a better notification system) were terrible. My school used a rubric as a grading system (which used 1’s 2’s 3’s and 4’s) I had a 1 in one of my important final project summary all because of the terrible notification system. that one bad grade was for a perseverance grade, which meant that i can revise my work from suggestions from my teachers. but since I didn’t get that notification, my science teacher thought i ignored it and didn’t even try at all. That’s not even the worst part. the worst part is that i have to show my GRADE to my parents during CONFERENCES. imagine having to explain to your parents about your terrible grading on the science project that was worth 30 percent of your grades in the trimester. I’m screwed at this point and I just wanted to point out the fact that not all private comments (especially important ones) are notified to me.

Lots of issues recently

I actually like Google Classroom as a student and don’t mind when my teachers assign things on there, especially considering Virtual-Remote Learning is becoming more pervasive. However, recently, there have been loottss of bugs, and it can be very irritating after using GoogleClassroom for a while. One issue that has been persistent for a couple of months now is when I go on an assignment, you’re aren’t able to scroll up to see all of the links your teacher attached to the post. You have to do some weird magical scroll-up + tap trick in order to access the other links (or if the other links are drives, you can swipe from the first one); however, this wasn’t always an issue. Additionally, a recent issue that has just come up is when you tap on a question, you can’t see the question at all. The only way you are able to see it is when you’re on the classroom feed (in which it is not even displayed all the way sometimes and is cut off with ellipses) or on the ‘All Classes’ home page (in which it is also cut off). This is super frustrating, as now I’m not even able to view the entirety of the questions posted by my teachers. If this was an update, please reverse it, as it is the opposite of helpful. Again, I like Classroom, but please fix these issues, Google.

This app needs help

Let me just start off by saying it really seems like it’s the only choice for most schools because teachers barely know how to turn on their computers. GoogleClassroom is decent enough, everything seems clear. However I really only use GoogleClassroom to turn in assignments either last minute or to turn in my calculus assignments (pictures of my paper work) this is my biggest problem is turning in assignments as pictures. For starters you can only choose one picture at a time. So for example let’s say you have a 10 page calculus problem set to turn in, you have to upload each picture individually and then once you do so, it doesn’t even tell you that it is there. So you’ve got to hope it’s there, then do the rest of them. Not to mention the confusion when submitting anything that isn’t a picture. I.e. docs, drive, slides, literally everything has to be complicated in one way or another. I don’t think there is much I could say that would make the UI developers want to fix this so it’s pretty much just a rant. Thanks for coming to my TED talk.

Review from a student

Hi, I'm currently enrolled as a student who uses your software and I would like to inform you that your program is very slow and frustrating when it comes to loading my projects and assignments. Due to this fact, I have to explain to my many teachers why this might be an issue for the average student who uses google classroom. Although, on the other hand, GoogleClassroom is actually very easily accessible and organized. But, of course, there is constant bugging out and lag while it be during the loading process or even lagging out your to do assignments. In addition, I do very much enjoy this new to do list feature it comes with its own various problems as this feature always messes up my assignments and never shows them when it’s due or what class I need to do it for which is really irritating as I'm at the level now where I have a lot of teachers making it hard on myself to figure out this whole new concept. Plus, it's a lot more unpleasant since we're all in this COVID atmosphere making it really difficult to even try to learn or pay attention during class time. I've noticed myself that a lot of my classmates and I haven’t been doing a lot worse this year due to the fact of this website. This program is very unhelpful and honestly really confusing when it comes to the constant bugging and lagging of it's software and app usage overall.

Good, but adding pictures are annoying.

I was supposed to send around 17 photos of my annotations for my language arts class. I clicked on a photo, and it took around 5 minutes total for it to fully load, also taking away close to 20% of my battery life. I decided to select the photos first and then confirm it, but there’s no “select” button. So I either have to complain about Gmail being extremely annoying and constantly glitching out for Google Classroom that takes like 5 minutes to upload one photo. Even if good internet, it takes two or more minutes for the photo to load. I’m not going to spend like an entire hour trying to post 17 photos just to raise my grades, and proceeding to steal away like 50% to 60% of my battery life. Just add a “select” button. I don’t care if it eats away only to spare me 1% left, just make it snappy and let me select more than one. I don’t want to sit around, waiting for that one moment for one photo to load. The only area where it loads quicker is on my chrome book, in which I am unable to take pictures with + send photos to. Just add a select button and make me happy. If I leave and don’t respond when it has to retry for some odd reason- if I don’t respond within 20 seconds, retry automatically. I swear to god. I’m going to scream my lungs out because GoogleClassroom doesn’t include a “select” button. Sounds like a dumb reason, but seriously.

Great resource for students.

I’m only 10 and I like GoogleClassroom . I don’t really enjoy school but it helped a lot during virtual learning. I like how you can use it on the go with your iPhone and still get to catch up with assignments with the notifications. My friend is making me make a bad review but really that’s not my opinion. It’s good that on the phone you can do things like you can on the computer, such as comment, turn things in, and view your work. The only thing I don’t like is that you need to download a lot of Google apps to actually be able to edit your work on the phone. All of those apps on my phone for on-the-go learning takes up storage. For example, when I am in the car and on Google Meet because I don’t want to miss class but still have to go somewhere, I sometimes have to do work while riding in the car. I can’t bring a whole computer since my parents wouldn’t let me, so I have to download a bunch of apps to be able to launch assignments on my iPhone. I also have to use it for when my WiFi goes out and my computer doesn’t work. Other than all of those apps, it’s good and good on the computer. I recommend that students and teachers get in on the phone.

better than on school issued computer

As much as I hate to say it, GoogleClassroom is actually a lot more helpful to me than doing it on our school issued computers. I know people are giving Google Classroom bad reviews because they want it to be taken off of GoogleClassroom Store so that they don’t have to do their work, but I prefer using GoogleClassroom to using the computer, because number one, you get notifications, number two, when you open GoogleClassroom , it shows you what’s due, and number three, I don’t have a million tabs open like I do on my computer. Anyone I know will tell you that I hate school, but I actually quite enjoy using GoogleClassroom to do school work on my phone. It’s way more compact than a computer, you can take it anywhere and don’t have to worry about wifi, everything is right there and easy to use, and it’s just less to carry overall. In fact, just today I was able to finish two assignments from my phone while I was in the car thanks to GoogleClassroom. I definitely recommend the Google Classroom app to anyone who uses it, but also anyone who has a busy life or doesn’t have a lot of free time to sit down and work on school.

A minor problem

GoogleClassroom is great I receive notifications from google classroom every time the stream is updated. GoogleClassroom doesn’t glitch often and if it does it’s nothing that will get in my way. Teachers receive notifications when things are turned so I don’t have stop and email them myself. I can see what is graded and when everything is due. I can see who is also in the classroom. Everything is labeled and easy to navigate unlike like other apps I’ve used in the past. However I did give it four stars only because it’s a little hard to find any missing assignments so if there was a place I could go just to see the missing assignments GoogleClassroom would as close to perfect as possible. As a side note a lot people are giving bad reviews, which are most likely immature kids who think that giving a bad review will get them out of school work. It won’t the school will just find another app to use and then everyone will have to spend time learning how to navigate it. GoogleClassroom has no extreme issues that neither I nor my fellow peers have come across. It’s a great app for school and does everything that it is intended to do. Thank you for reading this review.

Everyone is wrong

I think Google Classroom is fine if you don’t wait to turn in your assignments at the last minute. I can rearrange my classes in the order I want. For the person complaining about file finding: your teachers hold the extent to how organized the online classroom is laid out. They can make sections and place materials or assignments under the section, making the correlating assignments/materials easier to find. *Although a search bar function to find a particular file would be nice.* It takes less than a few seconds for a PDF to be uploaded, a few seconds for a DOC to be uploaded, not too much time. The person complaining about google taking too long costing them late assignments: that’s your fault, don’t go until the last minute maybe? Take the late, own it, it’s whatever. Maybe you can talk to your teacher about the slow upload, I don’t think the teacher will find it amusing. I have had assignments turned in late because Google Classroom seems to upload things slower if I’m on a time panic haha. So perhaps the uploading time could be reduced in some way, I’m not an expert. Overall, organized app with little to no glitches.

Google classroom app for the blind in the visually impaired community.

I really do love GoogleClassroom, because it is very accessible to those with visual impairments, I also like the fact not only that you can do a Google dock while working on any assignment at the exact same time, but you can also do it through Google forms as well, because Google forms are a lot better for those with visual impairments. So, if any of you guys out there are visually impaired or blind like me, you should definitely try out the Google form, because the Google form will be definitely better for you, but if you want to continue working with the Google dock perspective, then I am fine with that. Also, I really do not know why people are writing bad reviews, if any of you guys out there are writing a bad review, then I would suggest you guys go back to the review section and try it again, because what I am seeing right now, it’s absolutely not good at all. Anyways. I really do appreciate GoogleClassroom, thank you guys for your service, and please continue to make GoogleClassroom more accessible for those with visual impairments, and thank you for your time.

Been using for 2 years now and it’s awesome!

I have been using Google classroom even before the pandemic in school and I love it. Very awesome way to turn in assignments from home since a lot of people are doing online learning and teachers can grade it and leave comments just like regular school. But the thing that shocked me was all the one star reviews! I love Google classroom and I am very comfortable with it! People are very toxic about it and I see no problem with GoogleClassroom ! A lot of positive stuff came out of GoogleClassroom and the people that rate it one star are not human. It’s probably there internet or it’s the teachers but before the pandemic barely anyone used it because they didn’t think the would have to do online learning. So give the teachers a break! I was confused at first but through the months I started getting used to it, and the teachers are getting used to it to. So if there is something wrong with your classroom than don’t just rush over to GoogleClassroom Store to file a complaint, that’s just being impatient and toxic. And I feel bad for google because they deserve better than one star.

Super Buggy

I’m a student, so I was required to download GoogleClassroom for school purposes, and it glitches so much. Every single time it updates they say that they’re making it “better,” but really, it just messes up all my classes. It has deleted my classes before, and because I need to be able to access those classes to be able to get and turn in my work, it affected my grades. The “to do” section seems like it would be really helpful, telling you what you have left to do and when it’s due, but it glitches so much that it’s an inconvenience. I tried to access it the other day to find out what homework I had to finish, and instead of showing me what was due the next day, it displayed all the homework I had ever been assigned for every class I was currently enrolled in, marked as missing even though I had turned it in months ago. GoogleClassroom is terrible, and what makes it even worse is that if they just put a little effort into it, it would make classes more convenient and accessible, but instead it’s doing the opposite. Along with all of that, it’s super slow. Every time I try to open it, it takes an exorbitant amount of time to load, even when literally everything else that I might need WiFi for works fine. Even if I go to a place that I know has faster WiFi in an attempt to fix this problem somehow, GoogleClassroom still takes the same crazy long amount of time to load.

Great class management tool but need improvements

I hope the developers actually read this...
First of all, I am very grateful for this tool/app. It certainly makes my life easier as a teacher with two big classes. In general, it is a very helpful tool to manage your class and students. With the addition of the ‘material’ option in classwork, it makes it really convenient to post agenda, handouts, or just information if I want to keep record of them (because the posts on the stream gets pushed down over time). However, on GoogleClassroom , the posts always don’t show as its complete version. The posts are always cut off below the first two lines, which makes it very inconvenient for students who use their cellphone to access more often than on a PC. Some of my students don’t have computer access everyday so it makes it really difficult and a little discouraging for them to keep up with all the information provided online, especially when they are all trying to improve their computer/ internet literacy. I truly hope this issue can eventually be resolved in the next few updates.

Google classroom review

For the most part, it is awesome. There is a programming glitch between the chrome version and mobile version. If my students need to insert a pic into a doc and do so from their phone, they can see the pic in the Google doc. But most of the time, that pic is not visible in the doc on my end when I open the same google doc from my computer. We have not figured out how to do it from the phone. Many of my students do not have computers at home.

The other inconvenient thing has to do with posting assignments. If I accidentally make an assignment with an attached doc and forget to “make a copy for each student” I am unable to edit or add it. I have to delete the whole assignment and start over. That can be time consuming if my instructions are long.

Other than these two items, it is awesome! I’m in the process of having cataract surgeries and being able to zoom in on work has saved me a lot of grief grading papers. Thanks for providing such a wonderful tool for both students and teachers!

USED to be great...

I have been using this app since it first came out. In fact, my classroom is 95% paperless because of it. I have found great ways to utilities it my classroom and have overcome some my OCD issues regarding change whenever it gets updated. HOWEVER - just recently, things have begun to get screwy.

I have made it a habit of scheduling all of my assignments on Sunday evenings. This frees up a good portion of my week and if changes need to be made, I just have to adjusted days and times. In the past week, when I tell my students to go the assignment on the this app, it’s not there. When I check my feed, it says the assignment isn’t scheduled for another 6-12 hours or so. And the times are ALWAYS unusual - like 625pm. Why would I schedule a junior high class assignment for 6:25pm? The due dates are also messing up. I do not share the classroom with another teacher, so I’m the only one who has access. No one else in my district uses this app the way I do so I feel completely alone in this. FIX THIS!

Pretty Great!

I️ know there are a lot of people out here who are saying that they hate google classroom and that it’s needlessly advanced, and all I️ have to say is; catch up with the years! This is where technology is now, and if you don’t get it or think it’s overly difficult, then you clearly were not trained or taught this form of technology. I️ think, for those of you who actually understand how this stuff works, it’s a great tool to use in classrooms that makes schoolwork and homework much easier. I️ do practically all my schoolwork on the computer, using google classroom. It’s really a great idea for a simple way to do schoolwork and such. Plus, no matter how much you fight it, this is where society and education is headed anyway. There’s nothing you can do about it, except learn, appreciate, and accept it.

I Like It, But I’m Silenced? 🤨

Let me start off by saying that I love Google Classroom. It’s a great tool for me to have so I can check my assignments on the go without having to rely on a computer (except for WiFi and Service). Except I noticed a small bug that I may not be the only victim of.

On my phone, I can only make class comments for certain classes. Like for my English class, I can press Add Class Comment, but it just takes me to a screen saying there is no class comments making me unable to add anything. I love GoogleClassroom and all, but I would really like this to be fixed so I could communicate with my classmates/teachers through Google Classroom.
I’m only 13, so your probably not gonna listen. But please have an open mind towards my review. I hope I’m not the only one going through this problem and that getting this fixed will help a lot of people.

A MUST HAVE🤩

TINY DISCLAIMER! I AM 11 YEARS OLD!!! I go to a catholic school, therefore there is a lot of work. My school pays for chrome books, well technically we pay for them, and so google classroom is something that is no option. In today’s society, nobody but the Amish can live without technology. So that is what our school says we need to do. They say we need to explore the great bowels of technology.

Currently it is 2:27 and I am sick with the flu. But I have assignments I need to do at home. And of course I accidentally left my lap top at school. So I can just whip out my phone and look at all of the things I need to do and BOOM!!! All done! Google classroom is a must have. Now probably no one will listen to me because I am 11, but I just finished my five page essay on American economy so HAHA!!

All in all google classroom is a must have for those who catch illnesses easily, and constantly need to access the internet.

Although I did see some problems. There is a glitch every time I go down to my ELA folder. Every time I press on it... it just takes my back to the google classroom home screen with all of my classes. But other than that GoogleClassroom is GREAT!!!

Thanks!

Thanks so much, GoogleClassroom is so helpful!!! I forgot what my math home work looked like, and I signed into her class and I found what it looked like and copied it on a piece of paper since I had lost my home work. This is good for situations like mine and I highly recommend it for students like me that have lost there home work. Thanks again!!! GoogleClassroom deserves 5 stars!!!! If you are looking for an app to find what your homework is then this is the best app possible. All my classmates use GoogleClassroom and the teacher recommends it for us to use if we can’t find our homework. Give GoogleClassroom five stars and be happy, it’s the best app for this you could get!!!! I’m so appreciative and thanks again. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

Classwork Update

I’ve had his app for a few years now and most of my teachers use it. It’s helpful to be able to access work that my teachers put up quickly and without needing a chromebook.

However as of late there’s been an update where a new “Classwork” tab has been introduced. I have updated GoogleClassroom to its current version however every time i open up GoogleClassroom, a small pop up shows telling me i need to update. When i click the update button it just takes me to GoogleClassroom store but nothing changes. I did delete GoogleClassroom yesterday and redownload it. Though that solution didn’t last. The first time I opened GoogleClassroom after redownloading it the “classwork” tab was there but when i open it today it is back to pop ups and no update.

Helpful, but unnecessary

I’m a high school student, and GoogleClassroom makes school life all the harder. I think it’s a great organizational tool, but I also think that Google Classroom gives teachers the excuse to almost double the amount of work we’d normally get.
It also doesn’t really help that the school that I go to makes it a REQUIREMENT for all teachers to use. GoogleClassroom just makes school life harder. Most people go off on how it helps the teachers make things easier, but in reality, they assign us with a ton of work with the click of a mouse, while we submit the work at four hours of grueling work just to make sure we don’t fail the class.
Finally, GoogleClassroom isn’t at all friendly to people that can actually stand to look away from their phone for more than two hours. If you don’t hear, or miss notifications, then you’re screwed, and ultimately have no excuses for it.

Terrible app

As a student I hate google classroom, GoogleClassroom is terrible but because Ebackpack recently shut down it is the only option for schools to use. First the typing system is terrible and doesn’t work well. To type you have to press a button on the screen and press somewhere else to open a text box. This alone is fine but to pick the font size you have to zoom in and out to get the correct size. This would also be not preferable but fine if the typing wasn’t so sensitive and while zooming out it opens up 3 text boxes. This pales in comparison to the big problem of GoogleClassroom crashing. I can not express the hours upon hours of work that has been deleted by GoogleClassroom crashing. Often I will be 3 hours into a project for it to crash and not only delete all progress I have but also delete all the saves I had in the file. Overall google classroom should only be used by schools If it is the only choice.

I was a student at a school with G Suite, then I wasn’t.

This is a must have for the classroom! After using G Suite at my old school I really forgot just how much harder it is to do everything without something GC. Google Classroom is so easy to use and is absolutely one of the most powerful tools introduced to the classroom for teachers. Classroom helped me stay organized with a folder that wasn’t full of papers I forgot about from a few months ago, but rather I could see each individual thing easily and access my grade, my work, and if it’s late or due. Keep in mind, I am not a teacher, I’m a STUDENT. It’s rare to hear this come from a student, so my review is definitely saying something.

AMAZING APP!! 5 STARS!!!

This is an amazing app it is just like the website except so much faster. It is so user friendly which is something I was not expecting. In less then 10 minutes I was able to go through all the stuff marked 'late' and prep myself for an English essay!! It was an easy sign on process all I had to do was sign in on my school account and I was let right in!! All my classes were lined up and will definitely be using this more then the website!! If you are thinking about GoogleClassroom I highly recommend getting it. I can tell that GoogleClassroom will help me get my English grade from failing to passing in no time.

Not the greatest tool for education

Its a way for teachers to make more boring work for their students. All of my teachers in school use this, its horrible. I cant tell you how happy I am when there is an actual test on PAPER. Sometimes google deletes my documents too, or it doesn't save properly. Also, I absolutely HATE google docs and slides, it makes no sense at all, don't even get me started on the formatting issues. The controls are the exact opposite of what you expect them to be. I mean I’m in a whole class where I'm taught to use Microsoft word properly, and then we do all our work on google docs....I guess the drive feature is cool, and the fact that you can share it. But its absolutely USELESS when google docs and slides are so crappy and hard to use with their non-logical controls. If you read this far thank you, but google, will never be as good as Microsoft word.

Google Classroom is Good

I am happy with the overall performance of GoogleClassroom; however, I wish there would be more optional question types to ask as a teacher other than just “short answer” or “multiple choice.” Also, another problem I experienced is that I can’t choose my classroom color preferably unless I upload a picture of that particular color. Even still, color choices are very limited in the classroom. To the contrary, I really do enjoy the active discussions and environment of the classroom, as a student and a teacher. Being able to mute disciplinary students and upload various amounts of topics/assignments have been proven extremely useful to me. It would also help to have a dark theme, whiteness is too bright.
