Doesn’t work with my IPhone 11. CarMediaPlayer will not even open past the main screen.

iOS 12 just came out, CarMediaPlayer has now completely stopped working

The most recent update crashes my iPod. Can’t use it at all with the AppRadio.

I've been having issues with the appradio recently, even before getting CarMediaPlayer. It happened after the update to the iPhone app that lets the head unit and iPhone talk. Any time tried using CarMediaPlayer menu it would just go black and stay that way unit I backed out of it. Today, I did an update for the software on the head unit with the new firmware and now it works perfect again. The update is kind of a pain being that you need two different microSD cards because it's done in two seperate updates; the second of which has three things it updates individually. By the way, read the instructions before doing it otherwise it'll seem to take longer than it needs too (also, you will have to reset the time and date when done.) I downloaded CarMediaPlayer the same day I did update and I'm really impressed with it layout and how you maneuver the menu for it. I don't normally do playlist so playlists being in alphabetical order (as read in other reviews) doesn't affect me. The controls are smoother and much quicker to do on the fly unlike the iPod player that is standard on the head unit. It's a big difference when driving and selecting music. I don't see why pioneer didn't just change the old iPod player with this one in the first place. But all in all, I'm loving CarMediaPlayer when driving. It's what the appradio absolutely needed when it comes to listening to iPod on a drive.

This is a good start to what the iPod interface should be on the appradio and I look forward to more refinements. I'm using it with a 4s. I haven't experienced any issues with the audio playback other than it being a little slow to open if the iPod app on your phone isn't already open. I like the interface, it's much easier to scan through large libraries to find albums. I also enjoy the side swipe to see the other songs in the album. I hope in the future you're able to give star ratings to the songs.

Update: I have the audio stutter issue at the beginning of songs too. It also restarts the track if you turn it on while you're already listening to it via the iPod app.

If CarMediaPlayer doesn't show up in the recommended apps section on your appradio you may need to restart the appradio app on the phone in order for it to show up.

Great interface for the iPod. One bug I noticed is that sometimes when your playing your music and it switches to the next song it will start the song for a split second and start it from the beginning again for another split and it will do it again. Simply put you just hear the first note of the song two or three times before it continues with the song. Also if you were in the middle of a song and then you plug you phone in it will start that song from the beginning again. Not a huge deal but still mildly annoying.

Apart from the few bugs it is a wonderful addition to CarMediaPlayer radio and you might consider building CarMediaPlayer into the firmware itself that way you can access it directly from that home screen.

This application makes it easy to scroll through your music library and also displays an image of the album your playing. The image cnanan slide to the left to pick a new song from that album or toggle up and down tracks by using arrow keys next to the play buttion. This all is great! The only thing it needs a way to access other ablums, artist or songs easily without scrolling back through the main selection. The ability to easily find another album or artist by sliding the album cover of the song playing to the right dislpaying the artist selection list or whichever you chose from the beginning would be more convenient.

Seriously pioneer? Another app? I have to leave one app to run CarMediaPlayer while driving? I thought in the purchase of the appradio was to avoid using the phone! This feature should have been installed on the radio itself in the last firmware update 2.45! Not through an app! I guess all the suckers who bought the first app radio (I too am a sucker) were your little ginny pigs! I'm lucky I paid only 200 hundred for this head unit. I really am hoping the next appradio will do much better and meet the standards you guys reached in the past. I have A LOT of pioneer products and I am not happy with this one! So please give us a real firmware update! I seriously gave up a JVC kw-avx840 up just for this radio and though the jvc was a bit slower it did everything. Also add a ATTENTION button on the screen please! So all in all add what CarMediaPlayer does in a appradio firmware update!

Nice looking app, easy to navigate, was initially very excited about CarMediaPlayer until i realized that Music videos won't work in a playlist format. They filter to the video section and I have to select one after the other. As you can imagine this is extremely annoying as they are only 4 minutes long. Wish I never upgraded to the iPhone 5. The 4s was great. Spent over $100 in cables to adapt AVIC-z140bh to work with the lightning connection so I could watch the 200 music videos I've purchased from iTunes over the years. I won't buy anymore till someone figures this out.
I also agree that the clock needs to remain on the screen.

The touch interface doesn’t interpret touches very well, so whenever I tried to scroll up and down it kept thinking I want to click. Then there’s the biggest complain I have, which is the play location doesn’t sync with the phone, so if I am listening to a Podcast and got out of the car half way, the Podcast app does’t know the last played position. I can understand why this behavior exist, but what’s weird is that whenever I launch this app again and want to continue my Podcast, it started all the way from the beginning.

I think this an interface that has been perfected! I now love my appradio in a whole new way. Excellent design and it works with iTunes match. A lot of thought has been put into this design. Now all that needs to be done is replace the default iPod app in the firmware with this one. This was deff worth the wait!!!!

Super happy pioneer customer, last request please remove those warnings and that ignore button that needs to be pressed everyone I start my appradio.

Ive had app radio(1st gen) about 3 weeks now and I have already had to delete & reinstall car media player at least 15 times. It stops working about every other day! Very very frustrating and disappointing that I paid so much for crap. Will CarMediaPlayer ever be updated with bug fixes?!!

I just updated IOS 7.1 on my iphone 5s and now the appradio and carmedia player do not operate. I've gotten bugs to this point but this is ridiculous. I have to restart my phone, go through the entire connection process, maybe CarMediaPlayer took. As soon as I back out to operate any other functions, I am prompted to reconfirm connection and likely the appradio doesn't activate, blank screen. When it does activate, the carmedia ceases to function. I am left handling my phone manually and watching my activities on the screen with no more touch capability. UPDATE THE OS ON YOUR DECKS PIONEER!. I spent almost a grand for your nav deck to end up with this. THANKS!

Had this for a year on my iPhone 5, worked absolutely fine, with a crash here and there, nothing abnormal. As soon as I got an iPhone 6, I noticed the display changed ever so slightly. It was a good looking change, but for some reason it took 5 seconds to skip forward a song, and couldn't even go back a song. That went on for about a day, now it won't even work. I reset my phone, tried both AppRadio and CarMedia Player, it just won't work. Bluetooth doesn't even properly connect. Hope this all gets fixed.

The interface is awesome. I feel cool using it. I wish it had the time on it though. Other than that I think it would be nice if when you go to search CarMediaPlayer takes you back to where your previous search was (ie. Album X), not the top menu. Also, the search menu puts all the "the" albums in the "T" section. Which is obviously dumb... Anyway, good job though. 4 stars.

It's a great app I really like the interface. The only downside is that you cannot use the steering wheel controls to change tracks or in my case (avh-bhs5500) the buttons on the head unit don't work either. Another flaw that I found is that there is no clock! I really wish they would put one on there. But other than that I really like it 👍

I agree with most on here regarding this being a great app. One issue I have that stands out more than the rest of these is the fact there is no clock feature on the screen. Id like to see it within CarMediaPlayer instead of having to switch to the home screen any time I want to know the time. Other than that great app and thank you.

CarMediaPlayer only works if I kill all apps then I have to open AppRadio first before I can use CarMediaPlayer. Just to listen to my music. If I leave my car then return without killing CarMediaPlayer , it just displays on my AppRadio 2 as a mirror of my phone and I cannot control my music. What's the point of an iPod icon on home screen and you can't control your music, Pioneer. Fix it please.

I have always bought a Pioneer for my car but it seems that his time Pioneer was a little to in a hurry to roll out the Car media app and AppRadio app for iphone . Car Media app crashes everytime on video playback( not enough beta testing i suppose) and on the AppRadio app my Igo nav does not work, keep asking me to buy addon from the innapp store.... The appstore says just .... addons not available.......
Cmon Pioneer this Iphone / radio merger could ger you way ahead of the competition but without working software there is nothing to gain on this battle field you want to get onto.
